Who's the best villain in the current MCU?
And do you think there is someone on the horizon that can take the throne?

Why do they all have K in their name?

Kingpin. Easily the best written character in the Marvel Universe. I enjoyed KIllgrave as well, but Loki really needs to be put down.

Grant Ward is also up there (at least as far as Season 2, which is what I've watched). I like him better than Killgrave mostly because he has a more defined arc. Kingpin is the current best followed by Loki.

I really like Loki but feel like I'll have to go with Murdercemetery for this one.

He was just so sinister in Jessica Jones.

Ranking them by their role as an antagonist, or how much of a threat they were to the hero: Kilgrave > Kingpin > Loki

Though in terms of how I enjoyed them as a character it would be Loki over the other two. I think Kingpin and Kilgrave both overstayed their welcome by the end.

I couldn't take Kingpin seriously. Someone needed to tell D'Onofrio to tone it down a notch; what a fucking ham that guy is. Pitching a wobbly-chinned shitfit in his best Cookie Monster impression in every scene.

Loki loses points for being terrible in Avengers. He was all about generic "you will bow before me" blah blah blah crap in that movie. He's great in both Thor movies, though.

I enjoyed Kyle MacLachlan's Mister Hyde as much as those listed.

And I love Grant Ward so much, even though all he's done this season is stand around various warehouses until this most recent episode.

Kingpin ended up being a chump.

I'm halfway through JJ, here's hope Kilgrave is worth the hype.

Yes, he did, but I think that was the point. Daredevil S1 was the Kingpin's origin story as much as it was Matt's. We haven't seen the true Kingpin yet, only the catalyst for him.

Yep, I kept hearing people praising this amazing actor and I watched it and just thought the guy didn't know how to act, I actually thought "This isn't the real Kingpin right? This guy is a decoy or something and the real Kingpin is behind the scenes somewhere"

But nope, he was a terribly acted character throughout. and then I saw the same actor in Jurassic World and thought "maybe he'll be decent in something else" but nope, he was pretty much the same.

I thought Kingpin himself was a decent character, but he wasn't a very threatening villain, especially compared to Kilgrave whose ability was just endlessly dark and dangerous from beginning to end.

Just a normal guy in a suit with some power over the local area, wow. For a marvel villain it was somewhat weaksauce.

I feel like Loki's strength is almost entirely in Tom Hiddleson's performance. He kills it, and makes a rather average character on script really stand out.

Kilgrave is probably the best written, IMO, followed by Kingpin.

Stane was scary though. Really well acted and directed.

Ohh forgot about Mister Hyde. MacLaughlin nailed that role perfectly.

I have faith Ward will do some dope shit this season... that airplane scene was too good.

Why did you think the role was poorly acted? Also yes the Kingpin is a NY based crime lord I don't know what you expected.

That was Kyle Maclachlan character in Agent of Shield. Best villain arc of the MCU.

Oh man, I hated his character. Complete and total bore in every scene he was in. Was so glad when they finally wrote him out of the show and I can only hope that they don't entertain any thoughts about bringing him back for a guest appearance.

Interesting. TV part of MCU really has better villians, all thanks to Netflix.

Kingpin and Killgrave were both magnificent. Ward is OK-ish, nothing to write home about.

Kilgrave is the best villain in the MCU brehs, Tennant brought that raw Ether. I doubt he will be topped anytime soon. Netflix or otherwise

1. Kilgrave
2. YellowJacket
yeah i said it
Stoll was Underrated IMO, A+ tier actor
3. Kingpin

Kilgrave is probably only behind the joker IMO, he was a better Villain than any other Superhero show or movie airing know,
too bad he was slightly wasted

Kilgrave is easily one of if not the best villains in all superhero tv show/movie.

God damn psychopath who is evil, cruel and dangerous at the same time.

I dont think I really want to label any of them "best".

Kingpin was so weird. He seems like he was suffering from severe autism considering his outbursts and Wesley acting like his caretaker. Then there was that final episode. I still can't decide if it was a good direction or terrible.

Great addition, to the thread, well done.

Ultron was my favorite so far.

.

WhedonJoke Bot 2.0 is your favorite? Is Malkieth on your list too bruh? lmao

None of them.

MAH BOY IS THE BEST.

Look at those cosmic gains. He punked out that chicken-leg day skipping motherfucker Thanos to become the COSMIC GOD OF GAINS and gain access to infinity steroids like a true boss.

Kilgrave. Dangerous power and a psycho!
And his power is just so wrong. I haven't finished the show yet but I could imagine the rapes, murders and how he profited from everyone...

Purely in terms of being terrifying, Kilgrave is at the top of the list. A sociopath who views people as tools to be used and exploited, who can make you do anything with a command.
