After watching it a bunch more, I like it more than my first reaction. I still feel like they should've stopped at about the two minute mark, before giving away the third act of the movie. I guess they really wanted to show a clip of Wonder Woman being a badass. The jokes were so-so. I think this is going to play well, I'm sure it's going to be in front of Star Wars in two weeks and we'll get to see how it does then.

It's definitely a badly edited trailer but I actually liked a lot of the content. Affleck looks better the more we see of him and the humour worked pretty well. Doomsday looks a bit odd and I'm still not 100% on Eisenberg as Lex though.

People saying this movie will be pretty bad have to be kidding. DC/Warner Bros know they need this movie to be a success and they need it to set up the future of the franchises. They made the right move in getting a new writer to redo the script. I doubt Ben would sign up for a shit movie at this point in his career. He has no reason to take this role, he doesn't need it. The movie may not be perfection, but I do believe it will be a good movie.

Nah, makes total sense.

Superman: "Hey, Lex, me and Batman realized you were playing us off of each-other. I'm here to arrest you"

Lex: "Well, if man can't do it, THEN DAR DEVIL WHEEL DO HEEEEEET"

Cavill: "( ͡°╭͜ʖ╮͡° )"

That angry face is killing me, there is a image somewhere of a cat doing that expression lmao.

doesn't this disprove the reddit rumor?

in that,
doomsday just shows up to attack the trinity in metropolis.

actually, the ww reveal actually also disproves it--
in the reddit rumor says that ww first meets them in the batcave, whereas the trailer shows that its while they're fighting doomsday.
Bruce seems to have met her beforehand, hence the photo of them dancing.

If I were to guess, I'd say she has a vision of an apocalyptic future and realizes she needs to intervene. Approaches Bruce in the Batcave and tells him, perhaps even forcibly, that he needs to stop this vendetta. He puts a tracker on her or something, follows her to some black-tie gala as Bruce and says "I know who you are now."

The entire time under the impression she wants him to stop because she works for Superman or is similarly strong.

Wanting and trying to make a film good doesn't always succeed this post is nonsensical.

That looked pretty bad. Facebook guy is hamming it the hell up and a couple of moments that could have been cool in the movie have been thrown out in the trailer.

Why do you think it wasn't?

Same show, one week later.

So I'm to assume 'soon' isn't just a nebulous time frame?

You're really paranoid. The movie comes out in 4 months. They probably also don't get to call of TV hosts and say, "we're getting Ben Affleck on your show on Wednesday, let him on, here's money". Probably scheduled more in advance.

While this was a poorly edited trailer, I'm still confused as to how everyone was spoiled about the team up. It was inevitable.

The DCAU and DCCU have fundamentally different premises and tones. The former is a pure comic book fantasy world where costumed heroes and villains are already well established; the latter is a quasi-realistic world where the entire point seems to be that superhumans are only just publicly emerging (as is the MCU, to a slightly lesser extent).

But... they are not. Batman from the DCCU is an already established character that has been fighting for years and already has his own gallery of villains. It's a world where Joker already exists (and is imprisoned), Robin probably died, and things like Killer Crock roam the streets.

Perhaps. I'd like to believe they weren't sitting on this trailer for months.

I mean, I think we all knew it was coming eventually, but to see it so blatantly portrayed in the end of the trailer like nothing kind of marginalizes the whole Batman vs. Superman thing in its entirety.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
Trailer was flawless. Hype level is maximum. Zack Snyder is the GOAT. Batfleck is the GOAT. Girl Gobot is the GOAT. Doomsday is the GOAT.

I'm gonna have to buy two tickets when I see this. One for me and one for my erection.

What about my boy Kal-el?

Dude looks insane!!

Batman has no powers and it's unclear exactly how publicly he operates in this universe.

I mean, by all indications, the entire conflict of the film is about the world deciding how to deal with the existence of superpowers. Not sure how you'd watch MoS and the trailers for this and conclude that this is a world used to dealing with this sort of thing, but to each his own.

Doc Holliday

SPOILER: Columbus finds America
It's ironic people moaned like hell about Affleck, but from the trailers he looks like the best part of the film.

By far! I would be a lot more excited if this was just a Batman movie without Superman, Snyder, Luthor and Wonder woman.

He looks more like comic book batman than Bale or any other movie batman.

I actually hated this trailer. It jsut looks so loud and dour, and between Batman apparently cracking down so hard on crime Superman is concerned, and Superman chaining up Batman, threatening him, and generally acting like a creepy bad guy, I'm not really empathizing with anyone in this trailer,

...where are the heroes in this superhero movie?

Even with Civil War, the heroes turning against each other is positioned as Captain helping his friend.

And I dunno, this is a movie with Batman vs. Superman. AND Lex Luthor. AND Wonder Woman. and apparently Aquaman. And probably other things I'm forgetting. And also, now we have Doomsday. I really don't know how this script doesn't end up a muddled mess,

So you hated The Avengers then?

I never understood this. He's the best actor in the movie(Jeremy Irons aside, not sure how much he's in it). Him being the standout of the trailer didn't surprise me one bit. But, happy to see he's proving people wrong that were so upset over his casting.

While I won't say it was a bad trailer, this wasn't an exciting one. Watched it three times back to back and it just does less for me each time. Also not a fan of the whole revealing the third act thing. Seeing Bats and Supes working together I don't mind (though I don't think it was a good idea), but showing Doomsday was stupid.

Having seen the first trailer at SDCC, my hype for this movie was through the roof. Even against my better judgment, I was expecting possibly one of the best comic book movies. This trailer has deflated that hype quite a bit. I honestly don't think I'll ever bother rewatching it, outside of them showing it before TFA.

The trailer is badly edited , that much is certain.

There are a couple of wth moments tho

1. How does Clark as a reporter NOT know who Bruce Wayne is? It just defies logic that he wouldn't have a single clue.

2. They establish a triangle early on with lex,Bruce and Clark. But WHY does lex even know Clark? Why is he on a first name basis? Way to convenient .

Badly edited trailer that shows too much of its hand. They got nowhere to go now to draw in more hype or outdo themselves.

CA CW still has Spidey and vision and others to showcase.

Well, I mean, he might know who he is by reputation, not necessarily by car/looks.

Time could have passed between MoS and BvS. Clark, being a reporter, might have interviewed Lex before

Well this is the third trailer for BvS compared to CW's one. This is OT but I hope marvel does the right thing though and not show Spidey at all in a trailer. Maybe Holland out of costume at most.

Batman vs Superman: The 3 Minute Cut.

All that's missing is a voice over explaining the entire plot as you also watch highlights of it. Very 80s.

They still have Aquaman. And they can actually show Wonder Woman doing something other than standing there. I'm sure they can show her off doing some great attacking moments or teaming with Bats or Supes.

You mean Marvel Studios, the same company that spoiled who Winter Soldier was BEFORE the film came out? And don't give me that 'everyone knew' rhetoric. Only comic-book fans had a clue who WS was, and Marvel was touting that twist in trailers and TV spots before the film came out.

Let's not act like Marvel is any less shameless when it comes to their trailers. Only reason they haven't put the real villain of CA: CW in the trailers is because no-one outside of comic-book land knows who the fuck he is/he's not as iconic visually as Turtleday.
