Did people complaining about all the VS "tension" being deflated now forget the movie is titled "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice?" As in, Justice League, which is getting a movie after this? As in, the superhero team that includes Batman and Superman? Or that Batman and Superman are both heroes that fight together and have done so for decades? Did people just forget that stuff and think Batman and Superman were going to be mad at each other forever?

I was under the impression that Superman uses his heat vision and kill Batman.
Everything's ruined now.

Yup, still not feeling this movie. It looks like a typical Zack Snyder movie, it's just all over the place.

That Wonder Woman introduction was just really cheesy.

It's what Frank Miller always wanted.

You guys who think they didn't reveal the general entire plot of the movie are bonkers.

Like they're going to drop DOOMSDAY out of nowhere and have MORE surprises following that? Even if that were somehow the case, the movie would be way to goddamn bloated.

Give me a year ban if this movie doesn't end with them all teaming up to fight doomsday.

So they reduced Doomsday to just a filler villain in a movie that isn't about him just because the movie had to have a villain? Well besides Lex I guess. Mweh :/

To be fair I don't follow DC so all I know Doomsday is from Death Of Superman

He's a character with no depth. He's literally a tank that doesn't talk and has one mission, to kill. He's the very definition of a throwaway villain you waste when you're trying to focus on other stuff in the movie.

He wasn't alone.
Where are the colors?
I think this was the first Snyder trailer I did not love at first sight. Wonder if he cut it or not.

The trailer felt disjointed.

It was going well until Lex Luthor opened his mouth. Yikes. He doesn't fit the ~gritty tone of the movie.

Wonder Woman popping out of nowhere was... random.

Trailer was cut so strangely that it felt like it belonged at Comic Con as a teaser reel. The Batffleck voice works pretty well and he's obviously going for a different voice for his "Bruce Wayne, playboy millionaire" persona.

I really haven't been following the news for this movie. Eisenberg is Luthor? Zod gets resurrected as Doomsday? Not sure how I feel about this. Also seeing someone other than Bale as Bruce is a little off-putting though I don't think Affleck did anything wrong in this trailer. Wonder Woman reveal was kind of meh on the hype-o-meter but that may have just been due to how the trailer was edited or whatever.

I feel like I just watched the entire movie.

This too. One of the most "reveals the entire movie plot" - like trailers I can recall in a while.

Hype deflated for me. Thought the first trailer was good and this just killed it for me.

I'm in the same boat. Nothing in this trailer worked for me. I liked the tone of the last one that came out over the summer, this looked bizarrely rushed and flat.

I want to see the whole Clark and Bruce exchange in the context of the film. I thought the clown line was dreadful, like they're expecting me to lean over to my neighbor and whisper "Hehehe, he's alluding to the Joker there...The BATMAN villain." And then Lex came in and made it spiral even more off. It could work depending on the lines surrounding it and where in the movie it is. But the representation in this trailer was pretty weak.

That's some bad dialogue. Shows nearly every major plot point. Guess I don't even need to see it at this point.

"reduced"
I mean, if he is only going to be a third act villain for this movie (Which I don't think he is, I think he'll get away somehow and play a part in one of the Justice League movies) then that would be a pretty big downgrade for the character.

okay dude. i mean it seems like it's going for the same tone that avengers and company went for.

i was hoping the teaser/comic con trailer was more indicative of what they were aiming for but this seems kind of less "gritty" and more in line with the usual comic book movies i've been seeing.

at least the money shot at the end was cool but meh, not very happy about this trailer.
I wish I had your balls though.

cuz in all honesty, there are some criticisms of the MCU I wish I could say here but would just get dogpiled on.

What? All I meant was I though Doomsday was supposed to be a big deal, but maybe not? All I know him from is Death of Superman where he was, in fact, a big deal

He's basically just a weapon that is physically stronger than Superman. There is nothing else really to him. He seems like a perfect candidate to this. Someone who they'll have to team up against to beat... hence the foundation of the Justice League. You don't build Doomsday up at all, but it will cement Lex as a super villain.

You dont get it. We knew they were going to team up. I think most people however wanted that moment when they team up to be a surprise to see at the theater and not in a poorly edited awkward trailer like this.

It. Was Never. Going To Be. A Surprise. I'm legitimately shocked that this is becoming an honest point of contention.

Was getting caught part of your plan?
So we add a little bit of much needed levity to a DC film and now its tonally inconsistent. Huh.

My biggest problem with the marketing and this project in general is that it's turning into a grand fanwank.

More so than Star Wars in my opinion

DC has no clue what they're doing. Zod being turned into Doomsday is fucking dumb. And news flash, he fucking kills Superman. Having Doomsday already is dumb...we know he won't kill Superman this time. Eisenberg as Luthor is poor casting, but what's new for DC.

Does Lex Luthor famous entrepreneur know the name of some rando new hire?
Seriously why the flying fuck are you nitpicking this shit
ITS A TRAILER, and we don't even know the context of what's going on in those scenes

Again - how is this "ruining" anything? Especially in light of what the LAST trailer showed?

I never said anything was ruined. I said it wasn't necessary to give that stuff away. As others have pointed out, they've now shown that Batman and Superman team up to fight someone else. So it takes away from the tension of the previous trailers. It wouldn't have been my choice if I was editing that trailer.

That's some bad dialogue. Shows nearly every major plot point. Guess I don't even need to see it at this point.

How many people are going to superhero movies for their finely, densely, intricately layered plots.

Anybody?

Raise your hand if your major in to superhero films, or superheroes in general, is the strength of their PLOTTING.

Get 'em up there, guys. Lemme see ya.

. As others have pointed out, they've now shown that Batman and Superman team up to fight someone else.

Of course they fuckin' do. You don't even have to like comic books to know that's going to happen.

STOP SHITTING ON MY MOTHER'S HEADSTONE
goddammit this is why trailers suck.

Gave too much away.

Now we KNOW Doomsday is in it and it completely takes all the tension from the bat/supes conflict out of it. Like yeah, we know they would resolve their shit eventually, but come on...

This is all over the fucking place tonally. And I was fucking stoked.

Agreed 100 percent

It's a weird one, yeah. Seeing Clark & Bruce flip shit to each other was probably the best part, but even that was kinda weirdly stilted.

I LIKE Eisenberg as Lex, though.

The last few moments with Doomsday and "I thought she was with you." just flushed it for me.

And to think, I went to an IMAX showing of the BvS trailer so I could get tickets to an advance showing of the movie.

Joke's on me... :(

That was a really awkwardly cut trailer, the banter wasn't very witty. And I'm cringing at using Doomsday. The throwback line to DK Returns was the best part.

My least favorite trailer so far.

Overall, I liked the last trailer better than this one, I think. Still gonna go see this movie, though, pending reviews. It would be an insta-watch but Man of Steel didn't really grab me. This scores 70s or better, I'll probably catch it in theaters, though. And I expect it will do that.

Doomsday is the villain that killed Superman in the comics (yes he got better) in the 1990s. He was pretty much invented for that purpose.

Huh, interesting. I'm going to go ahead and assume he's not going to pull that feat off in the movie, right? Well that's cool.

Yet going by twitter reactions. People are creaming their pants. People literally just want to see these people on the big screen, fight, team up or whatever and be entertained.

You average movie goes isn't expecting this to change the way we view films.
I guess. I'm just working out my thoughts about this trailer because I haven't seen a trailer this bad in a while.
Also your last point is boring. Doesn't mean it has to be "turn your brain off crap"
