I liked Goku's development and role through the end of the Cell games. Everything after that has been pretty terrible/predictable/bad.

Goku has too much confidence in his kids really. He spends most of Z coaxing them into taking care of themselves although he overestimates them at times because the fact that they are children who didn't grow up like he did doesn't occur to him. He still spends all of his time encouraging his kids and telling them how proud he is of them.

Still, he was with Gohan and Chichi for four years until he died, trained with Gohan for three years for the androids, then another year in the hyperbolic time chamber, and then at the end of Z he stayed with his family for ten years. Then at the end, when everyone has grown up to take care of themselves and aren't interested in fighting, he goes to train uub so he can have someone else to spar with, but he did say he'll come back every once in a while.

Goku wants someone to take over the role of being Earth's protector so he can train and fight. Gohan and Goten failed to fill that role. Uub being Kid Buu's reincarnation is just what he wants, because he is just that powerful to begin with and can only get stronger.

Plus Goku probably wants to fight in the other universes if he hasn't done so before the end of Z, so getting Uub up to speed as fast as possible not only helps Goku, but also Earth as well.

No dude, Goku's a shit tier father and Piccolo is the dad Gohan deserves.

I hoped there would be a lesson for Goku or some character development made out of the fact that he hated working on earth, but has to do chores and hard labor everyday at beerus' planet.

Goku's not a bad father his kids just suck

What if Tien was a saiyan? Would he be the top dog?
He would probably be up there. He knew how to do the Kamehameha properly after seeing it once, and mastered the mafuba in... I think a day or two. His work ethic is top notch, and he's a genius who is naturally gifted. As a saiyan, he'd basically be Vegeta, but with a slightly better affinity for ki techniques and a slightly worse affinity for tactics. (They're both top in these regards: 9/10 vs 10/9)

One thing that bothers me about Sweatpants Gohan...

... True Dad could've just magically given him his True Family clothes again.

I always thought this was Gohan's best outfit

I just want Piccolo to get the respect he deserves. Watching the Demon King be Pan's babysitter is just...I feel like I got kicked in my sides. :/

Vegeta's gonna be SSJGSS soon, so at least he closed the gap when Goku went SS3 and whatnot but Piccolo deserves some freakin' respect damn it.

Also, someone remind me because I've forgotten...have we seen Yamcha?

are we really going to forever talk about Gohan every week before a episode

salty Gohan hater here

People just want Gohan to return to his former peak.

That character was one of the best things about Dragonball Z, from beginning to end.

DBS may finally do him justice.

Someday....

Minor character with big VA = They avoid giving him minor pointless cameos aside from big reunion specials. I guess that's the actual reason he wasn't in RoF and they didn't add him to the Super version of the arc either.

The hell is wrong with a man looking after his granddaughter for his son and daughter-in-law?

Did you just say Tine is a 9 in tactics? What show are you watching?

Please describe gohan at his peak because to me he's the same as he ever was personality wise.
I am not a big Gohan fan at all but when Mystic Gohan came in and had that stare down against Super Buu while having the bad ass grin... that was definitely his peak. He then declares that he's much stronger than Buu and he was going to kill Buu.

No one said you had to read it!
idk why but my eyes get glued to Gohan posts

likely due to the fact that the post bursts with so much hope for a terrible character

We're all just waiting for his triumphant return, even you.

he was never gone
I ain't waiting... need to save my hope for someone else.... I'm even more patheitic since I am cheering for a return of King Piccolo who got jobbed last week because of Gohan...
maybe that is why I am so salty

"Gohan laments that if he had only kept up his training like Goku and Vegeta, then Piccolo wouldn't have died."

Get on it, son.

Aw, they changed the hand holding scene. RIP.

Today's episode sure was bleh.

Episode spoilers:
Weird foreground-background zooms and Gohan starts powering up. He even says that if he had kept up with his training, Piccolo wouldn't have died. Goku and Vegeta use him powering up as a signal for Goku to IT to Earth. Gohan suddenly just peters out. I guess the power was too much for his body. Goku intercepts Freeza's blast. Goku quickly teleports Piccolo to Dende's place and tells Goten and Trunks to go tell Dende what happened. Goku plans to use the Namekian DBs later.

Vegeta blasts away Ginyu making him the sole killer of the entire Ginyu Force 5-for-5. Goku and Vegeta converse with Freeza, and Freeza transforms immediately into his final form. This wipes out all of his minions (except Sorbet) and leaves a LARGE crater/hole in the ground. Goku says he takes dibs because Vegeta already had his turn with Ginyu. Goku takes a fighting stance, roll credits.

Wish we could've got SSJ3 Vegeta in the BoG arc and SSJG Gohan here 😩

I wonder why they don't write in transformations more often. They know their audience wants it.

SSJ3 is a detrimental transformation that i'm glad they're moving away from and gohan raging into ssjg would've have been lame as hell.

Haven't been keeping up with new episodes of Super, but have they explained how Vegeta goes SSJG? Did they have to redo the ritual? I just assumed everyone involved in it was given the ability to unlock it.

The only explanation was his off screen training with Whis. Somehow, in 6 months, that allowed him to learn how to sense god ki and catch up with god ki absorbed Goku. Going by how Super showed the transition, he never became a SSJ God.

Oh shit,
Tagoma frog wasn't shown to be killed. He'll mysteriously show up in his body, due to someone using the SDBS, in the sequal to dragon ball super 20 years from now. Its all part of the plan.
