I'm having a pretty unlucky sale... Keep buying games that look awesome to me and then end up annoying. Latest one, Assault Android Cactus. Why are the boss fights 8 hour long bullet sponge fests? SO BORING
I can't say I agree. The bosses in AAC have a lot of patterns you need to learn, so they need to take some time by definition. But that's a standard gameplay element of the genre.

Carpe Fulgur and Playsm actually released two CAVYHOUSE games on steam this year, I've played both, so here are my thoughts

I must say in advance that I really really like CAVYHOUSE style, it's a big part why I like those games so much, so it can be different for you, now when that's done, onto games

if you want very hard, very strange game, which is very slow, where you think a lot and plan a lot and try things a lot and advance slowly, this game is for you.

Now if you want just chill and and grow some organs, while playing very strange and relaxing game, this is a game for you

I also strongly second notion that buying anything PLAYISM published is good idea, it haven't failed me even once, here are those good games:

The bosses in AAC are frigging fantastic, especially the last 3. Easily the highlight of the game. I'd have loved to see more bosses in the game.

Thinking about grabbing the X-Wing series bundle. But I have heard conflicting things about the games on Steam vs GOG.com and what control options are best. I have never played any of these games before.

I do not own a flight stick but am willing to buy a cheap one if that's the best way to play as I have heard so many good things about these games. Am I safe with the Steam versions or should I pay more for the GOG versions?

Anyone able to play TESO with a controller? Going to buy either way just hoping I dont have to download external hardware for controller support.

Y... You can't trade again with someone if you already have a trade on hold with them because neither of you want to bend over backwards for their stupid new phone/mobile thing?

Fuck you very much, Valve.

Hm, South Park got a "daily", didn't it?
So there's hope yet.

What I miss the most from the old sales are those franchise bundles they used to make.
Sales these days are just the same old products we saw last year, and even then some of the older titles don't even match historic discounts, like the fallout games.

They released an update a few months ago that adds controller support to the PC version which can be enabled in the options. Enabling controller support changes the entire game's UI to match that of the console release. Some people find it more limiting, but I think it's great.

Its in beta but I think they just recently added it. I played with a controller fine but you have to use keyboard and mouse to log in and stuff right now. Its not fully supported yet.

you want a war?

South Park: Stick of Truth at £5.99 is super temping, convince me!

I got to the
institute
in Fallout 4 and then played few missions forward until deciding that I might as well drop the difficulty level to easy. The constant fighting just too much, especially when I enjoy playing Turok 1 hundred times more than shooting in Fallout 4. It's not hard, it's just even frustrating, just slow and boring. Not sure if I am missing something but many of my go-to weapons are either peashooters or just low on ammo. But it's not that the game was hard by any means, Stimpaks are plentiful and enemies don't do that much damage, just take a lot of it. Quite often I do enjoy the game a ton, but while doing the dungeon #100 or going through the absolute garbage dialog options I am wondering how this is one of the most acclaimed games of the year.

Actual dialog from the

SUPER HEAVY SPOILERS

- It's me, your son
- No it's impossible
- Yes it's possible. Or do you think that 60 years is impossible?
- No.
- Okay. Will you join us?
- Yes.
- Great. Go meet 4 people like you did in the Railroad, Brotherhood of Steel and the other factions and then come back to me to get your first "go kill person X" mission.

What the christ

Awesome thanks. I remember last time I was going to buy it wasnt implemented, glad to hear it.

Is everyone busy clicking through their discovery queue? Feels like this thread got a lot slower :D
People might be GASP! playing games they bought instead of buying things on impulse and complaining other games don't go on daily sales anymore.

Looking for a good co-op game to play online with a good friend of mine. Trying to put together a shortlist here:

- 7 days to die
- dying light

Does dying light offer full story mode co-op? All signs point to yes but having a verbal confirmation of that would be nice.

Any other suggestions? We've enjoyed lots of co-op games in the past - dead island, warhammers, resident evils, van helsings, Titans quest and other diablo clones, iron brigade, castle crashers, dungeon defenders, etc.

Pretty much any genre is free game. Story mode co-op preferred.

I'm going to plug Grim Dawn for those who enjoy ARPG hack-and-slash games like Diablo. It's currently 40% off, bringing it to $14.99. Several of its developers are the same people who worked on Titan Quest if anyone is familiar with that also great ARPG (which is $4 for the game and its expansion - pick this up too!). It's still in early access but the devs are aiming to be content complete in the next build release (which should be 1-3 months). Despite that I've already invested hundreds of hours into it and could invest hundreds more.

I'm going to quote myself with a correction. This game is actually 'Content Complete' as of today. Apparently I was mistaken, the latest build wasn't in 1-3 months, it was right now.

All story save for the tutorial and final level in Dying Light are co-op.

There will definitely be some growing pains, and I'm extremely surprised Valve didn't push a meta game to increase consumer engagement over the course of the sale.

Their "meta-game" is the terrible discovery queue this outing. Where I click "next game-next game-next game-next game-finished" and repeat the process two more times for cards instead of actually looking at what they're recommending me.

(Mostly because it's full of "THIS IS RECOMMENDED FOR YOU BECAUSE IT'S ON SALE/HIGHLY REVIEWED")

So I'm having a bit of a struggle. I'm torn between picking up 4 games, I want to only buy one, I might change my mind again who knows. I just beat Fallout 4 and currently playing through Wolfenstein: TNO so this will be my next game.

MGS V: Never played a Metal Gear, but it has great reviews and several are naming it GOTY. It's the priciest of the bunch. It looks to have great gameplay and freedom of approaches so it might be interesting.

Dark Souls II SOTFS: I thought for sure this was going to be it, I tried Dark Souls the original but didn't really get into it and then I heard there were issues with Microsoft GFWL so I didn't go back. Thought this would a good way to jump back in and see if I could get captured by it especially with DS3 on the horizon. Then I watch a YouTube review by some guy named Sephiroth stating that this version made it even more punishing on newcomers and the new positioning was bad and pacing worse than the vanilla version (which I never played) but it's making me reconsider.

GTA V: I bought this on Xbox 360, couldn't beat it because the frame rate was just unbearable for me. Bought it again on the Xbox One but was too busy with work to even play it so I sold it. Now it's on sale on PC I can finally beat it and there should definitely be some expansions for it on the horizon you would think? Maybe this is the right time to revisit and enjoy the mods that only PC can provide.

Pillars of Eternity: Never played an RPG like this so this is kind of the odd ball, would be completely new ground for me. Is it voice acted? I'm a huge RPG fan, Witcher 3 is my GOTY so maybe this could be up my alley?

I know I'm probably overthinking this.

Pretty exciting...I just played through Diablo 3, and itching for another ARPG. Might consider it later in the sale if someone is willing to co-op with me.

Pick ups so far:

Ryse: Son of Rome
Shovel Knight
D4
The Long Dark
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

I will repeat what I said a few days ago, although Grim Dawn isnt a bad game, if you are looking for another diablo 3 just play Path of Exile. It is free and the better game, or just play both. Just repping path of exile as if people haven't played it and liked Diablo 2....it is a must play.

But what kind of argument is that? "They take a long time so they have to take a long time." Put in less patterns then? Besides, I played two bosses and they repeat themselves a lot. For example, Vespula (the second boss) alternates between shooting patterns and bringing in "the swarm", which is just a ton of enemies specifically designed to make the fight take longer.

Also, really don't know where you got the idea that sponginess is standard in arcade shooting... It's quite widely considered to be poor design.
