I kind of want Endless Legend, but i've only ever liked 4X in theory and find them overwhelming. I almost purchased it but then I saw the DLC and do not know if I want to drop $20 on it.

I was debating between the $10 and $20 package before I paused long enough to realize that the extra $10 is like 1.2 beers on a random night out.

I opted for the complete package.

Got Shadowrun Dragonfall, I'll think about whether I will buy other stuff after.

I'm tempted to get FFXIII but I wish it was cheaper than $9 CAD. :/

i am kinda hoping newegg will have FF codes on sale again. They had cheap FF codes for sale during the last steam sale.

The discounts for the top selling games on Steam is a joke.

Anyone know where to get Saint Seiya for cheap? Isn't discounted on Steam atm =_=

National focus sure is great. So great it was added to the Common Sense DLC! So you just have to buy that now.

Yeah but those are cheap. Skip Cossacs, maybe skip Conquest and El Dorado (although this has nation designer) and it's not bad at all for a game that can give you hundreds upon hundreds of hours. They don't call it Grand Strategy for nothing.

I also heartily recommend Crusader Kings 2. Its a bit of a different twist on the genre with a lot more "close" play as you guide a noble family through the ages with all kinds of crazy RPG like statistics and events. There is even Game of Thrones mod which is pretty great for it. Unfortunately since its been out a while situation with DLC is similar, but you don't have to get everything at once either.

Last I played Mini Metro was when it was still a free alpha and I couldn't get into it. Seemed too simple for me, I didn't see the strategy. It's obviously evolved and improved since then. Can you talk a bit more about the strategy involved in the gameplay?

I'm not sure what the alpha state has been like. I've actually been playing it at a friends on and off for a month or so now, probably for less than 10hrs in total, but I thought it was tricky enough. Some youtube videos probably do a better explanation than what I could - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6Y7C8SSrto

Sunless Sea is fantastic. The way it brings the world to damp dank inky-black life with its exquisite prose is just incredible. Some of the best writing you'll find in any game. The appropriately-arduous, purposely grueling journeys into dark unknown waters are always rewarding and always tense

Yeah I love it. Whether it's the crazy places and characters you meet, or the often brutal journeys at zee, it's really amazing. I really want to find more games like it with such incredible writing that really draws you in. If you have any recommendations I am all ears!

Picked up Eschatos Wonder Pack (includes soundtrack + Judgement Silversword Resurrection) and Downwell so far.

Really happy with both.

I plan on grabbing Shantae and the Pirates Curse and Dariusburst in a few days.

Has Valve set a floor price in this sale? The only games below $0.49 (or the equivalent in your region) are the 3 from the weekly. Noticed the same thing during the sale last month.

It pisses me off that I can't practically gift anything (region locks suck) and the sale prices are crap anyway. Kinda don't want to bother anymore.

Anyone else feel like the discovery queue is completely useless? It recommends only garbage I don't care about. The best thing is "this is in your queue because it's on sale". oh really

Have you played 80 Days? Over 630,000 words of wonderful prose and a fascinating world to discover

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of 80 Days is the incredible world that inkle has crafted. While their Sorcery games may have been confined to countrysides, villages, and cities, 80 Days places entire nations at your fingertips. It’s a world of conflict and turmoil, of walking cities and submersible railways, of revolutions and rival nations. Your goal may be to circle the globe, but each city offers new distinct wonders, new plot threads to unravel, new characters to meet, and there are dozens of cities spanning the world, giving the game a scale that few others can match
And if you have an iOS or Android device, inkle's Sorcery series is just as fantastic

Pretty much. I mean I understand what Valve wants to do (Thanks to Cheesy's tweets) but their approach on how the discovery queue selects needs some ironing out.

Yes! The only thing worse is the "recommended" list on the main page, where half of everything is owned or wishlisted already. (Bonus points for curations of currently-wishlisted items...)

How many are in each queue, 12? Because then I'm 0-36 today. Though to be fair, I went through the entire library when the discovery queue first launched which is skewing things a bit.

