No, but elements of it were implemented in Dragon Ball Xenoverse like Time Patrol Trunks, Mira, Towa, etc.
However, the events in it are so far out, spanning more than a hundred years, that you can consider it canon if you wanted. Do whatever the hell you want. It's just that it won't fit under the Super canon.

Trunks was nearly SS2 he just had to find out how to not get really buff. Buu would never get revived in Trunks timeline since he isnt an idiot and would be able to defeat Dabura.

Most of the backstory additions in DB Online seemed like they were specifically written to set up the MMO aspect of the game: Buu spawning a wife and an entire race of Buus, Nameks being conveniently all displaced to Earth, the humans having Saiyan blood thanks to crossbreeding with the Z Fighters' descendants, the Z Fighters having had a large impact on society even though they always prefered anonymity in the manga/anime, etc. These events just seem strange if taken out of the game's context.

I'm relieved. Some of the expansion of BoG was worthwhile, but a lot of it was making me lose interest until the last few. They could expand on RoF without making it *too* long.
And all the cool crap is right around the corner from RoF anyways, so I'm excited to be done with it.
Goten and Trunks would be weaker than Buu anyway. They're SSJ1 level, Buu went toe to toe with (and was stronger than) SSJ2 Vegeta.

At this point, I don't think so. People considered it canon because Toriyama had some creative involvement, but it was never exactly clear how much he contributed. I've been able to find some information about a couple of specific details - like how he was the one that came up with the different Namek types, with physical changes,like different head crests, rather than antennas, and also facial markings. However, considering how many of those setting elements clearly were designed with the whole MMO aspect in mind, it's very possible that even the Toriyama created elements won't be used by him in the actual new stories. For example, if we see the Nameks again, I don't think we'll see some of them with those new design templates from DBOnline/Xenoverse.
Yes, they were weaker in the Buu Saga itself, and the End of Z established that they were still weaker by that point. But I referenced that because it means that, if Super is sticking with the End of Z, Goten and Trunks can never become stronger than Buu, unless Super goes past the Z epilogue. Super manga spoilers,
If they were going to participate in the Universe 6 tournament, it's very likely they'd get some kind of power up that would contradict their status in the End of Z, but with Buu going and those two not participating, it lines up with their status there.

Something that disappoints me is that we totally missed Frieza's training and it seems like, apart from Goku and Vegeta showing initial bursts of Blue SS power, we won't actually see them reaching that form for the first time due to the time skip. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Although in the Super version of the story they apparently will have problems with the elite of Freeza's army, since they also did Freeza's training regiment and got big boosts from it according to the spoilers.
Anyone else really bothered by the fact that everyone's so skinny now? Freeza looked practically no different from that Chilled guy or whatever from that shitty Bardock movie.

Generally, if a line doesn't sound right, it's because of bad translations. There's actually a 'fact checker' on Dragon Ball sites because of them causing confusion.
Might as well tell people to give up on everyone not Goku and Vegeta with that attitude.

Petty much. Its frustrating 3 saiyans are neglected, piccolo fell into power creep unfortunately and the humans well..yea
Maybe in your opinion - and that's fine - but Dragon Ball has so many other characters that many fans, including myself, would like to see in the spotlight in a similar fashion to what we saw during the first 3/4s of Z. Piccolo getting some love after so long is a step in the right direction, but it shouldn't end with him.

I really don't see any of the humans getting a significant power boost at all. I'll be immensely surprised if they do.
One thing I wanna see is Mr Satan learning to manipulate his Ki energy funnily enough.
The story in Dragon Ball Heroes is so ridiculous but I think I like it lol.
