God forbid they give you skins and crates you can sell on the market for steam dosh for playing their game... and how DARE they!!

I honestly do not get the outrage over KF2 drops, it is the same system as CS:GO and only cosmetic, if people want to open cases let them, I will happily sell mine for gaben dollars.

Not to mention KF1 had a ton of cosmetic DLC you had to pay for, in the new system skins drop so you might get a cosmetic item just for playing the game (again, which you can keep or sell on the market)

Please explain to me the outrage.. IT's not like payday 2 where the drops give stat bonuses or other perks, they are all literally cosmetic only

They're adding the system before the game is even out of Early Access. You don't see the problem with implementing the system before the rest of the perks, more maps, and balance changes are in?

hey

hey Sgt.Pepper

I super, 100% get why someone might not ever click with Divinity:OS. It is certainly not a game for everyone, and it's a game that, through its own design choices, might even push potential fans away. It really does have some sloppy pacing in the first six hours of the game (levels 2-4, essentially the Cyseal town section prior to heading on out for adventures). It's absolutely get-over-able, but if someone were to state they stalled during that section I couldn't in all good faith fault them.

It's a damn fine game though. Just fun, doing what it wants you to do (eventually) -- fight stuff, interact, experiment, try shit out. It's a game that wants you to save a lot and fuck around. It IS also a game that wants you to read a lot (or, I guess, listen a lot given the EE voice acting inclusions). And that's on you.

not really, as I and others have already benefited from the drops (sold a couple cases for 1.50 each) so the current users are already getting positives out of it, they also released a new update soon after they launched the drop system so it's not like they wasted a ton of time and aren't updating on a regular basis.

I dunno, it doesn't necessarily overlap. Are the engine programmers or sound designers going to be working on the store? If these are artists which would normally have downtime using their time to create content then okay.

Plus, the paid features I would like to be ironed out before it leaves early access.

The thing about early access is that people see the game's been out for eight months and start saying "what the fuck, it's been out for eight months and still isn't done?" When honestly, games nowadays take years to develop. It's only been eight months, people should stop freaking out. They just released some maps and a new boss this month.

Finally caved and bought a few things.

Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen
Grim Dawn
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Got DD with 20% off at GMG and figured I should finally pick up Grim Dawn now that it is feature complete. Only $15 to boot.

Got an itchy trigger finger on Divinity and Pillars of Eternity. Cant decide if I should pick one up or both. I only have my backlog to play until DD and Dark Souls 3 are out.

Why are some games going on sale even more? Not that I mind but am I able to get a refund and purchase it again at the lower price if it happens to me?

Not with the way Refunds are glacial in being refunded, no. It's also a symptom of Valve not saying "this sale price is the sale price through out" in a post-daily/flash world.

It's stupid as hell, though. You don't know if Ubisoft is part of the sale or not given the "will it go deeper or not" fiasco.

Wait, I thought the whole point of eliminating the flash/dailies was so Valve wouldn't get swamped with refund requests during the sale? Otherwise, why make these sales worse by eliminating their best feature?

So... wait for the dailies then :O and buy on the last day.

Isn't the speed of refunds predicated by the financial institutions though? Valve's end is totally automated.

As long as you haven't played it for more than 2 hours you can just submit a refund ticket and buy it as a gift at the lower price. Just keep it in your inventory until the refund does get processed.
But refund tickets get processed pretty fast, anyway. It's getting you the money that takes time.

This is a scheduled automated repost on behalf of HeroInGreen, who is running this raffle.

Buy Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines ! It's only U$ 5 !

Grrr, I want to buy this but I have a strict policy that I won't buy any game until I clear my backlog to a certain degree, despite the price. If I succumb to buying games I won't play in this very week, all hell is going to break loose.

Vampire has been on my future to-do list for a while now.

Throw away your policy. Buy it.

Any recommendations for Project Zomboid?
If you're looking for a zombie slaughtering game, PZ is not for you.

If you're looking for a building game, PZ is not for you.

If you're looking for a post-apocalyptic survival simulation, PZ is for you. You will live, struggle, survive, and then you will die.
Project Zomboid is definitely a long-haul Early Access project though, so don't jump in expecting it to finish development anytime soon. It's aiming high and getting there inch by inch. I have absolute faith the devs'll complete the game one day.

Here's another indie gem to consider: Deadnaut ($4.99)
Deadnauts, so named because they’re unlikely to return, must explore, investigate and fight their way through the derelict ships of dead civilisations. Every mission is unique and no two locations are the same. Each ship contains mysterious enemies and hostile security systems. Manage your Deadnauts' skills, talents, relationships and flaws - and you might get them out alive.

I'll let Pylon Trooper sing its praises

Thanks for this post! I think i'm gonna definitely pick it up. Also guys Steam recently came to chile and with it the ability to buy certain games, is a licensing thing right?

So far I've only picked Invisible Inc. with the Contingency Plan and Heroes of Might and Magic V because it was 10 cents.

Been playing Why Am I Dead at Sea and it's a really engaging little murder mystery game. Lots of walking and talking, but it does a good job at presenting the cast of characters in this mystery. And to think I hadn't heard of this game until someone mentioned it in this thread :)

Scouring for more hidden indie titles in this thread and the other one. Also got Renowned Explorers, which was compared to roguelikes and FTL by another GAF member.

I do want to get Contradiction, though that's not got any discounts in this winter sale at the moment.
