Greenman Gaming will not have Battlefront keys at launch

Sent in my refund request as well. Hoping I get refunded. Wouldn't mind getting that 30% off code, maybe they'll clean up their act a bit after this ordeal.

I wouldn't mind if I got my key right now but it's already after launch and I still gotta do the install. I think i'll just end up waiting for a bit since the game will likely go on sale soon, or use the 30% off code.

Not the end of the world as long as they also offer full refunds, and make getting a refund as easy as possible.

I wonder what this suggests about where the keys are coming from? Surely not directly from EA, but rather from some intermediary? Perhaps an authorised EA distributor, or perhaps an unauthorised distributor. If they were straight from EA, there would be no real reason for running out of keys.

I personally don't have a problem with any retailer selling games without explicit permission from the publisher, but it's best to be entirely upfront about this stuff.

GMG has run out of keys before (Sleeping Dogs pre-order), so that alone isn't a red flag, but the fact it used the phrase "We are working with more distributors than ever" makes it quite clear that, in this case, at least some of the keys are going to be from retail copies.

Already got my refund -- requested ~1 hour ago? They're doing it fairly quickly. Get your requests in if you want to purchase elsewhere.

I can't seem to figure out what this means if I didn't get the email...
I bought it last week, I'm in the UK if it makes a difference.

The silver lining: Servers are gonna be borked the first few days anyway, let's all be happy we don't have to suffer that frustration. :P

Bought from Mexico via VPN. Requested a refund from GMG, and received a reply and confirmation 8 minutes later.

Refund will take time to clear obviously, few days due to PayPal, but I've got the PayPal refund receipt so it's all good.

For all key issues the refund customer service is excellent.

EDIT: Refund is in my account. That was fast.

So far no one in the GMG Forum thread about this has gotten a key yet either. I don't think they were prepared to have anyone get keys on time, and we will all get it Thursday if we are lucky. The EU/AUS release is on Thursday so I think they need that release to get adequate keys.

I ordered August 16, btw.

Currently 10:20 Eastern Time Nov-17.
I ordered on October 14th.
Still no key.
I have mixed feeling here. On one hand they saved me $15. On the other they did kind of lie as to when I would receive my key. Then again they are giving me a 30% coupon. But then again I preordered OVER A MONTH AGO.
Idk.... I am just anxious to play this game.... which is not getting the best reviews. But then again it is an amazing looking Star Wars FPS!
Damn I am a mess right now.

It seems like GMG is not going to give anyone keys today.

Is Origin strict about the Mexican VPN shenanigans? I know Steam doesn't want you to use a VPN to buy games, but is fine with you using a VPN to unlock preloads.

No idea. Definitely a risk. On the plus side, I did get this!

¡Por fin llegó!

El producto que reservaste ya está disponible. No pierdas ni un segundo y ve directamente a la pestaña "Mis juegos" en el cliente de Origin. ¡Disfrútalo y no pares de jugar!

I cancelled my GMG preorder and went ahead with ordering on Origin. $15 is no big deal to me in the end, but it would have been nice if GMG didn't sell a product they knew they wouldn't have on release, as it appears they have.

Meh. A friend and I pre-ordered from there and while it's slightly annoying for me personally that I didn't get the game today, I:

1 - wouldn't have had much time to play it during the week
2- Saved a good amount of money buying it from there anyway
3 - got a coupon for 30% off anything I want

So yeah...

I wouldn't have played it much today either but it's the principal of the matter and no excuses should be made for their incompetence.

Also in their email they implied some people would be getting keys today, and the rest on Thursday, but it's looking like no one is getting keys today. Lies on top of lies.

No key or email here either. The wording on that mail is very confusing. It's not clear what getting the mail means vs not getting it.

We guarantee that every single person who has bought a copy of Star Wars Battlefront from us and receives this email will have their orders fulfilled and keys delivered before the end of THURSDAY 19TH NOVEMBER. Some of you will receive your key immediately, some a little later, but ALL orders will be fulfilled as promised.

So what do you guarantee if I didn't get the email, GMG?

Debating a refund. Mainly because the mail seems to imply that they are making no guarantee for people who didn't get the mail, but are not even telling there is an issue.

I gave up.
Ordered the Mexican version through VPN.
Saves a $1.00 and got to play right away.
Wish I had done that day one.
Only GMG e-mailed me and confirmed my refund.

I have raised a support ticket with them to ask what the situation is for those of us who did not get the email. Will report back.

Just did so myself. Hopefully the refund is prompt.

I will still deal with GMG in the future but never again for pre-releases.

I don't really care about launch, as I have no time to play this week anyway.

Yet I still asked for a refund because I just realized I have an old gift card for some retailer I need to make use of before it expires, and I could use it to buy SW Battlefront for €35 vs the 42 I paid at GMG.

refund got approved within 4 minutes :)

still <3 GMG

I never preorder games, just look for codes/discounts online on release day and you will find a deal somewhere. Haven't paid full price for a game in the last ~2 years.
GMG is a great site.

I got my key just now and it activated fine.

This has been quite the fiasco, but I'm still going to shop at GMG because of the money it saves me. In the ~16 years I've been shopping at Amazon.com they've fucked up my orders a few times too so I understand that sometimes shit happens.

Also got hit with this delay, got my refund and bought the game through El Origin.

I'm not going to swear off GMG or anything, but this does give me pause considering future preorders with them, especially for EA games.

Got my key this morning and it is now dloading on Origin. Taking a step back, I only lost out on not being able to play it last night. For the trouble, I got a nice discount on the game and (supposedly) will get a -30% coupon for a future purchase. I ain't mad.

Well, they dodged the question about the email, but said that keys are (understandably) going out to NA customers today, and that everyone else will get theirs on 19th. I hope that turns out to be the case.

No sign of my key yet, but I didn't get that email either. I have no idea what's going on.
If I get it by lunchtime that's fine because I'm at work all day anyway but I can pop home to kick off the download as per my original plan...

I haven't got my key either. Ah well. I guess I can manage to wait a day or two. GMG has saved me a lot of money over the years, so I'd be silly to complain over this. Still, I can't help but to feel a bit disappointed.

just got my EU key

literally a few minutes before I leave work.

so in the end, apart from the preload, it came on time for me.
not a catastrophe for me, but still
