I saw the trailer twice. Pretty fucking awesome. It's not a brilliantly edited piece of promotion like Man of Steel trailer 3, but it got the job done. I like everything that I'm seeing. Lex looks like a standout.

Yeah it needs some Zimmer for sure, and better editing. Trailers can give quite different idea how movies is, but this is was not best trailer.

One thing is for sure, for me, Lex is cast bad.

Is everyone saying the film was spoiled because Doomsday was a secret to this point?

No, mainly because I feel like I know the whole plot already. Batman sees disaster, hates superman, meet, whip out their dicks and measuring tapes, batman dream sequence, they fight, luthor laughs evily while delivering expository dialogue, batman and superman realize they shouldn't fight/luthor does something dumb to break it up, luthor extracts secret ooze from zod and makes doomsday, they need to team up to fight him, apparently losing, batman about to die, wonder woman steps in saves batman, fight, win, justice league? yay!

It is not a shoehorning of thousand characters. It just seems poorly acted and directed from this trailer. I cannot imagine how anyone can not cringe at Jesse Eisenberg's acting. He literally looks like he does not give a fk.

Yeah wtf is with Lex acting like something out of a Mr. Beans kid movie.

Lex luthor reminds me of electro from the amazing spiderman 2. Not a good thing.

The trailer was far too fast paced, i couldn't tell what was going on most of the time.

Some of the jokes, while corny, made me laugh.

DOOMSDAY
was fucking sick though and having a four way fight with
him, wonderwoman superman and batman
shouldbe rad.

I thought it was an ok trailer.
Seems like it was rushed in editing though, like WB just ordered one to get people talking about something other than Civil War. The SDCC felt more epic in scale and that's probably why I liked it more.

Ben is gonna nail the part of Batman, I can feel it.
You know how everyone was like "Yo, when you see Jesse as Lex, he's gonna surprise everyone!" Yeah...that's not gonna happen.
Why in the blue hell would you blow your load and show Doomsday in the trailer?
Wonder Woman looks badass.

I think Superman dies at the end of this movie and they need to figure out how to bring him back when
Darkseid invades

Lol at the people complaining about Doomsday... he looks like a faithful representation of his comicbook counterpart:

It's pretty faithful though you could say, why didn't they include those outward protruding teeth.

That's not how irony works.
I also happen to know a fair amount about superheroes.

It's how I know plotting isn't super-important to a superhero movie (or super-important, period, most of the time) and that whatever it is we've seen in this trailer isn't "the entire plot" anyway.

I'm checking out of this now. Feel free to bash the little intricacies of my literary uses within my posts to distract from the points I'm making.

I have no reason to believe you have ANY understanding of superheroes or their arcs based off of your last post. And just for the same reasons you can argue "we haven't seen the entire plot of the film yet", I can argue otherwise.

Its a zero sum argument. So lets just drop it. You've made your points and I've made mine. I'm just willing to take a ban bet over Doomsday being the entire third act/ending of the movie and using him as a vehicle to bring bats and supes together...Which that would in turn essentially give the plot away if I was correct, no?

I do love their attention to detail:

Metropolis is shown to still be in the process of rebuilding (which makes sense after all the destruction from MOS), something that a lot of superhero films tend to sugar coat.
Well it seems to be a major theme of this movie (the destruction Supes caused and the populous' reaction to it), so it'd probably be jarring if they DIDN'T include it. Still pretty cool.

Did people complaining about all the VS "tension" being deflated now forget the movie is titled "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice?" As in, Justice League, which is getting a movie after this? As in, the superhero team that includes Batman and Superman? Or that Batman and Superman are both heroes that fight together and have done so for decades? Did people just forget that stuff and think Batman and Superman were going to be mad at each other forever?

No way.

There's totally the chance that one of Supes/Batman/WW will die in this movie. That's why Doomsday is in this movie, to kill one of them.

Bad parts:

Lex seems like a goofball.
Cavill still hasn't learned how to act.
Trailer seemed poorly put together.
Giving away Doomsday.
Awkward looking shot of the three heroes is awkward. Seriously, reshoot that.

Good parts:

Supes: "If I wanted it, you'd be dead already." Like a boss.

Overall, still mildly excited for the movie, but that wasn't a great trailer.

Personally, in a movie with vs. in the title, knowing exactly how a group comes together and for what cause from the second trailer is quite dissapointing.

This is the worst part about the trailer. They fucked it up and now there's nothing to look forward to.

