soundtrack was weak, but it still bests many recent movies so at the time it was hard to complain
But why her? Plenty of people can be competent military and/or political leaders. Almost nobody can use the Force, but she can, so it sounds like she should have had some Jedi training. Seems like a waste to have her just be a military leader. Unless she uses the Force in more subtle manners like using Jedi mind tricks during diplomatic negotations, lol. That'd be shady as hell, but quite interesting. She being able to sense Han's death shows she knows a thing or two about the force, but I don't think she'll be fighting on the ground in the future, someone's gotta lead the resistance.
She and Rey felt each other's grief over Han's death at the end of movie. That's probably the best scene her sensitivity's ever been put to use in, too.
I'm sure she's plenty sensitive, but being sensitive and taking to lightsaber combat are probably reasonably different things.
And like MMarston says, she's busy, it's not like Luke is around now, etc.
Somebody mentioned it earlier, but it seems like based off her position in the film as well as other material, she was way too pre-occupied with being a leader to tackle all that Jedi stuff.
Just didn't suit her. Quite frankly, I prefer her this way.
Yeah, it's gone.

Yeah, I guess so. You'd think that Luke would have spent some time training her a bit though, before things turned sour and he fucked off at the other end of the galaxy. XDShe's been a political/rebellion leader for most of her life. So its what she's good at, and holds a lot of respect and power in it. I'm sure people realize that she is somewhat Force sensitive, but at the same time its her choice. There's nobody around telling her what to do, Force wise.
Couldn't Kylo have mind read Poe to get the map info?
I guess he didn't see the map himself.

if you go star wars rank tho then yeah, it shows that it was flimsy
She's the sole reason the resistance exist, the new republic didn't want to get involved, so she gotta do it herself. But why her? Plenty of people can be competent military and/or political leaders. So.. this is going to be in the Bluray I guess, way to lure fans.

I'm hoping he has some part to play in taking down Kylo. You can't be comatose'd and not get any sort of revenge.Damn I hope my boy Finn gets another shot at using a lightsaber.
It's like the legit the most important thing to me in these upcoming movies.
I think that while the score doesn't have many strong new standout themes, it's absolutely great at setting the mood and punctuating moments within scenes, which the OT's scores excelled at as well. It's really just the absence of prominent new themes that makes it less memorable than its counterparts in the other films. TFA's score recaptures the distinctive tone of the originals very well, which I enjoyed.yeah, I've been listening to it for awhile now. I like it. I don't love it. And I'm a MASSIVE fucking John Williams fan. But this is the least of the 7. I think it's because Williams just really isn't built for those types of scores anymore, and hasn't been for awhile. Even in Sith, you could feel him going into a different direction, artistically, and the scores he's done since bear that out.
Basically, it's too far along to go that far back again
From this point on, just make Leia a super-sassy smart-ass general who ain't taking anybody's shit. With Han dead, she takes it on herself to up the snark quotient.
Snoke is the Wizard of Oz.
iunderstoodthatreference, but as Luke's twin, he didn't have that much of a headstart on her, y'know. He never saw the projection. Only the USB stick.
She was too old. Yes. Too old to begin the training.
Obviously not! I wouldn't want her to start doing Jedi combat. But the Force has other cool powers. I hope we get to see her use it in some interesting ways in the next film.I mean let's be perfectly frank here. You're not going to see Leia using massive force powers or weilding a lightsaber because this is 59 year old Carrie Fisher in these films. Despite the fight choreography in TFA being much more down to earth (ie BETTER) than the ridiculous PT fight choreography, it's still well beyond ANH-level "banging two sticks together a few times" saber battles.
I'd rather they tailor the role to what Fisher wants and can do well rather than get stuck with adding ridiculous CG Leia for some fight scene.
Yeah I thought that was odd too. Maybe as a tribute to the adoptive family she lost. Who knows lol.Speaking of which, why did she keep the name Organa? She should be General Skywalker or Solo or Amidala![]()
It's a joke and is the funniest part of the film/series. No one cares about C3PO and the mystery of his red arm. It will never be solved and it's better that way. Comic books aren't canon. Can they first explain why C3PO's arm was red though?
Like unless I missed a line of dialogue, it wasn't said. Ugh, this better not be one of those "left to comics and books" outside source material explanation things.

Kylo would probably usurp the throne like Vader planned to.God I'd love it if he turns out to be as ineffectual as the Wizard of Oz was.
Or she could fight like the emperor in the original trilogy, only with the force.I mean let's be perfectly frank here. I never knew how much I wanted this to happen until I read these posts. HahahaBasically just make her more like Carrie Fisher.
That was indeed bizarre. The reason for his sudden departure better be damn good.I'm still in disbelief that Luke straight up dipped because of the Knights of Ren. Luke, the guy who stood up to the emperor. I feel like he lost someone incredibly important if he was so affected as to leave everything behind.
Also Captain Phasma is just meta-commentary about Star Wars merchandising and action figures. It's all superficial junk and will ultimately end up in the garbage.

His reason for not going back to save Han better be good. What else could he have been doing there but meditating? He probably saw what was going to happen.
Maybe it's addressed in Rebels but are Jedi just the biggest shirkers of responsibility? Aren't there Jedi in Rebels that Yoda could be helping but he decided to hide in a swamp instead? And now Luke seems to have lost his new order to Kylo and decided to run away, too. (I like to think that he's trying a new spin on balance by purposefully not creating more Jedi. I was really hoping Finn would show that strategy goes against how the world works.)
I hope Snoke from TFA gets thrown out like Rick Baker's wife's Emperor, from Empire.Snoke is the Wizard of Oz.

Oh man, she's Kylo cousin. That means Han Solo is related to Obi-Wan.
No, but they don't usually reunite with their biological twin brother and live through life-changing adventures with him either.Of course it is. Do you think most people who are adopted give that name up for the surname of their biological parents?

Absolute waste of a great actress if so. I'm holding out hope that she's going to become Finn's nemesis as a mirror arc to Rey and Ren.
Warning, I spoiled this posters comments but it wasn't originally that way.
You really are the worst. A person gives a warning, and you extract it's contents for everyone to see.
No, but they don't usually reunite with their biological twin brother and live through life-changing adventures with him either.
Sigh, nevermind, not worth itWhat does that have to do with changing her last name?
Maybe he was disturbed by the idea of perpetuating his father's dark legacy. It can't feel good to be directly responsible for empowering a new fallen Jedi, especially considering his personal ties to both Vader and Kylo, and his own brush with the dark side where he nearly hacked Vader to bits at the end of ROTJ. I can't blame him for wanting to get away from that mess.I'm still in disbelief that Luke straight up dipped because of the Knights of Ren. Luke, the guy who stood up to the emperor.
