I'm going to quote myself with a correction. This game is actually 'Content Complete' as of today. Apparently I was mistaken, the latest build wasn't in 1-3 months, it was right now.

Oh wow. That's awesome. I've owned this game for ages. Never fired it up because I wanted to experience it in all it's glory for the first time. Maybe this will be my new co-op game.

I will repeat what I said a few days ago, although Grim Dawn isnt a bad game, if you are looking for another diablo 3 just play Path of Exile. It is free and the better game, or just play both. Just repping path of exile as if people haven't played it and liked Diablo 2....it is a must play.

I gave PoE a chance a while back, but I couldn't get into it for some reason. That was maybe...a year and a half ago though, so I might give it another chance.

Hey, remember when I said that I had a (sadistic) surprise yesterday? Well, here it is.

Press the quote button to the left of this PM, select the quoted text, copy, and paste in the thread. You can remove these lines from the version you paste.

Instructions for participants:
I am giving away a Steam key. To enter this giveaway, send a PM to ModBot with any subject line. In the body, copy and paste the entire line from the message below containing the game you want to enter for. Confused? Watch this GIF tutorial or ask for help.

ModBot Basics:
- Beta: This giveaway is a trivia giveaway. In your PM, include BOTH the ModBot code for the game you want AND the answer to the trivia question on the same line separated by a space. Capitalization and punctuation are not important. Here is a visual example of how to format your ModBot PM
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (Dongs Macabre, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two.

Looking for a good co-op game to play online with a good friend of mine. Trying to put together a shortlist here:

- 7 days to die
- dying light

Does dying light offer full story mode co-op? All signs point to yes but having a verbal confirmation of that would be nice.

Any other suggestions? We've enjoyed lots of co-op games in the past - dead island, warhammers, resident evils, van helsings, Titans quest and other diablo clones, iron brigade, castle crashers, dungeon defenders, etc.

Pretty much any genre is free game. Story mode co-op preferred.
The Lara Croft spin-offs are great co-op games. Monaco (though probably better suited with more than 2 players) and Battleblock Theatre are also worthwhile for their quirky nature, and if you don't mind paying for something that isn't discounted, Helldivers for taking Alien Swarm to its logical extreme.

Dark Souls II SOTFS: I thought for sure this was going to be it, I tried Dark Souls the original but didn't really get into it and then I heard there were issues with Microsoft GFWL so I didn't go back. Thought this would a good way to jump back in and see if I could get captured by it especially with DS3 on the horizon. Then I watch a YouTube review by some guy named Sephiroth stating that this version made it even more punishing on newcomers and the new positioning was bad and pacing worse than the vanilla version (which I never played) but it's making me reconsider.
The original Dark Souls has received a Steamworks patch by now, so don't bother with the sequel. Not that it's a particularly good one anyways.

I grabbed Undertale the other day, is it playable with a touchpad or do you need a proper mouse or controller? I know there's some dodging stuff in it.

Also, I've been curious about Freedom Force for a while, but it seems to have trouble with modern systems. Has anyone had luck playing it on Windows 10?

But what kind of argument is that? "They take a long time so they have to take a long time." Put in less patterns then? Besides, I played two bosses and they repeat themselves a lot. For example, Vespula (the second boss) alternates between shooting patterns and bringing in "the swarm", which is just a ton of enemies specifically designed to make the fight take longer.

Also, really don't know where you got the idea that sponginess is standard in arcade shooting... It's quite widely considered to be poor design.
Those "repeating" attacks have different patterns to them. "Damage sponges" is also not what I'd call AAC's bosses with how quickly you can take down their phases if you actually know what to do.

I've heard SOTFS is harder because of enemy placement. I haven't played it yet but did buy it recently so I do intend to check it out. There are so many problems with DS2 that I could probably write a thesis on it. It really misses the point of a Souls game. But even then, I'd still recommend it to anyone who likes video games because in a world where we are now spoon fed almost everything in modern gaming, Souls games still treat you like a mentally competent human being who doesn't need their hand held the entire game.

But I'd recommend playing Dark Souls. It is one of the greatest games of all time.

I'm interested in this game, how does it differ/improve from what Diablo III and Path of Exile offer?

I haven't played Diablo 3, and it's been well over a year since I played PoE last. It's got a different feel though. It's ... 'slower' you could say. I didn't care for the more permanent nature of PoE and hated how it felt like I was playing a slot machine as I was trying to craft gear. There's much less reliance on luck based crafting in Grim Dawn. But honestly they're just too different for me to accurately recommend one in context of the other.

Gaf, i need your help:

How essential is Banner Saga?
I am waiting for the Vita Version since before it was released for PC first and still am, but 5€ seems like a no brainer.
What is the general opinion?

Banner Saga is like a very pretty ghoul.
At first glance you're like wow, but as you go deeper you realize it's an empty husk with rotting insides.

(nice art and decent story but choices are done in a stupid way and most don't matter at all and some mechanics of the game actually hurt the gameplay)

Yes, I've heard about that. Thats also why I'm indifferent...

So I never gave much thought to it before but after the currency change here in the UAE from US dollars to AED, apparently I can't gift people on my friends list outside of UAE and Saudi Arabia because of the fuckin' region lock.

Good job Valve. *rolls eyes*

and then I heard there were issues with Microsoft GFWL so I didn't go back.

They fixed that. Reinstall Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition, sign into GfWL if you want to keep your saves... (or did they remove that option after the migration early Feb?) and play completely free of GfWL.

Install DSFix/GeDoSaTo (if GeDoSaTo merged it) as well.
