So I just did the first
BoS
faction quest and exited
ArcJet
and now
everything has gone to hell. Is this a result of activating the rocket or is it some kind of radiation storm?

Transfer everything into benches.

Benches? Like workbenches where you craft/mod weapons?

Also, how the hell do I create a power line. I'm assigned to build a coms tower and a power genereator, but I can't find any way to connect those two.

Speaking of Bobbleheads I've gotten

S.P.C.I.A.L.

Plus the sneak and big guns.

The endurance one is the only one that I wasn't able to outright beat or RUSH like a motherfucker grab and book it. The Agility one was especially funny because it's in a place filled with high level enemies, and I just used a stealth boy, then once it ran out it was multiple trial and errors from a previous quicksave until I was able to find the best running path to grab it and jump off the area. All the raiders just saw a dude sprinting pas them, grab a bobblehead, and jump off the building lol.

Speaking of tough areas, if any of you are also Stealth builds and find that you're found way too easily the answer is simple: your companion. I don't know if they simply don't have the same stealth you do or whatever, but I wasn't able to beat this area with my companion so I told them to wait in the entrance. Then I went full splinter cell throughout the base, picking them off one by one. My stealth and critical damage is ridiculous now. Whenever I know the best way to beat an area is stealth I now leave the companion waiting and i take care of the place myself.

Assigning settlers to food sources is so infuriating. I wish you could just have a top down view of your settlement so you could see what everybody is assigned too.

Was the sky yellow with occasional lightning that increases your radiation? If yes, it's just a radiation storm. How did you activate the rocket engine?

I definitely haven't built toward scavenging although I think your luck rating affects your scavenging to a degree.

I have 8 Luck, and generally get at least some ammo off of most bodies, but still find myself regularly running out of desired ammo. Not using v.a.t.s. as often has resulted in eating up considerably more ammo in this game for me. Some, like .50 cal for my sniper, have been few and far between.

Yeah that sounds like a radiation storm. I activated the rocket as the Paladin was getting attacked by a shit ton of synths and after activating it, it burned a ton of them away. The switch was just straight ahead of the terminal you use.

Anyone that have gotten the radio signal called
Boston City Works Beacon
? I can't seem to find the origin point of it. I found one entrance but there wasn't really anything in there, nor anything transmitting the signal, only receiving it.

I know there is no level cap...but surely the game at some point stops giving you perk points ? Looking at the perk chart, they seem to have a soft cap of lvl 50 (The rank 3 tier 10 perks)...possibly you stop getting perk points at 50 ? (Otherwise you could theoretically max out every perk if you played long enough)

Nope. I was curious, so I tested it, and you keep getting perk points. Leveled up to 135 and got around a 100 perk points.

Curiously enough, it looks like experience needed for the next level barely rises the further you get. Every next level seemed to require only like a couple of thousand EXP, even after level 100.

D'oh, I didn't even think to do that. I figured it would kill the Paladin. I fought them the hard way. I tried activating it later, just to see what happens, but it wouldn't activate.

How do I lower houses and items to touch the ground at settlements? I can't seem to figure it out.

All of the terrain is uneven making it really hard to place stuff correctly. Starlight Drive-in is just uneven enough that when I try to put house blocks, it's floating above the ground. -_-

It appears down the bottom in your pipboy (IIRC it says 'Level up (1)' ) At that point, you put that 1 point into your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. or in a perk if you have met the requirements

It sounds like to me, you have put your point/s into special, leaving no points left to put in perks. You have to make a choice between the 2 each time you level (ie you dont automatically get given a perk to choose each time you put a point in special)

Its possible but I didn't confirm anything. I tried to choose a perk as I just leveled up and I couldn't do anything. I could add and remove three stars into any perk but I couldn't pick a perk.

i wonder if i'm playing this game wrong by going straight to
diamond city
i haven't really explored much and i did like two sidequests, maybe this why i haven't found any decent armor D: There's just something about the gravity of the main quest that pulls me in hard.

That's the point man. Play it how you want. I feel like a lot of people miss this. There is no 'right way' to play the game.

There's a concrete floor piece that you can sink through the ground to create an even floor.

I thought the same thing -- I assumed the game was giving us a choice of "step out and face a tough battle or hit the button to roast 'em and
sacrifice a paladin
. Oh well, that was actually a pretty entertaining fight.

Yeah, he survives because of his Power Armor apparently but I thought I severely injured him.

Get off my fucking bed, Garvey.

I tried setting up a pressure plate based lighting in my garage/armory/workshop for my power armor but the game won't let you leave power armor on the plates.

Something weird is going on here. If you look at your Perks tab (not the chart) in your Pip Boy are there any perks listed there?

I'm wondering if there is a bug that I have encountered with a luck score of 5. I could literally open my own ammo shop. I'm finding a laundry list of goods on every enemy I encounter.

I think the entrance to Fort Hagen is broken for me. Without going into spoiler detail, the front door is blocked and you can't go that way, so you have to enter through a door on the roof. I got to this door, it's the only one on the roof.

I get no open prompt on it. I'm playing on PC, any ideas I can use to fix this?

I'm pretty sure you can enter through the parking garage, or there might be a hatch-like door on the roof as well.

Kinda regretting going with a 1 in luck. I'm going to have to waste so many levels pumping points into it to get to the good perks. Are the bobble heads the only ways to get free special points? Are there more books like the one in the beginning?

I approach every Bethesda game as a sandbox that could break at any moment. I need to tiptoe around everywhere carefully and aimlessly and get my kicks in before the sides of the box fall apart and dump sand everywhere and I realize the whole thing has been full of cat crap the whole time

There should be a roof-hatch you can get in through, I think. Also the parking garage, though I can't remember if it's open from the outside initially.

Quick question. Do you always get XP when your companion kills an enemy? Sometimes I don't see the XP notification on the top left screen when either dog meat or Cogsworth kill someone/something.

It's just that everytime i play one of these games i always get the urge to move the plot, it's a bad habit that i kinda wanted to leave behind with fallout 4. Also i should really learn how to upload screenshots and videos from the PS4, a couple of cools things have happened to me and i wanted to share.

Some peoples settlements are insane:

Damn that's so fucking cool, i have only managed to make a hobo house made of wood with a bunch of beds inside.
