Looks like some stupid gossip magazine writer wrote that.

A real shame, but fuck it - that mask is fuckin' boss. It's perfect.

And I knew that the body part of the suit will look better for the final version of the movie unlike the trailer, but it looks perfect here now too.

Those motherfuckers making fun of mah comic bewks!!!

The "meow" actually made me laugh. That Black Panther suit is fucking bad ass, though.

How are the numbers for EW readers/subscribers in this day?

Yeah's it's annoying, but the only people that will see it are housewives and people bored in line at the grocery store who forgot their phones at home.

Of course they would dehumanize and remove the balls of a powerful black man.

I can't even even. SMDH. Really? Taking the BLACK PANTHER and suggesting there's something feline about him? They're literally dehumanizing him. EW can fuck right the fuck off with this fuckery. Still, your unexamined assumption that power is a masculine trait associated with testes is problematic and needs interrogating. SMH.

Guys, I think you're taking the whole race thing here too far.

EW just make shitty ass covers. That's it. Their X-Men covers almost made me not see the damn movie.

Also, the meow thing is kinda cute.

Entertainment magazine pushing black panther as a cuckold fantasy

My first thought exactly. lmao

EW isnt aimed just at housewives though. Not sure where people get that from. It's a general pop culture entertainment magazine. There's been more comic book/action movie characters on their covers than not lately. Including video game reviews.

It's probably not aimed at majority of gaf for sure though.

'the cover is no big deal, though a cover in the past almost changed my personal decision.'

I think you need to slow down

That's not what he said at all.

Well, yeah. Almost ;]

lol i like it, it's pretty funny. not sure why the negative reaction to it.
BP is supposed to be serious business.

Not feeling what they've shown of him thus far. Just looks like another side character in a basic ass costume, highlighted by the fact that the first thing they do is show him in broad daylight. He needs to look more regal -- the cape would help some. Marvel movies just don't have the tone or the visual chops to fully realize that kind of character.

The sad thing is... I like the cover like I said... and sure when it comes out without all the text will be nice to see.

But the text... is just so questionable.

Also notice that the top of the cover teases the new "Creed" movie, but it says Rocky is back in the Oscar ring — it mentions a white character, not the black character who is the protagonist of the film.

EW is racist af

There's been a ton of Oscar buzz about Stallone, thus the Creed tease.

In the trailer, he's leaving Cap in the dust sprinting and taking on Bucky, in a trailer where we see Bucky beating down Iron Man.

Yeah, they're making him look like serious busines

It's a comic book character. It's not serious business. And I disagree about his look or the Marvel movies not having the visual chops or tone for Black Panther. Civil War, like the Russo's Winter Soldier, has a very different tone from the other movies in the MCU. I'm sure Panther's debut in Civil War will garner him many fans. The costume looks great to me, even in daylight. Not sure what you're expecting, but Panther's suit in the comic books is mostly a "basic ass costume" ... made of Vibranium.

No one cares about Stallone's performance. He's white. Means he's taking the spotlight away from Michael B. Seriously, some of the nonsense people spew.

I think Meow should've had his mask off along with the others. It looks great though. I like how he is between Captain America and Iron Man. It also shows that he is a major player in this movie to be standing with the two heavy hitters in the MCU. I think Marvel has a lot of confidence in the character.

Bruh this a big budget movie of course it's serious business

Why the hell they are trying to do to Black Panther on that cover. Meow? Really and the claws remark.

Here's my hypothetical. Not a justification either.

Marvel insisted that EW have Black Panther on the cover. EW thought scary faceless dark dude would turn off the female audience and lead them to believe this was a dude's movie. So the added the "meow" and Real Housewives reference to grab eyes of the folks interested on the show, and to also say "Hey, Black Panther isn't a menacing black man, he's just a big ol' pussy". Marvel signed off on the cover, of course.

Again, not my justification:
EW isn't marketed to men, i.e. you guys, you fucking nerds. This cover is EW trying to grab housewives and women to the screen. Black guy isn't going to make women comfortable.

Black men are big scary monsters that are unappealing to virtually all married women ever, got it.

Has Marvel even released any promo material of Black Panther without his mask? Not sure why people are blaming Entertainment Weekly for this.
