Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Hurry and unveil guile!!! I need to see
That depends on if they're going in the order of the silhouettes. If so, Guile would be second in line to be released (which isn't that long of a wait since he'd only have to wait for Alex to come out). Though in a way, it would make sense to do it in silhouette order since Capcom did catch wind of Alex's demand, which would justify the possibility of Capcom & Dimps prioritizing Alex for release.

This should be the official cover!

Ugh, it is too beautiful to be the boxart for a video game. I remember reading an article written by someone in the industry (Ken Levine maybe?) about how bland box art sells... So depressing.

I think this art convinced me to finally try making sleeves for my game cases; this art's too good to be ignored, and Ryu making a V with his arms, while cool, just pales in comparison.

So this means that Ryu is the only "classic" shoto. Ken is a lot more fast-paced and offensive as compared to his previous versions.

I am really digging this lineup, I gotta say. There's a character for everyone, even at launch. (except maybe the ultra-defensive types)

Dhalsim and Fang

Dhalsim, I can understand.

Haven't seen much F.A.N.G gameplay but is he really a defense-oriented character? I've heard he has good mix-ups.
He's the type of zoner that fills the screen with shit. Watch Combo demoing him vs Mike Ross

He has offensive tools too but his focus seems to be keepaway

oh god... why does Namco's Akuma look waaaaay so much better than all the SFV models using the the same engine. :(
It's more of an art style thing.

That being said, I hope we get Jin in Wave 2 as he played in SFxT to return the favor. He transitioned extremely well to the Street Fighter style & had synergy with essentially everyone.

I would love Jin in SFV. or Kazuya. that purple stuff.

Nina. So Tekken fans can also say, "what?! She's not in Tekken, but made it all the way to SFV!"

a lot of the tekken cast movesets in sfxt was so great. it would be a shame if all those mechanics died with that game.

The best part of this whole thing is the official "canon" of how Akuma is in the game was basically the result of Mago kicking Daigo's ass in Tekken 7 which lead to Harada being able to drug Ono so he could get the rights to use Akuma.

I hope they put the sketch on youtube... what they did to Ayano was hilarious

Ok I will trade the DLC characters we know, or Akuma himself, for Kazuya and/or Paul with their movesets from SFxT in SFV.

Sorry Guile, Juri and Urien.

Swapping to MvC rules for KOs (all must die) likely helps solve a lot of the Time Out issues they had, since you can now balance damage around it.

SFxT needs shorter combos and higher damage, and shorter round timer, like 40 seconds.

It needs to imitate the TTT style of rounds. Super short and brutal.

No pandora, and of course, time stopping during most of the super animation.

Tekken's backgrounds are very different with a lot more open space and probably don't use the same level of resources as a more dense background, so more can be devoted to the characters. Although the backgrounds in the Tekken trailer look quite good.

SFV is starting to look less and less attractive to me over time too. The backgrounds are kinda running it visually for me. 30 fps visuals in a fighting game background are not good.

MKX's x-ray are 30-fps, but are more tolerable, because they're fairly rare close-up cutaways and more stylized, but having so much of the background run in 30 fps with choppy animations during the whole match is not a good look.

A lot of the Tekken characters were really great in SFxT but it's just that the engine wasn't very fun imo. Would love to see something more like CvS2 but with SF/Tekken characters since I doubt SNK is up for CvS3........and great, now I'm hyped for a game that will never exist.

Oh god, please no Mishimas
Why would you do anyone else

They gotta use best mishima

Kazuya " i look like satan" mishima

Why does tekken 7 look way better than sf5, its an art style thing. Brian fury's and Xou's new outfit styles on everyone's redesigns in 5.

Sorry Guile, Juri and Urien.

Can we trade geif for king.

Can we just remove geif and put king in, i think that works out better for everyone.
