I just completed Murder: Steam says I played literally 21 minutes.
And this by achieving the...hidden ending? I don't even know if it's hidden or what, it's just a couple of repeated screens and that's it.

Very disappointed: art is great, here (and it was in Stranded), but there's no gameplay, but that's ok too, because this was an "interactive short story".

The real problem is, there's not even a story. Really, what's the point of the plot?

The game literally starts, throw you in a...situation? I mean, it's not even a "situation", it's just a fact? And the game ends.

There are free to play titles on Steam much, much better than this (in example, Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist) providing great contents and asking literally zero, when they should deserve some money for what they offer.

Here the developer charges 3€ for this product. It's not that much, but really the game doesn't deserve so much money, because it offers literally NOTHING except four or five good looking screens (a couple are great, the others are just uninteresting).

Did you play Stranded? If so, how was it? I've been eyeing it for a while as the art looks amazing. I know it isn't much of a game but I'm wondering how much there is to it as a "experience".

Stranded is more or less the same thing, but it's a bit longer (Steam says 61 minutes). The art is, again, great (I bought it because the game gave me The Dig vibes). There's a bit of gameplay, here, you need to go forth and back between a bunch of screens and some "events" will happen, but again the plot is totally missing. Both are VERY slow games, since you can't control freely your character, you basically click on a hotspot and you need to watch the whole animation (you can only click on fixed spots).

My advice is to take it while in a bundle or heavily discounted,

Looks like the $5 GMG Stasis deal is dead. When I apply the code it calculates to $12. Damn... Gotta love a good price mistake/glitch. But no biggie, I can wait.

Apologies if old but Amazon UK has the witcher 3 expansion pass for only £9!

Really regretting that my copy is a steam copy right now ;_;

managed to buy it before it was fixed.
That was a game I didn't even know existed before the glitch.
So +1 for the developers and GMG.

Anyone up for a Project Zomboid 4-pack?

My fiance' and I want 2 of the keys to do a little co-op so if we can add a couple more GAFers I'll go ahead n pull the trigger. Please PM me and maybe post here if you're interested.

It's not a huge difference in price vs. buying keys individually, but will save us a couple bucks each.

The only caveat to keep in mind is that presumably the normal money-back guarantee wouldn't be applicable unless all of us hate the game and agree to do a refund request. So keep that in mind if you're not sure you want it.

Note: There's a demo available, which is kinda rare these days. I checked it out and really liked it so have been waiting for it to go back on sale since I missed the Halloween 2014 price. If you're unsure, check it out.

Mods: Apologies in advance if this isn't allowed in this thread, but I'm not sure where else to post the idea. Feel free to move where appropriate. Thanks!

You know, I always wondered why Lucasarts never made a Star Wars adventure game. They made at least two Indy adventure games and it wasn't as if they were shy about making Star Wars games on the PC or in general during the period in which they were putting out the best adventure games ever.

Just curious for what the reasoning there was.

Finally picked up Undertale and now both it and Lisa are going to fight to the death for my attention.

I wonder if Undertale has any horseshit ultrabad random encounters involving Snakes that take 90 years to kill.

Star Wars just doesn't fit well with LucasArts' adventure games' mood - the humor is a great match for a game like Indy, but there's something to be said about the fact that their weakest games (The Dig, Loom) are the ones that are the most serious in tone. Not that Star Wars is hard science or anything, but it just wouldn't have that Tim Schafer / Ron Gilbert kind of humor that really makes these games shine. They probably knew that the setting lent itself better to other genres they were also very good at.

guys have any suggestions for arcade racers?

Old games are fine, cheap is fine.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is excellent. It does have items (unless you turn them off for single races or multiplayer), but unlike Mario Kart it's still a solid racing game without them.

And OutRun 2 of course, but, yeah. :(

Will there be a year end sale on gog.com too?

I will a attend a retro LAN on the 29th (AoE II, Quake 3, UT, Giants, Warcraft 3 TD etc) and I was looking forward to picking up Jedi Knight 2 and Galactic Battlegrounds from gog for that. It's on sale on steam right now, but we won't have Internet there...

Played through Costume Quest + dlc. I liked the simplicity, but only for the first couple of hours. Gets old fast. I'm guessing the sequel is just more of the same?

Going to start Her Story next.

i'm fine with a lot of those depending on prices for now (will wait on higher priced games)

all star racing, kart racers are great

outrun 2 is on steam? was thinking it wouldn't be there. Have datyona on my ps3 but didn't pull it up on steam search for some reason

Distance I will look into since I don't remember (great to say games that are a bit more unknown)

I own some off the other games on ps3 but may double dip if there are any real cheap games or worth while reasons to upgrade to pc

Also added flatout package to my cart.

Wacky wheels will have to check as well

Are any of the extra stuff in the Champion and Royal edition of Pillars of Eternity any good or necessary?

Anyone know if I can just do with the basic version? I haven't actually played any games in that genre, even though I own Shadowrun: Returns/Dragonfall and Divinity: Original Sin - EE.

I'm also surprised at how many games I have bought this sale so far:

- Rocket League - Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC Pack
- Rocket League - Back to the Future™ Car Pack
- Rocket League - Chaos Run DLC Pack
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
- Why Am I Dead At Sea
- Undertale
- The Long Dark
- Sunless Sea
- Bionic Commando
- Double Dragon: Neon
- King's Quest - Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember
- Quake Live

Bought a bunch of games last night expecting Undertale to be the one that I enjoyed the most but damn, Transistor is great!

Only played a small amount but I'm looking forward to continuing it.

Massive Chalice and Shadowrun: Hong Kong.
And that's all for me; this year I'm uncharacteristically waiting for pre-orders.
Got Dark Souls 3 and waiting to get some money to pre-order XCom 2.
I haven't pre-orderer games since Bioshock Infinite; now I have two of them. It's crazy.

Mad Max at $20 (66% off) is tempting for me. Anyone think it will drop lower than that? I still need to finish Fallout 4 and plan on Just Cause 3 next, before playing Mad Max.

I'm considering buying my dad a game on this sale. He loves puzzle games, things like Mah Jong, Chess, Sudoku. Back in the days of old when he used to play he loved Sokoban, Boulder Dash, and Lemmings. I'm sure there are many great indie games he would love but I'm out of touch with these kinds of games. All recommendations would be welcome.

Spacechem is one of the greatest indie puzzle games in recent memory IMHO.

Check out Hexcells/Squarecells, Sokobond and Lyne.

Edit: Spacechem is amazing too but it's more like visual programming than traditional puzzle solving.

Hexcells or SquareCells.
They're like if Sudoku met Minesweeper.
