For me, it broke g-sync as detailed above. Rolled back to older driver and have no problems.
Well, that's what I'm saying... if there's no actual improvement in performance, then why even bother installing it? Game ready or not.
At any rate, I did the "reddit ini tweaks" and saw a drastic improvement in stuttering on my system. Framerates didn't really improve by much that I can notice, but it's a
hell of a lot smoother. I'm getting around 45-60 at 1440p in the opening area around Sanctuary Hills, and that's a
smooth 45-ish... Gsync is definitely doing its thing (Vsync disabled in ini), and even with the fluctuations it doesn't feel nearly as choppy as it did yesterday. If not for the overlay saying I'm dipping into the 40s, I'd probably say it was hitting 60, it's that smooth.
i7-2600K @ 3.4GHz (stock)
16GB DDR3
GTX-680 2GB (yes, that's a
six-eighty)
Win10
If I can get smooth performance on a three-generation-old card, there's definitely something hinky going on if you guys can't get smoothness out of a brand new 980ti.
All High settings except for Object Detail & Fade, Lighting quality, and Textures at Ultra, Godrays at Low, at 1440p, fullscreen (Borderless=0 in the ini)
