It could be argued that they were catering to political pressure. But I also sort of feel like it's equally reasonable that they realized that the old costumes were over-the-top and -- even if you want sexy girls in your fighting games -- fairly hideous. Opinions are subjective and all that, but even if you're in the market for hot chicks, I kind of feel like you're barking up the wrong tree citing the MK9 designs as something you'd like to see more of.

Not sure what he's talking about specifically, but one thing that was how Fallout 1 and 2 allowed the player to kill children. That was removed by Bethesda in FO3 and other games since.
Also, some people have suggested they removed slavery in FO4 for similar reasons, but I'm not sure if it's 100% absent. I've yet to see everything in FO4, but I've haven't seen any kind of prostitution or references to it either.

I just visited a Ghoul Farm in FO4 where a ghoul wanted to repay me for collecting tarberries by getting squishy with her. I mean the series was never exactly explicit about sex or nudity in the first place. And really I'd wager most of the stuff in FO4 is a victim of them stripping out RPing in general, not sexual content.

Not sure what you mean by the Dragon Age thing. It's always had pretty blocky/clunky armor. And DAI has a romance option that involves you getting a creative design on your pubic hair. I don't see how they've gotten less explicit.

DT2 discussion was banned because the discussion was never about the game and always about the sexualization of the characters. Probably a conversation to take up with a mod. I know nothing about the title you mention. I just stop talking about something if I'm told it's a no-no. Or at least I try to. I don't have a clean ban record myself. If I doubt the person telling me so, then I confirm it with a mod.

Well, Japan isn't exactly the most progressive country when it comes to women's rights and expectations.

That being said, I'd say they're more progressive in some aspects of freedom of speech, particularly on the BS that is obscenity laws and the Miller test (in my opinion of course). However, that doesn't mean people that consume certain types of media aren't seen as outcasts. There's just a more "live and let live" mindset than here.

Every time I see such a title brought up, someone points out it's a no-no, and the conversation around the title ends.
