I don't think I've touched the main quest since the first hour of the game. I still need to get into Diamond City or something. Is it tough? I am level 12 right now.

Also the DJ on Diamond City radio sucks way too hard. I'm listening to the classical station instead because of it.

Quoting myself for others to see context. Okay I just semi-confirmed that if they die the supply route disappears and you need a new settler and to assign them to do that supply line again. In Sanctuary I assigned a settler to do a supply line to another settlement. He then became the name "Provisioner". I followed him as he left Sanctuary and he went all the way to the other settlement. He didn't go 100% the way there, but I'd say 95%, then he turned back. I quickly went there to build and could use materials I had at Sanctuary.

I then proceeded to shoot him and kill him, I didn't get any notification that my supply line was dead/removed. I open the map, press C to view supply line and it was gone. I then now checked to see if I could build something with materials from sanctuary and I couldn't any more. So killing the supply line settler did end the supply line. I'm not sure if it's because I killed him that's why I say it's semi-confirmed, can only confirm 100% if I am not following him and he is killed by another AI. While we were travelling we did get attacked though but it was by 1 boat fly and Codsworth and him killed it. I'm assuming if they die via AI you may get a notification that your supply line was disrupted or whatever.

Also, I'm not entirely sure how supply lines now work. I thought it also shared your total inventory? I could not access weapons I stored at sanctuary, I was only able to build new things at the settlement I set a supply line to with materials from sanctuary. Is it even possible to share that total inventory? Do I need to build stores like Trader for that or? No idea. This is very interesting though.

It makes no sense not to have shared inventories enabled by default. Instead, not only do they lock it behind a perk, but it's convoluted and confusing to use.

I sent two settlers to another settlement and they never showed; meanwhile, the map still lists them as if they're still at the original settlement I sent them from. I assumed it's a bug so I'm laying off of settlement-building until a patch comes along.

I've spent 8 hours with the game so far and died about 7 times. 100% of these deaths occurred from the clusters of insta-kill landmines scattered throughout the wasteland. It's a huge fuck you, and a reminder to quicksave every 10 feet.

How do I get better food for my settlement? It seems the only food i've found either does 1 food, or 0.5 food and I need to put a settler on each one for it to count. If I put more food down it uses another settler, which then doesn't give me any spare to use on guard posts or trading.

Yeah, in a Fallout game no fast-travel is just a bad time. Even in the pen and paper fast travel basically happens by just telling the DM you want to go somewhere. I've never quite understood that imposition.

I enjoy the whole 'being far away from home' feeling you can get in these types of games.

Being able to get back there using a button is just a way to reduce the chances for some amazing stories. If my inventory isn't full, I don't use fast travel.

What rate do Legendary enemies spawn in each difficulty? I know this game is more punishing than 3 and NV, but I don't want to punish myself too much if I'll still see a lot of Legendary enemies at Hard instead of Very Hard.

I can confirm that your power armor can be stolen by raiders just had it happen to me at the LOCATION SPOILER
Charles View Amphitheater
.

I think my game is glitched. I was playing on Hard and got a ton of legendary enemies and was dying all the time. Changed to Normal and they're still coming,

I was fine with him until I noticed that haha. Not done any sarcastic responses yet, not sure why as I normally would. Maybe on another playthrough, but stuck at the moment because on a particular quest after joining them:
It tells me to board the vertibird to go to a fort I think? But it just flies down to the airport, and when I board that it goes back? Not sure what I am doing wrong if anything : I'm assuming boarding it should take me to the fort, but it's not. Unless I board it and walk there, but the icon points back to the vertibird.
.

You're taking the wrong one try the one with the icon over it

this does a terrible job of explaining the building system

gotta make crops, going to have to guess how

Just casually building my base up and a fucking huge helicopter or plane or something crashed into it, exploding like a mini nuke. :O

Is there no Power Armor Training perk? Any Joe Smoe can use Power Armor?

