Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

600 zeny in 2 months ... sounds doable, I hope

Problem will be at the end of 2016 .... when I will probably play less SF5 or at least have less offline stuff to do =P
 
My internet is not even that good to trade 6 dollars into 600 zeny in 2 minutes =P

But probably the first day/week will give lots of fight money

I don't understand these comments. FANG is better than Rufus in a lot of ways. At least he has a completely new moveset compared to all the characters, that's pretty unique to him.

That would be disappointing, as I've been saying, but it does seem more and more likely indeed. Maybe they'll follow in SFII's footsteps even more and make us fight Balrog, Vega, Fang and then Bison in order, just like the stage is suggesting (though Balrog would have to be included as an unplayable character at launch for that to work of course).

I really had hoped for a new boss, or for Urien as boss though...

For me it's the extremely narrow (and as such, cartoony) head / face that makes him weird / stand out from the rest. I'm not minding his overal look or playstyle at all, just to be clear, just that he looks a bit off from the rest of the cast because of the shape of his head / face. As said, this might just take some time to get used to though.
 
I don't blame you. I don't like his head, or his voice for that matter. But I love everything else about him. I'm mostly fascinated by how tall he is compared to everyone else.
 
Really like FANG. He's goofy and strange so I guess he will be very divisise, but he's right up my alley. Hope he's fun to play, too.
AFAIC capcom got everything right with their newcomers this time.
 
Where is Akuma and Gouken Capcom? Where are they?!

Seriously, pretty happy with this roster as a starting point.

I'm not saying he sucks(I don't care about Rufus either way for the record) just that he definitely sticks out.

If bison gets to come back, because his soul burned with evil. And Gouken can avoid death by having no regrets, gouken can come back dmnit. The former, bison, didn't even have a damn body if you remember, akuma destroyed it.

They had already established Bison switched bodies in the Alpha series before they made anything about Bison dying to Akuma canon. Granted it's still pretty stupid, but it was an excuse to keep a character playable, not make a character who had always been dead playable.

They might come later, or in Akuma's case, he still might be in the base game somehow, going by that recent Ono tease.

On a side note I'm also still holding out hope that Capcom will at some point make a new SF game that is set before Alpha and that features a young Gouken and Akuma as the main two shotos instead of Ryu and Ken. Goutetsu could then be the older shoto that teaches them, and we could have an all new boss who in some cool ways would tie into the events of Alpha etc. Heck, a young Sagat, young Rose, younger Gen, pre-Psycho power/Shadaloo Bison and even Dan's father Go Hibiki would also all be easy picks for characters to put in there. Anyone taking notes for SFVI here, Capcom?

People didnt guess them, the characters were leaked through datamining of the PC beta. The picture preview came afterwards and people tried to match the leaked list with the silhouettes.

By the way I'm still confused how that last one can be Urien. The character looks very bulky, with an unrecognizable head, and seems to wear pants (looks like clothing folds near knee and ankle). The silhouette is either misleading on purpose or he got a redesign.

There was no trace of Akuma in the datamined game files while they contained references to the 16 launch characters and to the first 6 dlc characters.
 
Looking forward to ibuki and juri.
I'm starting to think that my approach to dlc will be to buy the characters I want when they come out and just use fight money to get the ones I don't care about plus any costumes.
I'd happily use fight money for the ones I like too but I figured throwing Capcom some money will help keep the DLC coming beyond the initial wave(s).
 
Perhaps each Season has a story mode

Maybe Bison is the Boss of the initial release
Urien is the boss of Season 1
Akuma is the boss of Season 2

The story for Season 1 is Guile going out to get Urien for brainwashing Charlie. Perhaps Balrog betrays Shadolo for Illuminati and he is a henchman. Juri also maybe is working for Illuminati now. Alex can also have some story which is linked to Illuminati.
 
I'm so mixed on who I want to use. Can't wait for the beta for that reason.

Chun is a definite, but I also want to use Vega, Karin, Ryu, and Bison.

I learn the games best by focusing on one character at a time so this internal conflict is huge.

Word. I will have no problem maining R. Mika (who I always liked), and I am going to LOVE to play Alex again (he was my main in Third Strike), but Cody and Dan have been my primary characters for a long time now. I played a lot of Alpha 3, and I played a lot of SF4. I would kill to see either one make the cast.

I'm maining Karin. Will sub Nash. Possibly Rashid and Fang. Maybe Ibuki when she comes out.

I think that's probably going to be the go to strategy for most unless they really have the fight money flowing in, myself included. I'm interested in seeing how much we get, I think I'll be hitting this game hard enough I might not have to worry about paid characters at all, but it really depends.

Also have to make a cheeky comment about how much of a generic old man Fang ended up being :)
 
Here's a question, will characters you don't buy still be playable against as NPCs? I.E I assume these 6 dlc characters will appear in each other story modes and maybe the original 16 if there stories get updated throughout the years.
Can I face Ibuki in Arcade mode without buying her? that's what i'm hoping at least, that you are only paying to use the character not gating them off completely

He just looks off compared to the rest of the cast especially on that new stage. His bust almost looks like it's phoroshopped in as a troll job.
 
I'm already set on maining Rashid. Ryu, Alex, and Juri will be my secondaries.

I'm only going to use my fight money to buy the characters I want and costumes for the characters I use. I have no reason to buy anything else since I'll just be sticking with these four characters and whoever interests me in the next batch.

Heh, yeah, he's not an old man but the important thing about him still stands: I have no interest in playing him and zero to negative hype for him :P

Again though, it's fine. I have Mika to main, Karin to play and Ibuki and Juri down the line. I'm pretty set for SFV unless they add an awesome female newcomer down the line or Ingrid :3
