People seem to believe this is, in fact, the debut of Rey's theme. Dunno if that's actually the case though. Lucasfilm hasn't said one way or the other, I don't think

I kind of hope not. I thought the music was pretty whatever and just assumed it was something just for the commercial.

We'll see though. If it is legit, maybe it works better in the context of the full score.

Oh, so his leg isn't silver in 3? So it happened during the big gap, then. Maybe Rebels will tell the story.
His leg is silver in his Rebels appearance already though.

Threepios coating changes haven't of yet ever had on screen explanations.

yo whats the deal with that crystal with the room with all those aliens in it

this isn't final fantasy
Well, Star Wars is far closer to fantasy than sci-fi after all. It's a franchise about wizards and sorcerers with magic powers.

It looks like it could be a good film, aside from all of the Star Wars stuff.

I am expecting to cry.

My favourite bit is when Finn and Rey introduce themselves to each other and Rey gives a tiny smile. Already more emotion than in the whole of the prequels!

I do wish they'd stop now. Because I have no self-control and don't want to see anymore!

This is a light-hearted comment. I will continue hoovering up everything to do with this film and then moan when I know the plot before I've seen it.

Damn you can figiure out the whole movie now based on the new trailers & TV spots. 3 distinct locations, the order of events, who what where and why. Marketing was better before they showed us the whole film.

This marketing isn't for us, though.

This is what's funny about the blitz: It's still all of like, 6 minutes of the movie. So that aint' shit, really. But we all KNEW this was coming. We've known for a very long time this onslaught was going to be beastly. But now that its here, a lot of fans are starting to get shook.

But it's not for the old fans. This is Star Trek 09 all over again. They're not really selling to us. We're in already. Absolutely, 100% in. They know that. They're selling to football fans. They're selling to Scandal fans. They're selling to Bunk'd on the Disney Channel. They're going after everyone and anyone who is semi-familiar with Star Wars but doesn't really give that much of a shit.

And those people aren't gonna be piecing shit together from trailer to trailer, or looking at magazine scans. Those puzzle pieces aren't even puzzle pieces for them. They're just disembodied ads for this year's big Christmas movie.

My guess is it's some sort of vibroblade.

It's one of these.

I have it and I still don't know what it is. It looks like some kind of shock baton.

This ^^

Yes, this feels like Star Trek 09, but at least in a good way.

Really? The order of events maybe, but I still don't know what the actual story is.

Yep you totally can. Just take everything we know from the trailers & plug it into the 3 act structure & you'll see. This is JJ. It's a by thw book film 100%. JJ is just really good at following the book & knows what works.

Yeah and Star Wars doesn't need to be convoluted or a tryhard. Good vs evil, keep it at that.

It wasn't stiff, just a different mentality to being back in the Falcon. But this one feels more like Han to me.
Indeed. I was actually a little bothered by the first take we saw because it felt a little too much like he was delivering a sentimental message directly to the audience--which was obviously the intention with the way they crafted the teaser and where they debuted it--so it is really reassuring to see that it will actually play differently, and likely more organically, in the actual film.

You say that and yet the best Star Wars film by a mile is Empire which shakes up the formula.

Middle trilogy movies are usually a bit different due to the nature of the story but it still has an obvious three act structure. Then again I don't agree much with the omg EMPIRE *heavy breathing* mentality lol

Still pretty by the books aside from a major twist at the end. Nothing really convulted or hard to follow.

Again like Bobby said. This marketing isn't for us. Which is a bit of a curse because and enthusiasts we're going to watch every piece of media mostly.

Also you really can't know what the story is unless you've read spoilers. The most you can do off this media is figure out how characters meet, maybe the order of certain events but we have no idea what the plot is based on the trailers or these tv spots

They just had a massive Star Wars segment on BBC's Children in Need. C3PO, R2D2, BB-8 and a shedload of celebs did a bit for it.

I already knew BB-8 was a physical prop, but it was still amazing to see it first-hand being used live on stage.

heh. sure. uhh, did you watch the prequels?

Unless you're kidding, Id love to know your idea of the whole movie based on the trailers and commercials.