Part of the journey is finding out the reason why they decide to stop fighting and team up. In Avengers, we all knew the in fighting was going to stop eventually but the big difference is that none of us knew the reason why they decided to do that until we watched the film.

Yea, but its Doomsday...

Awful villain choice.

Einsenberg playing Einsenberg again.

This trailer seriously crushed my hype. Doomsday looks like a turtle/troll.

I don't like the Batman voice.

Can we bring back
Nolan

doomsday looks more or less how i'd expect him to in a film tbh, such a boring character though. hopefully he never shows up in a sequel after they whoop him.

when's the batgawd just gonna have his own film, snyder free too. give it to ben to direct and throw in leto joker and we got a stew going.

-Shitty editing with bad music placement
-Eisenberg just looks like a total miscast
-Doomsday design is awful
-Why the fuck are they spoiling Doomsday in the trailer?
-Cavill looks stiff as fuck in this trailer and gives off the appearance of a horrible Clark Kent
-Wonder Woman looks thrown into the movie haphazardly
-Did I mention how bad Doomsday looks?
-Trailer laid out the entire film

Trailer sucked any sort of hype I had for the film, right the fuck out.

Getting a real Joel Schumacher vibe from this trailer. Nothing felt real. Costumes, sets, dialogue all seemed off.

Say what you want about Synder but he can cut a trailer and theres no way in hell Synder approved this.

Usually Zack Snyder trailers get me hyped but these past two have done nothing for me. I don't know if that means the movie will be horrible or good.

Ohh gaawd. Doomsday vs those 3 will cause soooo much destruction in this movie lol. If the ending in Man of Steel is anything to go by this will be insane.

Also Luthor sounds very twisted. Affleck and Cavill are great.

Everything but Lex is great. Really wish they could just find some bald headed, caramel skinned brother and have Clancy Brown read all of his lines while he pantomimes everything else.

So they reduced Doomsday to just a filler villain in a movie that isn't about him just because the movie had to have a villain? Well besides Lex I guess. Mweh :/

To be fair I don't follow DC so all I know Doomsday is from Death Of Superman

Outside of the Death of Superman, Doomsday has rarely been used to any great effect and is frequently a pawn of someone else. I'm fine with them using him here. The "Death of Superman" story arc is such a fucking mess that I would never want it adapted. Doomsday is a large enough villain to have name recognition while also being enough of a reason for the Trinity to unite in a fight.

However, Doomsday isn't that huge of a villain though. Other enemies are either too large of a threat (Braniac, Darkseid, Imperiex, Mongul) to do outside of Justice League or too relatively minor or character-centric (Parasite, Joker, Metallo, Ares, First-Born) to do outside of solo films. Doomsday is a happy medium and will probably get asses in the seats.

-Trailer laid out the entire film

You do know it's 2015, right?

We have had what two years now and people still don't understand that Eisenberg was cast specifically to play a Zuckerberg type Luthor

Some of y'all are acting so genre unsavvy I have to wonder if you've ever seen a movie before.

Straight up.

"Oh, I can't believe they showed Doomsday! Now I know that Batman and Superman aren't going to kill eachother!"

DUDE.

I believe some are upset but some people have made it their mission to shit on this movie no matter what. People complained previous trailers were too serious. Now you get a trailer that shows variety and flows well for the most part and now it's "tonally it's all over the place"

My only complaint is the shitty ass music they used. Other than that I actually like Jesse as Lex

Who would have thought that we need to add "too campy" to the bingo card

I feel like people built of this expectation (one they complained about constantly) that DC movies moving forward would be uniformly dour and utterly without charm, and then one pulls out a few funny lines and they're like "fuck you, stay in your box."

I'd sure like them to. The Dark Knight is my favorite superhero film, and I think the action in it isn't much to get excited about. If we're going to be given twenty superhero movies a year, it'd be nice if they occasionally had something interesting other than how a punch is delivered or what costumes the people standing next to each other are wearing.

That being said, I think this looks like it could be fun.

I don't necessarily disagree, and I especially think more movies, PERIOD, not just Superhero films, could do with much smarter, cleaner, more efficient storytelling. But then again, I don't think the plot to Batman v. Superman is really "spoiled" by learning

They team up to fight a major villain
Lex Luthor is bad
Wonder Woman is there to help.

Nor do I think that collection of details is particularly out of bounds as part of a larger story that people gladly accept as being "a good plot" in any other superhero story.

Is it a SPOILER ALERT to guess that Cap and Iron Man are totes going to make amends by the end of Civil War rather than fight to the death?
