I just realized, wasn't one of the big new features of this game supposed to be a system where you could go back in time at will to solve puzzles and shit? Or am I totally making this up?

That was a 4chan rumour a brief moment after the reveal trailer was released. Would've been cool and crazy ambitious, but dunno how that would have worked story-wise (although given Bethesda clearly gives few fucks about logical explanation that doesn't matter). But clearly was untrue.

My OCD is killing me trying to build a house. Why couldn't they make the platform for the houses and the walls fit? My first attempt at a house is unfinished after several hours last night because I couldn't get the walls to not hang over the edge.

Anyway, still loving this game. Realized earlyish on that I made mistakes with my perk choices but nothing game breaking. I love the world and atmosphere that they created here. It's fantastic.

Yeah I had trouble with this or a while as well before I realized you're simply not supposed to use the foundations that are already standing from previous homes. If you do decide to place a home on a foundation then you need to lay your own shack foundations on top of it. It's ridiculous that you have to do that but who cares?! All I know is now my homes are all lines up with no huge cracks where seams don't meet!

This is the standard one (it's huge but it sinks into the ground if you want it to) but there's also several others I believe that just look like plain flat floors

I have the strangest issue and something I've never seen before in my 20 years of gaming. After playing for a few hours, everything I see has a pink tint. The white font on my monitor looks pink, my phone screen looks pink. It is crazy odd and takes about 30+ mins for my vision to return to it's normal colors. Fallout 4 is the only game I've ever played that has had this effect on my vision. Has this happened to anybody else?

I'm on a ROG Swift btw

Pretty happy with my progress today. Maximum height with every room lit and sectioned off with their own doors.

Next step, decorating!

Overseer's Guardian
must have a ridiculously high armor penetration with the default mod that's on it.

At 55 damage x 2 (gun shoots two projectiles per bullet) and nothing in the automatics perk, it takes three shots to kill a
Vault 81 security guard.

At 20% armor penetration, doing 131 x 2 it takes...
three shots
to kill the same enemy. I don't get it. They must have around 90 armor and the original mod ignores it all or something.

edit: Nvm. The way damage reduction works in this game is either nonsensical, or VATS lies. I took the perk to see enemy resistances and it says these enemies only have 11 armor. If that's actually true, it shouldn't have taken an equal amount of shots to kill them with a weapon that does over double the amount of damage per shot.

Random, dumb question that I most certainly know the answer to, but I'm going to ask anyway...does anyone know if it's possible to do away with the small bit of radioactive water in the middle of the drive-in? I really like the area and want to move my home base there and build a massive fort.

Edit: have to also make sure there's enough dirt for food Haven't checked that yet because I know the above is impossible 😕

Does anyone know where I can find Preston to have him rejoin as my companion after
you complete the Castle quest?
He has a bunch of my stuff that I stored on him and I have no idea where he is.

Not sure if anyone got my question yesterday, so I'll ask again. Are encounters with Legendary enemies random, or are they intentionally placed like in previous games.

I once came across two legendary raiders at once, and it felt like it was random spawn.

Build a bell. Ring it. Wait and he'll show up at the bell.

Random.

Some quest spoilers but I need some clarity.

Is the serum in the Cabot's quest line the same serum Vergil was talking about? As soon as I got the serum, I tried talking to Vergil but no dialogue tree opened up?Whatever the option is, I want Vergil to get whatever he wants.

Still haven't found an answer for this: Does strength affect unarmed damage or not?

Also...does blitz work with unnarmed attacks, or just melee?

Seems like it's random. I had reloads due to death that spawned legendaries to replace normal enemies.

Thought the whole base building thing was a waste of time.

Spent all last night building a three story base and plan on leveling/perks towards Local Leader or whatever so I can build crafting stations.

I love this game.

Also my fans and mirror balls stopped spinning for some reason. Phooey.

what the fuck at these
children of the atom
motherfuckers near S
alem
? they almost recked me with rad guns, jesus. Is this some sort of
alien
cult? lol

Not sure if I got lucky with this, but I just scrapped the drums of waste and it stopped being radioactive. I went in the water as well and it didn't do anything to me.

I love this game. Was doing a quest and found an epic battle between caravan guards and Super Mutants. Then a Brotherhood Vertibird flew in and started shooting the mutants until they blew it up. Explosions everywhere! I was sniping from a distance and then moved in to clean house.

Anyone on PC k ow if ds4 has native support for this game. Like, not using ds4windows at all??? Just plug n play???. Right now I am using my ds4+ds4windows with "hide ds4 checked" for pure Xbox compatibility.

Just curious if I can use my GAMEPAD without ds4w.

Having a ton of fun building shit at the Red Rocket. Nice to have a go-to place for everything, especially considering the place is so small.

How do the shops work? Do you get to buy stuff from your own shop, and are the prices good, or do you earn money, or what exactly?

So I just started playing last night (game looks fine graphically imo) but one thing that is really bothering me:

Powerarmor HUD Opacity. Where is it?

Is there a mod? Not seeing it in options. It sounds silly, but I really don't like how it goes transparent.

Two questions:

1) What is the first part of the Local Leader perk? Does this mean you can access supplies stored across all workshops?

2) To XB1 players: how do you take screenshots with the new dash? You double tap the Xbox button and the game auto pauses. :(

You don't remember them from megaton and FO3?

oh yeah its those guys, yeah they worship the bomb. this whole area is kicking my ass on hard, even at lvl 39. Im trying to get to the sheriff station down in the little cover and damn son

What does it mean when there's a ! icon next to Defense in the Data>workshop for Sanctuary and Abernathy Farm? I went there, my turrets are still up at Sanctuary, so why is it showing this?

Each settlement needs its own stuff, those places need more defence.

Although I'm at a point where I'm not getting it, my main hub only has 6 people after tons of hours hoping it would grow over time. Settlement doesn't need anything either, feels bad.

Also curious how to really grow a settlement.

Do we just build a bell and make sure we have a lot of resources(beds, food, water, defense, etc)?
Does it grow by itself?
What's the max #of people you can have in a settlement?

two Real life days later and probably over a dozen hours of play... I randomly found the Drunk I recruited casually standing around in my original, stolen Power Armor. Glad I saw someone post about pickpocketing the core earlier. Reunited and it feels so good!

did you put up a beacon to attract more people?

did you put up a beacon to attract more people?

Yeah, got them at most of my settlements, my personal hub (Castle) is up to six people but stalled out now with no needs by my citizens, was hoping I could build my own mini Diamond city and I'm sure it is possible just not sure what it takes.

Maybe I'll just keep playing and liberating places, maybe reputation goes up with each one or something it's all so vague, you should get mini quests at certain population to help explain it.
