I saw it mentioned as a little thing they did just to make it look like time had passed, which implies to me that they won't explain it. And I hope they don't. It's going to sound really contrived if they shoehorn his new arm into conversation.

Why are people spoiler tagging Ackbar? I mean seriously? It has been long since announced Ackbar is in this and portrayed by the original actor. That is not a spoiler. Nor is the fact Nien Numb is in this and played by the original actor.

Did they ever explain why he has a silver leg in A New Hope?
If you go by the prequels it's his original covering still left while the rest of him has had gold replacing the silver by the time the OT begun.

1. didn't realize this was a debate but i'll stand with the 3d world definitely isn't a full 3d mario game people. It's something inbetween and feels like it was made by the b-team to me.
2. if people enjoy SW more by ignoring the prequels then who cares? Sure technically they are canon but we all know they were terrible, and their existence does make Force Awakens and the OT worse... it makes the force a joke. better to ignore them completely and enjoy 'real' SW.
Because interjecting "haha the prequels suck and aren't "real" star wars!" is annoying and only ever leads to even more annoying debates between OT purists and people who like the prequels. It's like we can never have a Star Wars thread where someone doesn't make petty snipes.

1, No it's not.
2. The prequels are just as much of a part of Star Wars as much as the original trilogy. Sure they suck but you can't ignore them or their place in the franchise.

"I've got a bad feeling about this" has to be in there. I think there's a chance Ackbar might say trap but not the whole line.
I have another one. I consider his complaining in ESB to be much worse than Jar Jar
