I also question the logic of "You need to stay here and protect our human daughter in case the world blows up". Err...

Get Chichi to babysit, if the world is at stake, a fighter as capable as 18 should be there.

Movies like History of Trunks and Bardock: Father of Goku are perfect because they are character stories, the world is scaled down to accommodate characters other than Goku as the protagonist. The recent Bardock specials were an example of the exact wrong way to fix this problem, doing the exact opposite and making previously unique characters shadow Goku's development just because.

The only transformations that have been done out of anger are SSJ Goku and SSJ2 Gohan. Also, Dragon Ball? Edgy? The only time I would ever say that would be at points in the Cell arc, which shows that being edgy isn't Toriyama's forte.

For what its worth, I think Frieza is legit one of the best villains in anime/manga <3

As for the most recent episode, I thought it was pretty good. It seemed others were down on it but I thought it was good. It did adhere strongly to the Resurrection F plotline but there were noticeable changes/improvements (SSGSS is hinted at and Tagoma lives to actually contribute to the story). Freiza seems to mention he has a plan to deal with the Dragon Balls but at least nothing has been hinted with regards to the failsafe that he and Sorbet had devised in the movie. God I hope that plot point doesn't come up (and that the ending gets changed because it was bullshit). I'm appreciating the quick pace (the BotG material was stretched too much IMO) but I was disappointed we didn't get to see any of Frieza's training regiment - that would have been a nice spot to embellish.

BoGs and RoF were movies though. People already complained about the power ups that did exist being underwhelming or rushed. Attempting to add stuff to the other characters likely wouldn't help things.

Frieza was always my least favorite of the big three villains, but I think that was a result of the dub being so bad during the Frieza saga, the constant delays/reruns, and the really dragged out pacing of what was essentially just a lot of Goku fighting Frieza.

I don't know. I just find Goku and Vegeta incredibly unlikable. I know we aren't really suppose to relate to them because they are crazy people who value combat prowess above all else. But that's why Gohan was an important character throughout the series. He actually cared about everyone around him in an earnest way. Yeah, he didn't want to fight but he grew to understand the importance of setting his feelings aside and doing what was necessary (Cell games Gohan anyways). I always wanted one scene were Goku/Vegeta were just fucking around once again with a powerful enemy and Gohan just shuts that shit down.

EDIT: Trunks was a similar character... but that dude was such a bitch.

Vegeta is a pure blooded warrior, that's the type of Character I like, and lets not pretend that Vegeta hasn't gone through the most character growth out of any DBZ character

With us in the midst of the RF arc, can I just say that the FUNimation "Frieza" spelling bothers the hell out of me? More often than not, it's spelled incorrectly as "Freiza" anyway, so why not just say Freeza? It fits the actual pronunciation better. We don't pronounce it "Fry-za", so why spell it that way? Also, you might as well embrace the pun as almost every character name in the franchise is a pun of some sort.

That was done for trademark reasons. I guess the name "Freeza" was already trademarked for toys/action figures so they went with an alternate spelling.
