So is it pretty damn hard to upgrade your guns? Been playing for 20 hours and I don't have anything to really upgrade my gun and make it better.

No, it's not. Just invest your points into the gun nut skill, and tag any mats you're missing, you should find tons of junk while out exploring.

Pick up Raider Gears and take a loot at their stats, right near them there will be an minus or an plus icon, that means if the gear has better or wrost stats as the one youre using.

Also, keep in mind that using a suit (that includes chest piece, arms and legs in one piece of armor) is not usually a good idea. You will benefit more from separeted set pieces, wich are the ones that seems to be upgradeble by the way.
Two seconds after posting that I found some dead knight with a good hardened chest piece, probably still under level but so much better than what I had earlier

Btw I hate feral ghouls, I'm not use to enemies moving that quickly in this series

No it isn't. You need gun nut and science perks for the better atuff tho

I just hit level 26 and didn't get a perk. Is it perk every other level after 25 or something?

Also, finished the main quest. Now just futzing around. Is there a Deathclaw Lair anywhere? Want to see how beastly I really am . . .

Against Feral Ghouls use VATS and aim for their legs! Its really easy to hit and if you manage to cut it off they will fall on the ground unable to atack you! :)
After doing it they become quite easy enemies!

No. And its not a perk, its a point. You can get any of the SPECIAL stats instead if you want / need (up to 10)

Edit: I didn't mean that to come off so snarky :/

You guys want a weird bug? I had to go back 3 hours of saves because neither musical radio station was playing anything. Just silence.

I think mine has yours beat. I ran into an issue where no combat-related sounds (gunshots, dogmeat barking, raiders yelling, etc.) wouldn't play until I opened my pip-boy, at which point they would all play at once. It was kind of interesting to see that the sound of a gun firing fit this category, but the sound of the bullet actually hitting something (like a wall) did not.

I don't understand. Why didn't I get a point then?

Bug? Are you sure you didnt, open the pipbiy and go to your perks screen. Sometimes it doesnt show on screen (or I missed it in the chaos) when I level and I notice later i have a point to spend

I'm almost level 20, 28 hours in, still haven't gone near Diamond city, haven't really been doing any base building either. No clue what I've been spending my time on as I still haven't really done any noteworthy quests. I feel like I should just drop what I'm doing and go before I'm way overleveled for everything or something. Am I missing out on any mechanics by not going there yet?

two questions,

- why do I get the defense ''alert'' on most of my settlements when I check them with the pip-boy? When I go there it's fine, it's not in red as if it was lacking. I probably need more defense but I'm not sure WHY.

- I can't send companions to Sanctuary Hills anymore. why

Settlements have a cap - it's simply full.

Defense >= food+water (needs?) --> no alert anymore

I finally arrived at Tenpines Bluff. I was greeted by a beautiful woman by the name of "settler".

She asked me to take care of a raider threat at a nearby assembly plant. Little did she know, the real threat was right in front of her. I told her I would take care of it. I watched her walk away and noticed her nice, plump butt. She would be my first victim. She's exactly what I was looking for. A middle age, white woman. Her shack would also make a nice place to store the bodies. The idea got my excited and I looked down at my boner through my road leather pants I took off a raider earlier. Being frozen for 200 years makes you real horny.

I followed her and watched her tend her tato garden. She was bending over, showing off her delicious ass for the wasteland to see. It was time to strike. I equipped a pair of brass knuckles and punched her in the back of the head. She went down without a fight. It was too easy. I quickly disrobed her and dragged her lifeless body to her...my shack. As I stared into her eyes, I felt...bad? No, I can't feel like this. My wife was killed in front of me. My infant son taken away from me. This wasteland has no time for a softie. The good people die first. They will all suffer. All of them.

I needed more company. I needed another victim. I searched the nearby areas for potential victims. I couldn't find anyone. Did I kill the last person on the planet? Wait, I see someone in the distance. What the fuck. What I saw was no person, it was a mutated woman who must have gone feral from the radiation. I quickly disposed of her. I thought about bringing her back to my shack, but I'm not that sick.

It was getting dark and I decided it was time to go home, then I heard it, gunshots in the distance. I saw two settlers fighting off mutated dogs called mongrels. I noticed both settlers were female. Yes! They managed to fight them off, but were badly injured in the skirmish. I quickly went up to them and knocked them both out with my brass knuckles.
It was time to drag them both back home and it was getting dark.

I knew my venture back home wouldn't be easy. I fought off bloatflies and wild mongrels. Was there a higher being trying to stop me, stop my sadistic ways? Maybe god didn't abandon this wasteland after all. But no matter, I made it back home alive.

I brought them inside and laid them on top of each other. I'm tired. This was my new family. I lost everyone that I loved. I will love the 3 of them. Time to go to sleep.

I got near the mattress and....I can't sleep in it?! It's owned!?! Wtf! Looks like the god of this wasteland got the last laugh. Oh well, I can just sit in that chair over there. Tomorrow, I will go on the hunt again.

To the first I'm not sure, but it happens to me too. Sometimes the stats on that screen go wonky though, I had it show 38 settlers at the drive-in once.

The second, maybe you're at maximum capacity. I think you can have 10 people per settlement plus your charisma score. Something like that.

I dont really think carrying weight is much of a problem. After every big quest I deposit all my junk and verify my gear scrapping the ones I will not use. During the quests I just get most of the junk paying special attention to the ones I highlight, and just ignore repeated weapons and standard gears. When I get full I give evetything to my companion.

Found a holotape in a shack:
It's about a runaway girl who told her parents something on October 22, 2077 and her mom cried and her dad was shouting about how she should be ashamed. I'm pretty sure she came out to her parents and ran away the day before the bombs fell and her body is next to her suitcase. She died alone and scared.
:'(

Anyone knows the console command to level DOWN my character?

I think it's not possible. I tried it using the command to set a character level when I was playing on PC, and it gave me a message on the console saying downleveling wasn't supported or something like it.

No, it's not. Just invest your points into the gun nut skill, and tag any mats you're missing, you should find tons of junk while out exploring.

Ah, so that was my mistake. I tried the tagging system when I was looking for some food and nothing popped up. I'll have to try it with the mats to upgrade the guns and see if that's a little bit better.
