Street Fighter V Beta 3 Thread: For when Star Wars is sold out.

So what was Capcom's plan with these betas when the game is coming out in 2 months? the Netcode is subpar and going far to be even worse than 4. The combos are very basic and light normals are just shit and the only one who feels complete is R.Mika. I expected improvements but I'm seeing the same thing from the last beta but with new characters added.

You're playing with people all over the region, most probably on wireless.

Jesus christ how horrifying.

Will likely be diving into Gief once the beta is up and I'm home. May give Laura a shot too. I'll have time to watch a video or two to get up to speed on protecting russian skies but I'm looking forward to him.

I know he's not in yet but is it known if anything major with Bison been changed since the last beta? I really liked how they made it super easy to cancel knee press into his super so I hope they didn't revert that.
 
The dash backwards > forward felt pretty fast but yeah wheel kick looked too slow.

Ya that seems like it might have some use baiting wake ups? I'm not sure. With the amount of limbs people throw out in this game I just think it's pretty risky.

Her combos are pretty limited, so far I've only found one nice combo that requires a v-trigger activation. Everything else is pretty much 2 in 1s.

Wish her qcf+HP had a EX version too.

edit: Dhalsim/fang is going to be a nightmare for her.
 
Guys, I ran into the following problem: I came into possession of a code for the beta and redeemed it in the PS Store on the console. It recognized the code, but it isn't downloading anything.

The game also doesn't show up in the menus, only when I go into Settings>PSN Network/ Account Management>Account Information>Service/App/Games list (unsure what the term is in English) it shows up, but from there I cannot download the beta. Does anyone else have this problem too and knows a way to solve it?
Apparently this issue has been a thing since launch time, but I just bought my PS4 recently and have not encountered it before.
 
Weren't the skeletons of the dlc there? Why can we see this but not that

Not exactly... there was just a reference file that had poly counts and bone counts. That's long gone though, and they've switched to random names for the characters too. You can see that Zangief is now just "EC2".

We'll see what people find digging into sound files and stuff... I don't see anything super obvious. No models or illustrations of the DLC fighters (so far), nothing from story mode, no extra stages besides the ones we already have.

I found using the wheel when I had a fireball close in their face giving me the best results.

It's a natural reaction to block when the slow fireball is coming, so I try to cr.MK cancel into overhead. If timed right, they might not be able to punish because the fireball will hit and cause extra blockstun.
 
To anyone using an 8 button stick that isn't natively compatible with the beta, here is my configuration for joy2key. I use it for my TE2. Your stick needs to be in Left Stick mode if you have a toggle.

Lol, not on my planet. Maybe yours, but not mine.

People need to keep in mind that we're being matched up with people all over the world. When the game comes out, you'll be able to filter connections more.

Actually, many of the international matches for me have been pretty darn good. A lot better than SF4, at least.

yeah I played a guy in Korea this morning (I'm USA east coast) and it was pretty smooth. Seems if both sides are on good internet and good systems online works wonders

I need to start experimenting with resetting with a normal after the ex-fireball.

Ex fireball is so good. I don't know if it'll stay a staple of her game though.

qcf+lp doesn't have an ender, so ya it's basically the ole makoto hayate->karakusa setup.
 
Got a code today, no idea why though. I haven't pre-ordered it and I haven't been in any of the other Street Fighter betas. I used to be a proper beta tester for PlayStation so maybe it's because of that?

Looking forward to trying though. :)

Though I find her boring to play, Laura seems pretty fun to watch at least, those resets are some Makoto shit.
I find her fun. I wasn't looking to her at all. I dislike her design. But I found her gameplay to be fun enough. I miss some good pokes, but her v-skill is super fun. You can cancel most of her normals into V-Skill, which opens up a lot of posibilities for mixups.

Like I said somewhere else, maybe I'm easy to please? Out of all the chars that I've tried from SFV, I enjoy everyone except for Necalli. I'm much looking forward to the release of the game when I can try all chars, no time pressure whatsoever.
 
Protip: Don't divulge any tech until the game is released.

Combofiend invented yer setups. He's letting you play with them for now. The Combo giveth, and the fiend taketh away.

I guess I'm like you. I love this game at a very basic, fundamental level. I enjoy most of the characters, except those that I'm predisposed to dislike because of my playstyle.

Nah, she has an unique playstyle and tools, nothing wrong with enjoying her and she has potential, she's just not for me.

That explains my problem with joy2key in the past! I needed to be in left stick mode. Now I feel stupid.