Those cheeky bastards!!!
LOCATION SPOILERS
I showed up at the amphitheater and talked to the leader of the group that was there. He wanted me to give him everything I had to get into his group and I basically told him to fuck off. Well after that everyone in the place starting attacking me. I forgot I had parked my power armor out front until I see a fucking cultist run in the room full speed bashing me in the head killing me.

Yes. I have rolled with me and a companion both in power armor and armed with miniguns and it was glorious.

Yes.

Its great. First hour of following the main story you get to run a Power Armor. Its awesome. No need for a perk or level restriction.
I think that's a bit stupid. Especially since any old asshole Raider can use it. They could handwave the player character being able to use Power Armor as being a veteran of the Sino-American War having already had training.

Pick some up, go into workshop mode, resources, food, select a plant and make sure you're over dirt. You then need to assign a settler to farm them.

I heard that you can safeguard against your Power Armor being stolen by removing the Fusion Core from it when you "park" and get out, so I'm going to make that standard practice.

Yes.

-No reloading saves. Whatever happens happens and I have to keep going forward no matter how things turn out, unless I die. Obviously this makes me quicksave quite often but I'm really liking it.
-I must unlock every Luck perk before I can put points into anything else. I must unlock all tiers of Idiot Savant, Mysterious Stranger and Ricochet as soon as they become available.
-Dogmeat only

I'm also very attached to my classy Gas Mask/Clean Black Suit ensemble, and would like to try to stick to it through as much of the game as possible. I already die in two or three hits to most things and I'm still able to make progress, so we'll see. If I encounter an area that is just an absolute no-go, I can always come back with the ol' Power Armor.
I'm actually trying to do as much of the game as possible without Power Armor. I think if I made a strength build I might actually try and see how far I could take the Power Armor.

All luck perks huh? Sounds like a weird time. Not that perks are terribly necessary in this game from my experience so far, it does sound fun.

I do so wish that lockpicking and hacking was based solely on stats and not perks, however. I hate having to come back to areas, mostly because I always forget which areas had stuff I wanted/needed to open.

I think its more of the developers wanting people to have fun with it. It uses cores, so when they deplete you walk super slow so its not as useful then. But its fun. I, for one, approve of this. More games need to give you access to cool stuff early in the game.

lol. is this one of the instances people talked earlier about? where cars where being launched?

This game really needs a way to scrap things in your inventory or in the workshop inventory.
Transfer all into the workshop bench and they'll be instascrapped as you need the parts they have for building things.

This definitely appears to be the #1 asked question for the game that I've seen, so it definitely fails at adequately conveying this to the player.

Walking allows for random stuff to happen on the way, kinda like the old wandering monster encounter tables. Especially in Bethesda games where you can have quests start while walking along. I don't do it all the time but I do like taking the long way from time to time.

Yes, it's wonderful. There but only for the grace of god (and Dogmeat) do I survive the wasteland.
Hit start and go to help. There's also a mission that explains it all after you help P
reston...follow him back to the Sanctuary
.
I'm sure he's on the step of that quest that requires you to plant stuff.

I need to stay off the forums.

It's like "hmm, what can I come up with that I don't like and create a new thread about"... then a bunch of people who haven't even played the game chime in with "holy shit, you're right, it sucks!!!!!!".

Meanwhile, millions of us are actually.. you know.. playing and enjoying the game.

I know it is hard for people but sometimes you have to... you know... use your imagination. It's like if the game doesn't spoon feed it to you directly, then it suddenly is shit.

I feel like I should complain because when I go to loot a box, I don' see the animation of the character reaching in and pulling those items out. How dare Bethesda not include this. Ghost Looting totally ruining my immersion.

It absolutely has its problems. But it isn't unplayable or "awful". It will get cleaned up.

I found a set of semi-ruined Power Armor near a quest objective and decided to take it out for a spin. Traveled halfway across the wasteland with it now. :lol

Meanwhile my perfectly good set sets waiting for me back at Sanctuary.
