buy rocket league

Bravo.

I would've saved it.

I have played them, you have played them. Many, many people in this thread have not. BG2 is possibly the best isometric RPG ever made. Hence, buy them! PoE pales in comparison. Hopefully PoE 2 will be as big a jump as BG2 was from BG1.

I'm a big fan of the Enhanced Editions, but the sale prices are pretty iffy. I got BG2EE for like 7.50 during the summer sale. They're absolutely worth the asking price for the amount of content + replayability of the series but unless you're hankering to play them now it might be best to wait for a different sale.

I hear that BG2 Complete is the version you want, and that Enhanced has a lot of issues.

The EE's were messed up at launch but are perfectly fine now. Pretty much all the necessary/great mods for the original versions are now ported over as well.

Also, here's a quick list of some horror games that are stupidly cheap/under $2 that may be worth checking out I'd point some people too:

Ghost Master ($0.49): http://store.steampowered.com/app/6200/
Depths of Fear Knossos ($0.59): http://store.steampowered.com/app/252570/
Dreaming Sarah ($0.59): http://store.steampowered.com/app/296870/
Reveal the Deep ($0.64): http://store.steampowered.com/app/411560/
White Noise Online ($0.89): http://store.steampowered.com/app/293860/
Curse The Eye of Isis ($0.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/302210/
Clandestinity of Elsie ($0.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/379320/
Decay The Mare ($0.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/323720/
A Wolf In Autumn ($0.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/395270/
Into The Gloom ($1.19): http://store.steampowered.com/app/342350/
Uncanny Valley ($1.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/359580/
Betrayer ($1.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/243120/
Picking up Dreaming Sarah, Reveal the Deep, and Betrayer, thanks.

Wait, I thought people were saying earlier that Dark Souls 2 SotFS was like $13? But it says $18.99. They were mistaken I guess?

See, I couldn't get into that. I bought it this summer sale. Played maybe 40 minutes. Refunded. I dunno. I like my strategy titles, but I couldn't do it.
Maybe I'm just meant to stick to the Sid Meier side of things.

That's terrible. I mean, yes, Civ and AoW are very different games, with completely different focuses, but still. Terrible.

Maybe they were talking about the upgrade? It's $14 for me, while the base game is $20.

I'm kinda upset, because now I'm considering the upgrade out of nowhere. Sub-$20 was always the price to beat.

Would anyone recommend SOMA at this point? I know its a great game, but only 25% off? Meh... maybe I am just being cheap, but Amnesia's full price was like 20 bucks, and the price will only get lower...

I'm stuck in a bind, I'm in the mood for a zombie survival game and was thinking about Project Zomboid but then invisible inc caught my eye and now I'm torn.

It's a really good game, but more so for the story and the atmosphere/environment than the actual horror elements. So buy it if you want a really interesting story, not Amnesia-like horror.

So is this sale just one day?

Nah, ends the morning of January 4th. The big difference is no dailies, so you can fill your boots now and you won't miss anything (except for some stragglers such as Ubisoft, who I presume is waiting until after Christmas to put their stuff on sale). Likewise, anyone waiting for their December pay packets won't miss anything.

You should try Europa Universalis IV. ;)

Now I have a new comp, maybe I check out something pretty cool even through I need to deal with bit of a backlog.XD

Dying Light seems interesting, but might as well try the demo first. I would check out Batman Arkham Knight, but maybe I wait for the GotY edition or such heh.

Picking up a few of these. Dreaming Sarah, Reveal the Deep, and A Wolf In Autumn. Rest aren't too my type, at least not at first glance, but I'm looking forward to your more comprehensive list later.

I've been meaning to. But now I've got Beyond Earth, so it'll have to wait, I think.

...Unless it gets a super great deal, DLC and all.

Lol yea maybe three years ago on release?! They've went on fixing their own bugs and even more of the original and still adding new content. I stand by them as being the only way to play BG these days it had a bumpy start and that seems to have left people with alot of misinformation. Similar to the 'is Battlefield 4 still a broken mess' crowd.