Didn't realize games are cheap on Indian store in INR. Got elite dangerous for 100 bucks which is like less than 2 usd. Thanks Gaben

My indie-heavy haul so far:
Cryptark
Axiom Verge
TowerClimb
Rack n Ruin
Enchanted Cave 2
bitDungeon 2
Phoenix Force

On the fence:
Dungeon Warfare
OreLight
Assault Android Cactus
Mushihimesama (I love DDP, but never played this one)
Mytik Belle
Elliot Quest
Laserlife

I always find it amusing when I see posts like this and I somehow end up getting more games than I have in the Sales for many years. Seems like back in 2007 to about 2010 I spent quite a lot on tons of great stuff, and then had a lull between 2011 to mid 2014. Now I'm actually finding games I want with a really nice discount; not quite rock bottom prices of 2007 when the £ was worth so much more than the $ and Steam was still not regional, but still great deals.

Your aggravation about region locks and gifting issues on point though. I'm lucky to be in a place that hasn't got as many of the problems, but it is infuriating to me that they exist at all.

Have you used the discovery queue before this? I imagine it's doing that because it's trying to build a profile using a wide array of games initially. The problem is that I don't know when or if it actually gets to be worthwhile and yea, it's annoying having to sift through titles you'd think they would know you're not interested in based on your library.

It really is annoying that it populates that list with games you have already.

Omg... I completely blanked on Divinity. Now I'm terrible.

Yes, let's not skip Divinity Original Sin which has "literally" (well, maybe not literally but I can't think of anything better) best turn based RPG combat since well, forever. Although one could argue that some of say BG2's magical mechanics with triggers and time stop spell haven't been properly replicated anywhere (yes, it's not turn based).

The most recent ones, I mean. Seems like latest update is disliked.

I haven't played since the latest update but usually what ends up happening is people are upset that their dominate strategy doesn't work anymore. I could be wrong though, I haven't ready any reviews. I will say that the difficulty does spike really damn high and you will die if you are unprepared. It is something I do love about the game because it's a theme it nails perfectly. You're supposed to feel helpless and get stressed out yourself.

For anyone else interested, I say try it out, especially with refunds available now, but I can understand that it's not for everyone.

Only a handful of times for the same reason basically. I feel like it doesn't try to build a taste profile at all. I can say no to survival games 10 times and it still shows me ARK "because it's popular". My library is all over the place because of bundles, but it shouldn't be impossible to get a useful profile out of me.

Whoa, I guess I missed a lot of this thread.

I'm a little surprised Undertale went on sale now when it didn't have a discount during the Autumn Sale. Maybe I shouldn't be though

Think I'm gonna give in and just buy Kentucky Route Zero. Been trying to wait for it to go below 50%, but it doesn't seem like it will go below that anytime soon.

Mini Metro

I really want to give this game a chance but without controller support, I just won't give it a look. My PC is hooked up to my TV and I don't play with a mouse unless I absolutely have to.

Yeah, there was a huge update where they added a ton of cities to North America, Canada, and South America, and even more exotic stories like a lunar trip

North America and Canada, you say?

I'm at the point where I'm skipping practically all the great deals (Quake Live $2, Outland $1) because I'm not gonna have time to play them and will probably fester forever in my backlog :(

I spend trading card bucks, mostly.

Makes the hurt a little less.

Divinity: OS EE or Pillars of Eternity for someone relatively new to CRGS?

I tried out Shadowrun form last years steam sale, and had some fun with it for a while, but for whatever reason I just lost interest/burnt out.

I'm really interested in these games, but afraid of the same thing happening again.

Discovery queue is confusing. I might like a game but not want to follow or wishlist it. I skip it.

Similarly, I might have a game on my PS4, so I wouldn't want to see it again on steam. I select not interested so it doesn't come in my queue... which removes that game, but might confuse the logic into thinking I don't like that type of game when in reality.

I'm doing it wrong. I just don't know how to do it right.

0 games bought this sale. Bring on summer.
