Oh.
Wow.
Wow.
Oh, there's some cool ones, no doubt about that. Thing is most are either stuck in the 16 bit era or have art styles and/or mechanics I'm not really fond of. Right now, the only one that I'll always give the time of day to is Zeboyd. Any other games I'll give a look and try out, but I'll remain skeptical.
I will say that I'm very interested in some recent JRPG-style game Kickstarters that have visuals equivalent to PS2 era and up, but while what they promise is really cool, the possibility of them delivering on it seems pretty low.
Visually stunning.
But is it really a remake of FFVII if they turn the core gameplay into yet another kingdom hearts / FFXV style action rpg?
No.
They should have made it a spin off if they were going to change the fundamentals of the game so much.
I think you would love Darkest Dungeon, check it out.
Modern XCOM and Divinity OS deliver great turn base mechanic coupled with stellar production value of what people visioning from turn-based game with modern prod value, altho they not really have something like JRPG fan enjoy.
Back to topic, I still think if this remake play with a lot of micro management and you're not defense/evade like in normal action game its not actually too far for my liking. Less janky XII combat can be awesome.
So much this. Just wait on it, maybe it'll grow on you.I think as a fan, you should at least give it a chance.
In fairness, Square hasn't inspired much confidence in recent times. So much this. Just wait on it, maybe it'll grow on you.
Also that fucking reveal trailer literally said trust us.
Did they mention the engine yet? Looks like UE to me.
Yes, kinda. If you look at the last scene in the trailer the sword kinda clicks on his back.Watching the trailer again and suddenly wondering how the hell that sword ever stuck to his back.
Magnets?
ohlawd said:holy shit, can't wait to see Tifa
Can't wait to see the whole cast
Or ya know... maybe what they showed in the trailer is literally everything they got. LOL.
To be fair, getting what they've got in the trailer would mean that they have most likely their entire asset pipeline already in, along with most of their other core engine features and technologies. The combat segments showed some fairly complex animation and physics behaviors that, while probably still needing optimization, speak well to the major features already being in place.
Granted, for an RPG that still leaves a lot of work to do be done, but it's still a pretty great place to be in, development-wise.
Source? I missed this. I thought it was Luminous only?
Oh man, I read this as 'can't wait to see her whole chest.'
Has anyone posted this?

It's a youtuber reacting to the demo (warning to headphone users).
Imagine watching the conference and you see yourself in it.
Your bias against FFXV is pretty clear now. Also FFXV is coming out in 2016, what about FFVII: Remake? It won't be out until 2018 at the earliest. So yeh, plenty of people will care about a game that they can actually play next year, and when they will reveal the date + trailer in the March event.I like how FFVII remake completely overshadows FFXV now. Who even cares and as excited for the latter after this.
So they've got the guy who plays Jet in Cowboy Bebop doing Barrett's voice. Should be good.![]()
Fangirl material still going strong.Yeah, "lame tortured Cloud" gimme a break:
I don't see it.
I'm guessing the answer will be "yes" but having never played FFVII, should I get the original on PS3? I'm not necessarily going to be playing the remake.

Why does Barrett wear sunglasses
Barrett it is dark how can you see

Lol when is the last time squenix made a good FF game or just a good JRPG in general? Sorry, some of us know better than to get too excited. I mean fucking OP said he/she was shaking. What the fuck?! That's weird as hell.I think as a fan, you should at least give it a chance.
FFVII Remake:
GC 2015: Final Fantasy VII Remake wont run on Luminous Engine
FFXV:
Not official source unfortunately, but I had a conversation with another developer. (sry for the wrong english)
Me: As i know, FFXV use Luminous Engine.
Dev: No. The FFXV use hybrid engine (LE-UE4). The Square is licensed the UE4, because the Luminous is not working. They tried, but it is not working. The used parts must be included into the UE4. They have a license, which fully edited, altered. Of course, therefore, pay a lot more than others, but this is also an option at the Epic.

'Dumbed down version'? Fucking really?Exactly my thoughts. FFVII is my favorite game. No matter how pretty this dumbed down version looks, I'm worried that playing it could ruin FFVII for me. I actually might skip it and only watch my favorite summons on youtube.

Hmm from what we know SE is still using Luminous Engine for FFXV
Interesting... Because both games looks very similarFFVII Remake:

I'm not writing it off entirely personally. I can't speak for anyone else. People are gonna have to make the decision depending on how this turns out. If its even just decent I will probably skip it. If impressions are really good I will pick it up. I'm still very fond of of the PS1 FF games and I don't want to tarnish that at all.I don't think that giving it a chance is unreasonable. Sqaure Enix had some management changes over the years and maybe this game will be good. There is no guarantee of course, but writing it off entirely seems unfair.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say they couldn't get his eyes right in time for this release. Will he keep them on for the entire game? I don't know. I also don't care if he does or doesn't, he's still a badass either way.
"Prior to its rebranding and full move onto eight-generation consoles, Final Fantasy XV (then called Final Fantasy Versus XIII), used lighting technology from Luminous along with a purpose-built proprietary gameplay engine."
I think that is indeed the takeaway. They've have been constantly showing some tech demos of XV mentioning that's it's running on the Luminous Engine but I don't know. If what you're saying is true then LE is even a bigger failure than Crystal Tools lol.
