Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.

One of the reasons I have a hard time seeing her being his actual daughter. If Rey is indeed Luke's daughter, I hope she slices the hell out of him in Episode VIII.
Because the only sane reason for him to abandon her as a slave for so many years is either him being insane or her being drawn to the dark side.
I think it will be fairly dark. Even if no one dies they'll have to delve into the backstory of Kylo Ren and what happened at Luke's academy, and why Luke went away. I think it's hard to tackle those things in a lighthearted way. Everything is set up for Ep.8 to be the Empire Strikes Back of this trilogy. It'll be interesting to see what Rian Johnson does, because there seems to be a logical direction to take things in, but I wouldn't be surprised if he throws us some curveballs. Can we talk about the general feel they might go for in Episode 8?
will they go even darker? is someone else going to die?
or will it be a bit more light hearted this time around?
I think a big portion of the movie will focus on the training of Rey and Kylo so I don't know.
Maybe someone loses a limb
You're allowed to disagree, that's how opinions work. I happen to think yours is "poor" as well, so I guess we're even, though I don't know what he 'nailed'. I think he shined most when the two gruops of dudes showed up to capture him -- He was Han Solo there. Maybe right before and right after. And I liked his scenes with Finn, saying women always figure it out and calling him "Big Deal". But just about everywhere else, he seemed like he couldn't care less. I thought he was awful and dragged down just about every scene he was in. Where was the pain in losing his son to the dark side? Ben went off the deep end and killed a shit ton of people and he didn't see him for 15 years... then he had next to no emotion while confronting him. Even his death was without weight. I can look past my love for Han Solo as a character and the nostalgia factor of seeing him and honestly say that I just didn't feel his performance at all. Sorry..

Even with the injuries, I'd say he held his own against a more skilled and powerful opponent and only really took heat when he finally landed a blow. I feel like there's more to Finn than we know.
Rey's parentage is not a cliffhanger. Why would they send her to Luke and not Poe, or send whoever would have gone if Poe had succeeded in his initial mission?

What else has the Jurassic World director done?
Solo was never a deeply emotional guy to begin with... He's got his self interest at heart, with a smidge of "I might give the slightest of fucks" about anyone else. Solo is about self preservation and opportunity. The only reason he came back to help the rebels originally was a twitch in his pants and a chance for more money should they actually succeed.

He grew quite a bit by the end of Episode VI and seemed like he actually cared for the people around him. I'm not saying I disagree with the idea that he fled when trying to deal with what Ben did. But to ignore that his character grew over the course of the original three movies is just silly to me. Like, you really want me to buy that he wouldn't care about his son, or that seeing him after 15 years wouldn't have some sort of visible impact on the guy?
By "some of Breaking Bad", he means Ozymandias (and Fifty-One and Fly)You're thinking Episode IX
Next guy doing it (Rian Johnson) has done
Looper
Brick
The Brothers Bloom
Some of Breaking Bad
So yeah, I do expect it to get darker.
Also, Rey has to be Luke's daughter. First of all, the movies are about the Skywalkers primarily. Then you have the trailer with Luke's voiceover talking about the Force in his family.
Two questions:
1. If Rey is Luke's kid, why is Luke such an asshole? First he dumps her off on a dangerous, piece of shit desert planet, leaving her a de facto orphan, then he makes her hike up a mountain just to watch him take a piss.
2. Why would the movie end the way it did? Why doesn't Luke reach out to her? Why doesn't he say something? They're leaving this thing ambiguous only so they can answer it within the first five minutes of the next film?
I don't think he recognized her. Or her him, for that matter. Being a Kenobi kiddo makes more sense thematically, but I think she's really a nobody. We'll never find out who her parents are, and it doesn't really matter. Kylo is the new Skywalker. Rey is the harbinger of a tainted bloodline.
Force semen
"Objectively" lolI enjoyed Star Wars more while objectively knowing Mad Max is a better film. Nothing wrong with it.
If he didn't care he wouldn't have confronted him, he would have simply left...
Fixed. Came out of Mad Max seeing one of the best Action movies ever made.Your friend is wrong.
Finn was also a trained soldier and most likely somewhat experienced in hand-to-hand combat. So it makes sense that he could at least last 30 seconds against a semi-trained, injured sith.

I avoided all spoilers for Adam Driver? Seriously? Was Andy Samberg busy that day?

It's probably been talked about, but is the fact that the Skywalker-map-old-dude's outpost and Rey are on the same planet a clue, or just another Force coincidence?

Him not searching for his daughter or going after the Dark side that supposedly killed his daughter it's also a good motive to have him sliced by Rey in Episode VIII.

Fucking awesome that they got Tippett back.Making of the Holochess sequence video. This is awesome. I assumed it was just CGI.
I preferred TFA to Mad Max too. Both were great.
The way I see it.
Episode 7: the Star Wars we wanted.
Episode 8: needs to be the Star Wars we deserve
Episode 9: wrap it all up

By the way, I totally think Episode VIII is gonna get bumped to Dec. 2017.
I feel like May would be too close for comfort
It begins principal photography in less than 3 weeks. Scripted is locked. Pre-production complete. Sets built. That whole jazz.By the way, I totally think Episode VIII is gonna get bumped to Dec. 2017.

Revenge of the Sith is NOT the best Star Wars film. Out of all the films, it treats its female a characters the worst.
That female twi'lek (or whatever the species name is) gets gun down...and she's wearing an outfit that exposes her midriff.
Padme spends the entire film sitting around while pregnant.
