wow...

Im still gonna watch the movie...but man oh man

that trailer just killed the movie and hype for me

The tone was so all over the place...Jesus Christ.

That was pretty bad. It's like if the first movie in the MCU was the Avengers...except worse. Low expectations for this movie.

Batman looks awesome though.

How many people are going to superhero movies for their finely, densely, intricately layered plots.

Anybody?

Raise your hand if your major in to superhero films, or superheroes in general, is the strength of their PLOTTING.

Get 'em up there, guys. Lemme see ya.

While that's fair, I don't want to see all of it in a trailer before the movie comes out. Did we really need to see Doomsday? Or that WW saves Batman in a fight with him? No and no. But if you really need to defend a shit trailer you've got some work to do in this thread.

The trailer felt disjointed.

It was going well until Lex Luthor opened his mouth. Yikes. He doesn't fit the ~gritty tone of the movie.

Wonder Woman popping out of nowhere was... random.

It's like the Director was too busy with Affleck and Cavill and just gave Eisenberg the old Superman films and told him to watch how Gene Hackman did it.

Lex seems like he's trying to hard.

Was that the Batvoice in the middle? not a fan if so.

whole "she with you" exchange was so awkward compared to the tone of the rest.

batman with a gun?

Wonder Woman looks pretty cool at least.

hopefully it'll be better when not in a bad trailer

never thought i'd be more excited for Marvel films

Kinda funny seeing how diverse the opinions are. 1 will say it looks great, then 1 immediately says it looks bad, etc...

Don't know why I find it so funny, nothing wrong with it. It actually feels like people having opinions, and not blindly praising or hating on it.

I personally liked the trailer though the editing was HORRIBLE for the trailer and am unsure about Batman holding the gun. Although, I am assuming it isn't really a normal "gun" since a gun wouldn't hurt Superman, let alone Doomsday.

Movie looks really fun. Really excited for this.

Watching the trailer a second time though, yeah the music/editing is pretty awful. The cut at the end from the joke to EPIC CHOIR TRAILER MUSIC feels like something out of a parody video.

That trailer was insane like a guy on drugs made it but in a good way. A lot like the long-form 4 minute long Comic-Con trailer, it was very unique and dynamic in the age where making trailers is a science. Awesome stuff.

This should finally quiet all the people decrying it as gritty and edgy eh?

Felt like Eisenberg's Lex flies a littel too close to Joker's archetype. Pitting Bats and Supes against each other is perfect Luthor.. but introducing their Non-Hero selves to each other while making jokes is very Joker.

It looks like they use Zod's brain in the engineering of Doomsday. Brilliant way to bring Doomsday out.

Brilliant introduction to Wonder Woman. Supergirl tries so hard to espouse a strong woman but it's over done with dialogue whereas Wonder Woman coming in and saving Batman's (perhaps BOTH Bats and Supes!) does all that in one shot with zero dialogue. Damn amazing WW entrance.

I'm still going to wait for this to hit Blu Ray to rent because I'm not yet sold on the investment of the series... but this trailer has definitely lessened my doubts.

I'm not someone who complains about spoilers in trailers.

But I thought the ending of the trailer got a little too spoilery.

Anyways, I'm beginning to warm up to the trailer.

I do love their attention to detail:

Metropolis is shown to still be in the process of rebuilding (which makes sense after all the destruction from MOS), something that a lot of superhero films tend to sugar coat.

I saw the trailer twice. Pretty fucking awesome. It's not a brilliantly edited piece of promotion like Man of Steel trailer 3, but it got the job done. I like everything that I'm seeing. Lex looks like a standout.

I like how this trailer does a 180 from the last.

Cavil can't act and Ben Affleck appears to be doing his angry man face.

Only good part was Lex. Doomsday looked god awful.

Please take another 2 years. We don't want Fantastic 4 2.0.

Was getting caught part of your plan?

Dawns on me that this movie might be awesome. I mean, the last two Superman films had amazing trailers and were crappy movies.

This is a crappy trailer, maybe the movie will be amazing...

Wow. I loved the last trailer because it seemed to be a dark movie. Setting up a true battle between two heroes who share different/similar ideals. It seemed like everything was building towards that. It was edited well and had consistent tone.

