What's the deal with them locking backgrounds at 15-30fps. It looks so bad. I'm guessing it's to keep PS4 from dropping frames during matches. They should unlock this on PC.
 
I like Laura a lot. But she does seem limited with anti air and I've yet to get used to her V Skill movements. I like her EX Command throw though, covers a lot of range.

I can't find many combos online yet. Ones I use are f.HP,HP, QCF+HP and j.HK, MP, MK, V-trigger, HP, EX Fireball, QCF+HP.

Might consider PS4 stick, liking this game so much more than the drab SFIV.
 
What's Necalli's bnb?
Seems like most of his BnBs are of counter hits

By I use Cr.mk > light stomp and when they start respecting that I swap light stomp with M. Stomp for frame traps and if it hits as a counter Cr.Mk > M. stomp > Cr. Mp > light Disc Guidance ( charge move) or you opt that for a H. Stomp frame adv reset
 
everything that isn't the match takes too long lol
Between SFxT and the SF5 beta, I'm wondering if there's anyone at Capcom/Dimps that works on these games that have any UI/UX experience. I swear it takes longer to load/sit through menus than it does to actually play the match. I know there are other considerations with regards to the wait (load times, matchmaking, etc.) but it feels like the interface and menus get in the player's way way too much.
 
yeah some of the choices with Dhalsim... I dunno....

3 slides, none of which can combo

low jab doesn't combo into yoga flame but his low medium anti air does? He's weird for sure... but not in a good way.

Not only is he good, but I'd wager he may be one of the better characters in the game if they dont change him.
 
HP - qcf MK - c.MP (charge back) - LP slash attack.

Either this or:

st. MP, c. MP xx qcf LK
c. HP xx qcf HK juggle into either his DP or super (you have to delay it a bit else it'll whiff)

st. MP into his target combo (st. MK, st. HK, V-Skill) used to work too, but I think they removed that.

Edit: I also think you can do M slash after the c. MP when you're in V-trigger. I know it combos, but I'm not sure if it'll work in that bnb regarding pushback. I need to test it.

2nd edit: I forgot to mention that AA j. MPs puts them in a juggle state in case you didn't notice yet. You can follow that up with DP, super or go for a reset.
 
Well that's stupid.

Why can't they just make it like Sf4 and give you the damn character select screen after connecting to an opponent? Seems like a step backwards.

It's definitely a step forward.

No more counterpicking and switching to different characters to protect your points when you run into a name you recognize (like lots of people did in SF4). It encourages people to stick to one character.

Also, it saves a lot of time. No going to character select and stage select before every fight.

Also also, SF5 isn't the only game to do this. GGXrd and Virtua Fighter 5 did it, too.
 
You guys weren't kidding about this normals into 720 thing. I can do mp and jumping normals into CA with some regularity. Still can't combo of a lp or do it standing, but I'll call this progress.
 
LOL, I don't know how Dhalsim is supposed to handle Necalli. Necalli's V-Skill shuts down so many of his options.

Gief is so dumb. Frame trapping people with lp spd is so easy and the range is crazy. Combo off of his overhead is also just too good.

I have a feeling that gief will probably be my secondary character unless they change him dramatically.
 
Also I actually like Sim a lot in this game. He's an anti-rushdown character in a game with a mountain of rushdown characters. I've ran into a bunch of players that have no idea what to do once I've shut down their momentum and I take advantage of their confusion.
