Someone either in this thread or the Smash thread, posted an interesting idea where Ice Climber is added as a single character, but in team mode, two Ice Climbers can pair up and use their specials as a team, as they used to.

That would actually probably work out for the most part.

It's ok you just got to accept that sakurai left us high and dry for the trolls to feed off of. Accept that sakurai will never put that badass in. Anime has won, accept it nobody cares about cool characters anymore. Old school gaming has lost.

So an entirely new design that would have nothing to do with the NES version other than height, because it would look so incredibly different and updated. That argument is basically: the sprite was only a bit larger than Samus on NES, so the character is allowed to be that small.

The only good argument for Ridley is this:
