I dislike how Ghouls look in this game so far, I liked in III and NV they were humans who appeared to have had their skin fall off, looked very zombieish. Here they feel like doughy mutated people.

Pretty funny random encounter I had while exploring: (NPC impostor)

Was far away from the Sanctuary, doing quests for BOS, when I scan with VATS and see Preston Garvey show up. I'm like oh...wtf is he doing here? So I go to talk to him and it's some impostor dude posing as him, asking for donations for the Minutemen. I never chose the conversation option "you're not Preston" because I figured that might either make him leave or aggro him, so I just told him I wouldn't give him money. Then I killed him. Figured he would be a synth or something but didn't find any components, he did have a minuteman outfit though which was odd.

Anyone actually know who he was or is he just some guy? I could've asked but the RP was too strong

Also I got a poisoned pipe wrench from a legendary super mutant, Bioshockin it up

Just got this beast of a rifle.

And I just realised I don't think you can modify starred items.

You put an optional thing into your dislike list? Why? Just ignore it if you don't like it. Some people do, but you actively wish it wasn't in the game. I don't understand that kind of thinking.

It's optional but it shouldn't be in the game because you don't like it?

edit: Zukuu read my mind.

So something is immune to criticism just because other people like it? I'm speaking for myself. There are also quests where it requires that you use the terrible interface to create radio beacons and a bunch of other shit like artillery to establish settlements. It's an incredibly poorly designed part of the game and they force it into quests.

I started playing at 5:30am today and just stopped. Last time I did that was GTAV on 360.

Great game.

lol yeah i played from.. from 9- 8 lol only did one quest... dat home plate spent 4 hours makin a home...

question is there any easy way to put stuff in a shelf not just the top... seems like you cant do it... PS4?
like why the fuck does all f the furniture have a transfer option like the magazine shelf???

lol then i found out you can redo your characters... face.. smh OCD that shit for another 4 hours...

got 45 hours only on the 3rd story quest...
smh

The building and crafting stuff, I feel like it could devour my life. I spent 6 hours on it today and didn't even notice the time passing.

Can someone explain to me how armour crafting works exactly? All the left leg, right arm, chestpiece stuff has me confused. When I wear this stuff I'm in my underwear with a few bits of metal clamped to me...
I bet that looks hilarious! you should post an image.

Well, I never saw the story campaign going like this.

quite a twist.

Just for that, I'd rate the story theme higher than FO3 and FNV. Not saying writing, but overall theme.

Well that was a productive 5 minutes.

A Fat Man,
Grognak's Axe
and the
Alien Blaster
all in the space of 5 minutes

blaster
is 5 mins from the
axe
? where?
i thought getting it was a fairly lengthy process. also is it one of those weapons that never gets any extra ammo?

How do you get the INI editing to stick? My FOV doesn't even change after following the guide to change/add it into the INI's it talks about.

In case people did not know, if you set up your own shops in your settlements, they produce revenue for you, and it's stored in the workbench, so check it out.

Of course you can. I use a modded hunter sniper rifle with the exact same (and best) modifier for 40 hours or so already. It does over 200 dmg.

I have the same modifier on the sniper but didn't see a way to pump the damage that high. I think mine is a bit above 100.

The modifier is nuts either way though.

Shit.

Got hit with a bug during the quest "Confidence Man".

When going to rescue Vadim in the Brewery, both Bull and his friend are set as essential, thus cannot die. They get down and shortly after return with full health.

I've checked Reddit and lots of people seem to have the same issue... they seem to have found a way to fix it using console commands, but I'm on PS4. :(

Anyone has anything that can help me?

Is there something that marks these as being base level items?
Boy do I feel silly.
You need to get an "under-layer" armor, such as "Army Fatigues" (my personal favorite), "Road Leather", "BOS Clothing", "Vault 111 Jumpsuit" etc. Some underarmor replaces certain stuff (like your leg armor), so those are not really worth it.

Well perks translate directly into weapon damage. I have 4/5 Rifleman and 3/4 Bloody Mess along with the weapon's best modifiers, which translates to 209 damage.

Question about settlements... my Sanctuary is nice and stacked, but I don't even really know how to get the other ones kickstarted. There's not enough rare resources to build necessary materials there, like the beacon and generator, and it would be a pain in the ass to collect and bring these materials to each and every settlement. Is there a way to make this easier? I see there's a Local Leader perk that mentions supply lines... does that mean I can use the junk I have stored at Sanctuary to build stuff elsewhere?

Those fatigues are my go to as well.

I use the "Dirty Army Fatigues" tho, I really hate the color of the normal ones.

Tbh, I just wouldn't bother with more than 1 settlement.

Oh no, I fast traveled from the
Comic book store
to the Beantown Brewery then the Alien ship is not far south of that.

I found myself surrounded by two Deathclaws, a regular and a Alpha. I took the next thirty minutes with a sniper and a pipe pistol and killed them by using the tower as cover and having them fight the crabs (which included a Legendary.)

Was hard as fuck since I'm only level 13 (well got to 14 from the kills.)

Feels like there is never anyone buying at my stores does it just need more people in general or certain requirements? Settlements in general do my head in.

Worth doing other companion questlines? Nicks just such a cool character I don't wanna go places or do quests without him and his commentary.

Oh hey I just told a story about this place the other day. The Alpha was a Legendary for me. Fun place.

Is it just me or is Piper's audio low quality? I finally got to Diamond City and every time she speaks I can hear some type of artifacting but I can't place whether it's from some kind of compression or just low bit rate audio files but it's definitely noticeable.

edit: Playing on PC.

You're awesome. Had to go defend Sanctuary. Now I'm heading back in.

I hope you found it. I just remember it being up high on a shelf, which is unlike anything else I've encountered in the game

- Everything to do with building and maintaining settlements. I tried to give this a shot and it's so poorly designed that I can't be bothered. I wish this more than anything wasn't in the game
- All of the companions other than Valentine seem dull and uninteresting
- The gathering of materials and storing of them seems poorly done. I feel like they could have designed this more intuitively

I've spent hours upon hours building and scrapping thank you very much. I'm very glad they're in the game.

I haven't had much chance to play this due to work. I have to ask. Are melee builds viable in the game? Anyone tried? I would love to see if you can pull off that sort of build.