NBA 2k15 has no discount while NBA 2k16 has one. I have the former, not the latter, is it safe to buy the game now? I bought NBA2k15 at launch and it only worked a month after the release because it was broken mess (at least for me). I have a trauma guys, please guide me. The Steam reviews are mixed too.

BTW my discovery queue are AAA realness of MGS V, Fallout IV, Witcher III, Just Cause III, and AC. Probably because I bought R6: Siege and Steam like he be rich!

That's new to me, will buy.

More inexpensive horror: The Charnel House Trilogy

I didn't know that Dark Echo released on Steam.

Get on it, dude. You'll like it.

The tap platform of iOS was well done but not necessary. The ability to throw in some headphones wherever you were and play it out was cool. I highly, highly recommend playing it with headphones.

And speaking of highness, am I the only one who might buy Port Royale 3 just for the chance at that good :weed: money emoticon cash?

As someone who owns all gameplay DLC for eu4 I would say most of them is needed and as someone who owns all the DLC I can also safely say it's not cheap lol

If you want all gameplay DLC and game it would be like 57€

I got 11.79 left and I'm already getting shovel knight what else do you guys recommend

This is hard without some info. What do you have? What do you want? Give us a shortlist of what you dig or might dig.

You're already on Shovel Knight so your taste demonstrably does not suck.

My daughter bought her first game on Steam using her own debit card (she's almost 19 now) but in the past I've always bought stuff for her and gifted to her. Her game of choice? Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2.

Proud dad moment.

Purchased my first joystick since I was 11 years old. The Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick. It'll be arriving sometime between December 29th and January 5th, and I really look forward to trying out X-Wing Alliance and TIE Fighter since I only ever played XvT.

I hope it works OK on Windows 10.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for answering all my questions here earlier!

I'm considering FF 7&8. Are there many benefits to playing them on PC as opposed to PS1 emulation? And I know the music was fixed for 7, did 8 have any problems like that?

You need to use unofficial mods to fix FF8's music, unfortunately. I don't think there are any benefits besides built in cheats and cloud saves.

What are some niche 2015 GOTY candidates that I can pick up?

People say omg SNAKEBIRD..... which is great and all, but I have two very specific picks.

Mini Metro

Mini Metro is an amazing RTS / Sim / Puzzle game where you make your own subway system. It is rated as Overwhelmingly Positive with good reason. The way of setting up these routes and editing them for efficiency, managing resources etc, is just impeccably done both in intuitive use, animation and minimalistic looks akin to the London Underground. There are also maps to based on other cities and their looks. It is very elegantly put together. Most importantly the game is fun as hell and very addictive. There are daily challenges, randomised maps too, and big map sizes for ever more challenging scenarios of dealing with large quantities of people and places.

Sunless Sea

Sure the game is heavily based around it's writing, and a whole lot of it, but this is the game that has got me more interested in these text heavy ventures because the writing is so fucking good. Utterly engrossing and fitting of the atmosphere. You are basically in a lovecraftian dystopia of an underground world, captain of your own boat / ship and crew as you live for a goal of your own choosing. There are kinds of disturbing lands, characters, quests, deities, monsters and cannibalism. There are tons of choices, directions and stories that get continually added to the game, lots of permutations to play. Your sailing is real time and the world is partially procedural. There is a lot of death but in a rougelite fashion depending on what you did and choose, your legacy can go on. It's an amazing game.

This page does a better job of selling the game

Damn good stuff.

Meanwhile, my niece only wants to get that 'Elsa and Anna' game. But she is only 3, so that's understandable.

To be fair they have been releasing over like 4 years now. I would skip Cossacs for sure since it's not discounted (my policy is only get new DLC at least at 50% off). That makes things a lot better.

EU4 is very very good and a much better game then Civ BE.

Any consensus on Total War: Attila? Worth $12 (GMG) if I already played a fair amount of Rome 2?
Excellent, if very, very, VERY, PAINFULLY difficult. The game is described as being "Survival Stragedy", and you can tell why. Very rewarding game though. Recommend playing as the Western, or Eastern Roman Empire.

Has amazing atmosphere as well, for a Total War Game
