Also, are Quantum and Cherry Colas needed for a quest?
I would really like to know this as well, if they aren't needed I'm gonna stuff a shack full of Nuka Cola merchandise.

They will break down to their base components as needed while crafting. Say you've stored a desk fan. When you need something with screws, as you go to craft it it will auto-scrap the fan to get them. There's even a "store all junk" button.
For weapons and armor I guess you do need to drop n' scrap them.
While that is true, i'm pretty sure that an object "consumed" that way is gone after that even if you only used a part of it.
For example, an item has 2 Wood and 2 steel, if you "consume" that item while building something, but you just need the Wood of it, the steel will be lost.
Therefore it would be better to drop and scrap them, since that will break it down to it's components.
I'm not 100% sure of this, but it's what i heard.

So when I switched to a different companion dogmeat, just freaking vanished (after saying he would be returning to sanctuary and he started heading off there), I fast traveled there to do some town buidling and he's not there... my favorite companion is freaking gone!![]()
This has been debunked.
Question regarding SPECIAL and Perks....
I know that you are supposed to play this game anyway you like but is there an advantage to upgrading your SPECIAL as much as possible first before adding Perks?
Not me, Sanctuary isn't getting nearly the attention it deserves because I'm so focused on my rocket observation deck.
Depends on your initial build and way of playing the game. For example, I dont plan on using snipers or sneak that much, so I wont be investing much points into Agility. You can upgrade your SPECIAL throughQuestion regarding SPECIAL and Perks....

I was level 11 and it took me about 8 tries to bring her down...Do quests scale with your level?

I had a questions about something, I was walking around and I got to this point where two guys are fighting about one of them being a synth. The guy was his friend or something from what I remember. Near the confrontation a bunch of enemies "Gunners" will attack, but I'm not sure who they are working with, sometimes the friends will attack each other, on another load I got attacked by everyone, it seems that the Gunners will even disrupt the conversation.
Eventually I had to sneak around the Gunners to complete the dialogue with the guys. After that, I noticed one of the Gunners had some shades so I killed all of them for some goodies and when I came to look for the characters with names, they were all gone?
Was there something bigger going on here that I missed? It was slightly confusing.
Anyone? Is it possible to do every quest like fo3? Or does shit automatically fail like new Vegas?
Was this in Diamond City? Pissing certain people off can trigger attacks in the city so it sounds like this might have overlapped with the scripted argument (which, to my knowledge, you can't do anything with and is just there to inform you about the synth plotline).
I'm sure this has been asked like a billion times but to scrap your items you just "Transfer" them into the work bench?
It's not super long, and it doesn't exactly match the trail in real life. It goes fromOh my god. That's awesome. How long is the trail?

Anyone?
So far all my perks are crafting or lockpicking/hacking. I need to level up my damage I am getting roughed up on Very-Hard.

Ah lame. I hate feeling like I'm missing shit and unique items even if it doesn't make narrative sense.I'm pretty sure you can other than the faction quests once you side with one.
Yeah, I left it on regular difficulty for that reason. I want more of the game to be unlocked (crafting, picking, etc) and not be forced to pump up my damage to just defeat enemies that have higher health and do more damage.
Check the table in yourWhere's thebook?
This guy Travis on the radio is fucking terrible, I miss 3Dog or radio New Vegas bad.
Well you can do the side quests and you can do faction quests up to a certain point in the main quest line.Ah lame. I hate feeling like I'm missing shit and unique items even if it doesn't make narrative sense.
I miss 3Dog.

So:
A: Yes
B: No, but the game will still consider it a yes
X: Sarcasm/joke and then yes.
Y: Inquire slight and then yes.
Walk away: game will prompt you with quest as if you accept 20 seconds down the road.
Serious, like seriously, this is what we've come to? This is just sad, mostly because somewhere under this there might be an actual decent RPG. The piddly blowouts are kind of adorable in how it wants to be like STALKER.
And yes, I am riding the X option hard.
The quick save in this game kinda sucks, I walked into a Subway filled with Ghouls- way underleveled so I got dead in like 3 seconds from being swarmed- game reloaded with me getting mauled-
I tried turning around and exiting subway and somehow the ghouls were outside with me and the game autosaved again, reload, commence mauling
Thanks, good to know, was just about to give all my minigun ammo toStrong
