Is this game good? Not a musou? Or is it one?

It was one game. Meanwhile we're getting a ton games now from genres, publishers and regions traditionally under represented on PC. So weird bruh.
Weird to say during the year with the Arkham Knight disaster.
Could you play this online on PS4 because online seems to be missing from the product page.

yep even with its various problems BAK still runs much better on PC than on Xbone (at least from what i played)Plus, AK was better on my PC than on either console.

Interested to know this as well. If it's just arena like as Musou with a DQ coat I'll pass. If it's a full fledge JRPG, I'm in.
Imagine something like Hyrule Warriors, but DQ. I think you'll be passing on this game, then.
i would say its jRPG with musou-like battles instead of usual turn-basedInterested to know this as well. If it's just arena like as Musou with a DQ coat I'll pass. If it's a full fledge JRPG, I'm in.
So Dragon Quest Heroes is a slow, epic role-playing game crammed into the shape of a lean, seemingly shallow action title. It exchanges the fantasy of methodical turn-based combat against a small group of opponents for slashing through hundreds of enemies a minute. It seems at odds with itself.
It's also a blast, far and away one of the most interesting games to come out of the Dynasty Warriors mold.
......
. Instead of fighting legions of the same nameless soldiers, Dragon Quest's bestiary provides dozens of different monsters, many of whom force you to modify your strategy (if only slightly) as you go. If you just mash buttons into a knight holding up a giant shield, your attacks are not going to have much effect. Flying enemies require waiting until they've lowered to the ground to unleash your attacks. And certain giant enemies, like cyclopes and trolls, can be difficult to defeat unless you use strategically placed cannons on the battlefield to weaken them.
I can't. Haven't played Hyrule Warriors.
I would read reviews, but I'm at work and only Neogaf works here. From your post, sounds like it's a Musou game then.

Thanks guys.
I don't hate Musou games. They have interesting settings and a fairly fun formula, but it's so janky and mindless that I lose interest quickly.
They're pretty back-loaded. There are a lot of boss fights at the end of the game and not so many before that.Watched a few videos and liked what I saw. Specially the big boss fights that evoke a little bit of Monster Hunter. Are they frequent?
I was so busy on DOTA 2 and NBA / NFL threads the past few days that I never knew this was coming to PC.
Edit: Wait, was this announced a while ago? or just now?
Is the i7 CPU requirement for real?

They swear it's not a musou, but apparently it's the best musou game that's come out in years.

I say this as someone that Platinumed it today. The mission design is atrociously bad, probably the worst I have experienced in a Musou game ever. Extremely grindy sidequests, little to no challenge until the endgame.
Post-game was alright, had a lot better and harder quests, but man does most of the story campaign suck. There's no difficulty selection, so the vast majority is just piss easy. I literally, without exaggeration, fell asleep while playing. I eventually just stopped applying skill points and getting new items just to make the game a bit more engaging. Then that all gets thrown out the window when you figure out Terry's stunlock combo.
It's sad, because it makes a number of good improvements to the formula and it could be way better with the sequel, I just was bored to tears playing it, and I like Musou games.
I think, put next to Hyrule Warriors, DW8, and Warriors Orochi 3, I'd recommend those three games first before I'd recommend DQH.
As someone who's played all these games.. yeah i agree, I do hope we still get DQH2 though with some changes, I'd like to see why theres a need for 4 player co-op (online) added, since with the current setup it'd just be a useless gimick. I'd recommend this at a $30 or less price though.![]()

I might actually check this one out just to support further Square ports to PC and I've never played a game in this genre before.
If it doesn't support resolutions >1080p, I'm refunding instantly. Going to spend the extra money for the Steam version to have this ability.
Graphics options supported for high end PCs:
Rendering resolution
Shadow processing
Glare adjustment
Turning movie scene playback on and off
Number of characters displayed
Draw distance
Texture Quality
Support for both full-screen and windowed display modes
Support for a maximum frame rate of 60fps
Support for full HD display at a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080
Locked to 60 fps and 1080p? Welp.I was just looking at the store page on Steam, and I'm afraid were're going to have to refund it:
It sounds like it'll be a 1:1 PS4 port.

Modders to the rescue, I guess.

Considering it's a Tecmo Koei port, that's much better than what people would expect lol
I thought that was the fidelity of the PS4 version? PS3 assets at 1080p/60fps?Yea if it's actually 1080p and 60 FPS with the graphical fidelity of the PS4 version I'd consider that a step up from normal for them.
