losing my shit over this lol

this steam sale isn't the same :(

oh I'm totally with you, I hated vanilla Civ V, I still think it's very flawed Civ game, for reasons I won't go into here, but at least expansions made it more fun to play and it's likable now.

Hmm. Alright. Glad I'm not alone on this. (Well, I knew I wasn't; my roommates hated it. But they'll rip anything apart, haha.)

Likable is good. I'll pick it up!

As someone who loved the Telltale Walking Dead games, how much would I enjoy The Wolf Among Us and/or Tales from the Borderlands? Is one better than the other or are both good?

I haven't played Tales from the Borderlands, but I *loved* The Wolf Among Us despite not knowing a thing about it before I played it. All I knew was that it was from the same people who brought me the amazing TWD season 1. I think you would enjoy it too.

In some ways I actually liked TWAU more than TWD. The characters felt even more charming and memorable to me in TWAU.

Why do i get the feeling Ubisoft is gonna cheat again and have dailies for stuff like FC 4 etc etc? Also the deals are pretty underwhelming tbh.

Yeah I think they will, especially considering that only a few assassin creed games are on offer currently
Either that or halfway through the sale Valve will sudden go "SURPRISE DAILIES!"
But I doubt that will happen.

PSA for anyone considering The original Force Unleashed: The sound is totally screwed up if you are using a 5.1 setup. Music only comes out of the left speaker, and no audio comes out of the back channels. I have been looking for a fix for years but do not believe there is one. I have tried both a digital and pc speaker 5.1 setup.

Does it work if I set my PC to stereo or use headphones?

I was thinking of picking up fallout new vegas since I've never played it before (I'm sorry, I'm planning on amending that I swear). One question though, is the ultimate edition (the dlc attached to the main game) worth it?

Sabaton in-game soundtrack for just £2? If I had the game it'd be a definite purchase!

Ooh, thanks for the reminder, need to catch up on some DLCs, and Common Sense is 66% off. Probably going to get El Dorado as well. Now, time to check Crusader Kings.

So looks like some EU4/CK2 DLCs, Endless Legend Shadows Expansion, Starpoint Gemini 2 Titans, One Way Heroics Plus, Long Dark, and Read Only Memories is going to be my haul for the sale.

I am debating on D4, Satellite Reign, Odallus Dark Call, Pathological HD, Chroma Squad, Neon Struct, Shantae Pirate Curse, Else Heart.Break, and Dreamfall Chapters.

Definitely.

FFVII on PC, is it like the PS4 port where you can speed up the game and halt random encounters when you want?

Nope, the PC version doesn't have those integrated. AFAIK, the only "official" cheats (which btw, need you to login on S-E website, weird I know) allow you to increase your character stats. But you probably can do it with an external trainer or something like it.

Edit. Here's more info about it:

No. You can not do those things in the PC version.

You can speed up the game by using cheat engine and then binding the hotkey to a button on your controller, but those features are exclusive to the PS4 version of the game.

The music comes out of both speakers, but in my experience the sounds are still a mess. I really wish someone would find a fix for this issue since the pc version of the force unleashed at 60 fps is great.

Whole lot of stuff in that $10-12 range that I'm looking at, gotta decide what to pare down to:

Hand of Fate
Satellite Reign
Darkest Dungeon
Talos Principle
Alien Isolation
Cities Skylines

And there's always Dying Light, but weighed against two of those games, I dunno. What's the deal with the enhanced edition for that, again? Free upgrade? Comes out in a few months?

Alien Isolation 100% deserves your attention. Great, great game.

It was, on the very first build (1.0).
The mod has been updated since then, now at 1.4. It's flawless.

You guys are making is seriously hard to resist. I guess I'll keep telling myself that there's no way my graphics card would be able to keep up anyway.

I really liked how the twist at the ending was that the protag never actually was a soldier. He basically just learned all the skills through a feverdream of beeing one
I was tempted to me tion that, but I like how Alex fantasizes himself as some American Hero and how it effects him in the game.

Lords of the Fallen looks pretty tempting at $10, but the reviews are rather mixed. Is it a bad game compared to Dark Souls, or just a mediocre game in general?

Man, no Ubisoft games on sale for this sale either? They keep playing hardball in trying to get me to pay for Assassin's Creed: Rogue Deluxe for Uplay, hopefully Amazon can be my savior and offer the Steam key for $15 again.

Yes - the DLC is really good, and if you plan on modding it, a lot of mods may end up requiring it.

Even though there are no dailies, it feels weird to be buying things, and I keep thinking in the back of my head to check the store for new discounts :(

Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel the dailies... and the flash sales... even my meta games.

The deals I've lost... the excitement I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there.

You feel it, too, don't you?

Has anyone played KOTOR 1/2 on Windows 10 recently? I really want to replay the games and have them on Steam, but so many of the recent reviews say it's hard to get them running properly. Maybe they're better GOG purchases?

Skylines is probably great. I hated the TT GoT game. All the choices lead to nothing (I know that all the TT games do this, but in the GoT game it's too obvious)

You should definitely play Tales from the Borderlands. That game does everything right - even making choices matter.
