Better than losing all your matches. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

At this point whenever the matchmaking pops-up in training mode I just put the controller down. The psychology of people not knowing WTF to do against a "dummy" opponent is something to write research papers on.

Then I get back to training mode. Those of you that haven't had matches, I wish you'd take my matchmaking.

Back in my day we didn't have a training dummy. We learned by getting beat up. You can too!

Saw people were getting matches, tried the game again, get in instantly, and while in training for a few seconds I get a match. DC'd before the match vs screen shows up, and now I can't get back in.

Ninja Edit: Got back in, and post match fight I got a weird freeze at win quote + pose, then shows data was not sent, and the post match stats show to the side. Then I got a error while trying to load back into training. Not able to get back to the main menu now. Will take another break.

You're getting there Capcom, keep at it :\

Sim's fun against people who WANT to get in on him. His tools to push back feel nice and solid.

He's a pain at getting in himself, and I can't just Auto-lock to my early SFIV Sim main'n skills for things, with changed tele ranges and much-changed normals.

EVERY GROUND CROUCH KICK IS A SLIDE, lol. And I thought I USED to slide too often.

yeah dude can literally just walk forward and threaten space in this game.
It's like a red focus that has movement, takes no meter but doesn't crumple. People can't just zone him out anymore by hitting buttons since this can blow that up.

First Sim VS Necalli, that's a match that'll take some learn'n. I still want to press cr. MK for spacing, and instead I SLIDE RIGHT ON IN, doh. Old habits.

Do you have any tips to share? I have a bad time against Zangief.
I still need to get a better feel of the match up to offer actual tips but you basically need to play runaway with him. Staying mid range seems to be really fucking scary now, specially when he gets Vtrigger.

If you're a rushdown character you're fucked lol

Im getting constant matches. Which i dont like because i would like to get to know the game before i get pitted against opponents...

The beta just underlines how important single player mode is for these games. Being put against someone wayyy above your level is going to turn so many people away from the game. A good SP campaign would at least get people on decent level of play.

Any reason why my Qanba Q4 RAF isn't working on the PS4 beta? I thought it worked as long as you had the DS4 turned on.

Charlie has to fight pretty "honest" most of the fight, fighting him with Sim has been pretty classic SF. Except he has my Teleport shenanigans in a crazier way than I do now, kinda.

Need to utilize EX Fire and V-Trigger more. It's nice he can cancel into V-Trigger out of his ranged normals, at least.

New jumping HP is such a nice tool. Catch those that jump away, catch those that jump OVER you warp... just a solid feeling button. Might not be old Yoga snipah, but that's kinda OK. I leave my Instant Air Jump stuff to KoF's Leona...

Hmm, I haven't had anyone DP my stretched limbs yet. Bet THAT won't last long.

It says at the very beginning that you can't change it, what you chose, you have to stick with.

I chose my country flag a few days ago when I created my profile in the few hours the beta was open, this time my profile is created from the start but with a default flag.

Playing against bots only teaches you how to beat bots. What they need is a good tutorial that teaches the fundamental strategy of how to play Street Fighter. A VF4:Evo level tutorial that actually goes over facets of playing Street Fighter against human opponents at a level above spamming sweep and DP.

Grrrr, I haven't won a single match yet. Last match I was clearly schooling a guy in the first round, then in the second round he goes from fumbling around like an idiot to effortlessly pulling off huge combos, so I'm pretty sure he passed the controller to his better friend.

BlazBlue has ridiculously detailed tutorials as well, including FTG terminology.

Personally I like a good story mode, and Capcom needs to pay more attention to it. Alpha 2 had fantastic character-specific endings and bosses. Follow that example.

Hey, if you wanna win a match, just play me. I am hot garbage right now.

The AI in fighting games always boils down to the AI knowing exactly the counter to what you are doing and the AI deciding whether to let you hit them or not.

The tutorials should be interwoven into the campaign in ways that teach dealing with certain scenarios that one might encounter when playing against humans. I think Soul Blade did this pretty well with the RPG mode. Just seems weird that fighting games have gone so far back with trying to teach new people to the genre how the games should be played. An arcade mode with bad AI is not going to teach anything. Getting bodied online is only going to discourage.

I still don't know any of the terminology. Every time I'm in a fighting game thread, I get so lost.

Does this game need some ports open or something? Been in practice about an hour and a half without opponents.

EU here.

Nash is absolutely retarded, he seems to have no recovery frames whatsoever and lots of mixups, combos and cross ups. Just seems like he has no weakness.

Hope mika gets release tomorrow.

Okay wtf.

I haven't been able to hop on to this beta until this morning, so maybe this has already been addressed but why the fuck do i keep getting characters that i didnt select when getting a match in training mode?

Sitting in training mode as Necalli and 2 of the 3 matches I've had gave me Chun and the 3rd gave me Ryu.
