Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

Between waiting the last few days (before the extension) and waiting the last few days again (after the extension) worked out for me, as I ended up having some money to put in (grabbed the $100 tier).
Congrats on reaching the goal.

So relieved this reached its goal. I haven't seen quite such a coherent, well-conceived and intriguing design for a female video game character in (what feels like) ages.

Soukaigi was an awesome soundtrack, but I still personally prefer JDK's work over Kikuta, as far as RPGs go. I hope the final dungeon of this game has a track that rivals this track from Trails FC/SC (to be fair, this is an arrangement of it) :

The Fading Light of the Sealed Land - Sora no Kiseki Zanmai

Looking forward to what Kikuta can cook up.

That's definitely a great piece. Can't wait to hear it when I finally get to that part in FC. ;)

(But it's probably not fair to compare. JDK has a great deal more experience in the genre and they're stylistically very different from each other.)

Yeah, to be honest, Kikuta's style is perfect for this particular kind of game and the setting they're going for. I'm just a huge fucking fanboy and if I ever had a chance to get a Japanese artist to do a soundtrack for a game I made it would have to be Falcom's sound team.

Well, especially when they're inventing conspiracy theories because they didn't remember something.

Even tried to suggest we got Polygon to edit the campaign launch article after we did this supposed edit to the campaign.

I'm reading right now that guy's tweets and I can only say lol.

Pffffft oh wow, "I can't be wrong, there must be shenanigans afoot!"

Maybe this guy's from the Berenstein timeline

Wooot! It happened! Congrats, Ravidrath and L0!

no Valkyrie Profile by the TV this time though

Is that the Super Smash Bros. 4 soundtrack case next to the TV? Perhaps a sign of things to come?

I just really wanna reiterate my relief at this. After spending so much time fussing over the progress of the campaign, the security in the knowledge that this game is being made is really energizing.

Props on these first stretch goals. They're not NEW GAME MECHANIC or BONUS STAGE, but natural production value increases from having more funds. Not selling the game piecemeal.

A perfect fit for a campaign that has gone beyond in being transparent and ensuring that the base goal is for a complete game.

(Note that I'm not against stretch goals expanding the content side, it's just an overdose of them that doesn't feel very serious to me)

...New thread for new News?

We have some ideas for those, too, but they'll be released in a free post-release update.

We want to do some of that stuff, but don't want to delay the game a ton because we increased the scope so much.

Wow, that sounds great!

I don't want to sound like I'm coming down too hard on content goals, heh. But as a backer it gives me confidence that the base goal doesn't immediately extend into more stuff, as if the game won't actually be complete without them :)

Yeah, basically, half of our stretch goals are fluffy things that generally improve the game and can be mostly outsourced.

The other half aren't so fluffy, like multiple endings and an online co-op dungeon, and would likely extend the game's schedule. So we'll instead target them for a post-release update.

Sounds perfect to me!

You need a stretch goal that lets you guys throw yourselves a big party for all the hard work and stress.

Physical backer rewards are sent from the US, correct?

That means taxing is insane into my country. That hurts so much, I'd love a physical copy.

Holy...

IGG data says that we raised $186k today.

We may need to actually manufacture and ship the physical game in the territories they're ordered from, so... you might be OK?

Yeaaah I definitely can't see the OP happening, but that Kikuta stretch goal can definitely be hit!

Maybe not by the end of the campaign, but we have the post-campaign "slacker backer" period.

Aww...

Trying to decide whether I'll want to play the two Valkyrie Profile games before this comes out. I've never touched the sequel and only played maybe a few hours of the original back in the day.

If you do, you can emulate the NTSC PS1 version through ePSXe or get the PSP version for a PSP (or hacked Vita with PSP exploit) or emulate that through PPSSPP. Here's my recent shots with ePSXe and the Natural vision shader:

VP2 can also be emulated through PCSX2 with some stunning results. Essential:
Enable Special Game Fixes -> Tri-ace Game Fix. Set Skipdraw=1 to avoid scan lines in cutscenes. The first forest area is messed up, but only for the two screens you have to go through. You can enable the minimap to navigate the two screens or alternatively set the render mode to software, which supposedly let you play the area without any artifacts and bugs. Here are some of the results

Congrats to the LabZero team! It looked like it ended up being a bit of a struggle, so it's good to see the game funded in the end. Not really my thing if the prototype is anything to go by, but I'm happy for you guys.

Wait, really? Because as long as it's within the EU I should be fine in regards to our insane taxing laws - so if that really is the case, I think I might actually get the physical instead.

Funding for the game should still be allowed after the goal is reached.
Stretch goals could be for an expansion with extra characters for example.
