If you enter a country illegally, you sure as shit deserve to get deported.
It's becoming more and more difficult for Europeans to get visas to go to America because of people entering illegally and ruining it for everyone else.

There's a lot of racism that gets tolerated on gaf, but denying people's identity is crossing the line. You can hate people of color, but you can not tell them that they are not who they are.
Edit: I'm still blown away by this post. Like, I've met a lot of really racist white people before, but I've never seen one tell a black person their ancestor's weren't slaves.

So H1B- visas can come here, without being saddled with debt due to their cheap/free College in their home nation, and lower the wages in skilled jobs Americans who went in to debt over here need to pay off such debt?
If we are being honest these H1B(not only from Europe, but from Asia and Africa) are fucking the American middle class as much as the undocumented workers fuck over the lower class in this country. I remember this year Disney tech workers having to train their own H1B replacements before being laid off. Shit is fucked up.

Because we go there legally? Everyone should follow the same rules
H1B is being exploited hard by tech management in U.S. Even liberal IT workers are voicing their concerns for it. H1B is only supposed to fulfill requirements for unavailable specialized talent, but it is mostly being used to recruit cheaper workers driving wages down for network/system admins. So far only Trump has talked about it.

The argument that we "ruin" it for everyone else is a little silly. Also, people need to recognize there's a lot of nuance to this as well. A lot of us didn't enter illegally(or were brought here at a very young age) and certainly didn't plan on staying and suffering through the consequences of being "illegal". Shit, I didn't even know I was an illegal immigrant until I turned 16.
And for some reason the blame is on the individuals being hired rather than the dickheads hiring them. The hilarious bit is that Trump is that same type of dickhead to exploit the system.

I have a valid SS #(from a declined application, was given temporary stay during the application but later was denied, the SS # stays with me even though my status reverts back to "illegal") and if I didn't, I'd have a tax ID which a lot of illegal immigrants use to file. They file, pay and don't receive anything(not saying they should, but that is the case).

I do think that our immigration policies should be better than they are now, but I have such a hard time wanting anything to do with the current methods when I know what the major driving factors are. Considering how our justice system tends to treat minorities, I would really like more information about those court orders.

My father brought me over with my sister and mother on a VISA. The plan was to come, stay for only a little bit and then go back(and re-apply again). We had a nice life back home, my father had a great job as an engineer and we owned our own beautiful home. Unfortunately my mother developed severe schizophrenia and everything changed. Hispanic culture doesn't deal with mental illness very well so my father really had no clue what was going on or what to do, plans had to change when he had to fulfill both roles and work very difficult low paying jobs. We ended up overstaying the Visa obviously, but my father underestimated how difficult the process or life would be with that status moving forward(especially after 9/11). Eventually I found out, took it in stride because I am an American, no doubt about that, I just deal with it.