This one stsrts pretty well with the Bruce/Clark interview then rushes to show us the popcorn pieces of it. The movie doesn't look terrible, it just looks kind of typical in this already generic genre.

Still hoping for the best but this really wasn't a good trailer for me. Really enjoyed that little dream sequence from a few days ago too.

The last trailer was so good… This one is just so mediocre by comparison.

They really should've never showed them teaming up in the trailers. Really dumb decision.

Movie still looks fun to me though.

What a terrible trailer, Lex Luthor completely threw off the tone of the entire thing with his lame joke. Doomsday looks like trash. The 'I thought she was with you.' exchange was awful.

Can't believe they tried releasing this trailer after the Civil War one.

Except for the entire plot of Daredevil sorta ;)

But I do see what you're saying and agree.

I just find it ironic that someone who clearly knows nothing in regards to what these films are based off of is so quick to defend them.

That's not how irony works.
I also happen to know a fair amount about superheroes.

It's how I know plotting isn't super-important to a superhero movie (or super-important, period, most of the time) and that whatever it is we've seen in this trailer isn't "the entire plot" anyway.

But if you really need to defend a shit trailer you've got some work to do in this thread.

Not even defending the trailer, really, if you notice. Just pushing back against the idea a) the plot is all that important and b) that a large amount of it was actually given away by this commercial.

That Trinity shot made me laugh though.

Wonder Woman is looking really serious and Superman doesn't know what to do with his hands while Batman is lookin' scared with his rifle. All while blaring trailer music in the background as the shot lingers for a few seconds.

Whatever this movie becomes, at least I'll have Man of Steel.

Lex seems awful.

This is really my only real complaint. I'm optimistic about everything else, and give them the benefit of the doubt for just releasing a bad trailer for what could be a fun movie. But this Lex and Leto's Joker are really bumming me out.

You actively have to try to make a Batman v Superman movie look bad; and somehow WB is doing it, mainly by shoehorning a thousand fucking characters into this movie.

It is not a shoehorning of thousand characters. It just seems poorly acted and directed from this trailer. I cannot imagine how anyone can not cringe at Jesse Eisenberg's acting. He literally looks like he does not give a fk.

I'm getting Spider-Man 3 vibes from this trailer, too much going on. It's already busy with lex, batman, Wonder Woman, now you add doomsday as well?

keep it simple stupid!

Lex looks corny as hell, they should've just gotten Marc strong and be done with it.

You do understand this is directed by a director that is known for doing films with a lot of characters. Were you complaining that Avengers, Avengers 2, Iron Man films, Captain America Winter Solider all had to many characters or to much going on?

I'd sure like them to. The Dark Knight is my favorite superhero film, and I think the action in it isn't much to get excited about. If we're going to be given twenty superhero movies a year, it'd be nice if they occasionally had something interesting other than how a punch is delivered or what costumes the people standing next to each other are wearing.

That being said, I think this looks like it could be fun.

Yeah sorry, but if you know anything about Doomsday and the DC universe you'd realize that Doomsday is such a boring character. Them "saving" this cardboard character would have done nothing and no I don't want to see Death of Superman in live action, it would make him coming back even dumber and convulted.

If they did a DOS film they could have broken the mold on that and actually just let Superboy take over. Or hell just leave him dead, it's not like they actually want to give him another film.

Instead they just kinda took one of the 5 Superman villains everyone knows, to beat up in the last third of the movie.

Yea so not watching it. I've actually grown to like Afbat but Sups still sucks ass and Luthor is beyond awful. Then they confirmed some rumors in regards to past enemies of sups and yea no interest.

It's definitely going to be an anti-Kryptonian weapon of sorts. I'd put money on it.

And yeah, the amount of chest-puffing hatred seems almost spring-loaded. It's ridiculous.

yeah they should have just repurposed that with some more footage for December. this was much worse.

more hyped for suicide squad tbh. unless they make that trailer corny as hell too.

Some of y'all are acting so genre unsavvy I have to wonder if you've ever seen a movie before.

Straight up.

"Oh, I can't believe they showed Doomsday! Now I know that Batman and Superman aren't going to kill eachother!"

DUDE.
