Awesome Games Done Quick 2016: January 3rd - 10th.

The best games are always on when it's most convenient for the US I swear, share the love!

Haven't checked the full schedule yet though, could just be getting bitter about day 1. Should probably donate, been watching this thing for like 3 years

Here's an image of the schedule today if you can't access the site.

Man, I can't tell you how many Super Monkey Ball runs I've watched over the years, but they still always knock my socks off.

Unfortunately, with football on today and work tomorrow, I think that's the last run I'll be tuning into until Battleblock Theater tomorrow evening.

Didn't read the entire thread, but didn't see it in the op, so here is the great link for being able to play the stream by itself in VLC or MPC.

Got it in a past GDQ thread and forget who it was from so can't give credit. You have to rerun it every time the stream crashes to generate a new link.

Thank you! I didnt see it in OP for some reason. So I started looking in the thread for it.

Rayman Legends has so many weird techniques. It's overwhelming to try and learn to speed through that game haha.

Some DKC:TF runners actually prefer the Wiimote controls with the waggle over the button controls. It blows my mind since I do somewhat decent speed runs of levels in TF and can't imagine not using the regular controls haha.

Kinda late reply but that's not true anymore. It was discovered a while back that the load times are shorter if you play using the gamepad, so that's what we all use now.

Ah Rayman, such a glorious platformer. I'm probably one of like five people who actually liked the touchscreen levels, but I definitely get why people might not like them and it's pretty obvious they'd suck for speedrunning.

With all respect to the runner, Wii U version is the best one.

Way more fun, specially multiplayer.
In multiplayer do the Murphy levels not play as slow auto-scrollers? I take it that is what the commentator kind of meant when they said they tried Wii U and had difficulty using a GamePad and a controller at the same time.

Stopped watching the run now as I kind of need to play the rest of that game sometime.

Hahaha wut, that's odd. Shame there's not TF run this year.

Yea we're not entirely sure why the load times are shorter, but it's a pretty noticeable difference.

And yea couple runners submitted Any% and 100% for AGDQ but no luck this time. Hopefully it'll be in for SGDQ.

Multiplayer with Murphy is available also in the back to origins levels. Those ones are not auto scrollers.

The music rhythmical ones in multiplayer are super fun with the Gamepad.

i do understand he was talking from a speedrun perspective thaught.

So, I was looking at Super Mario Maker on the schedule and there are 8 listed under runners.

How is this going to work? I don't think splitting the screen into 8 is going to work, so maybe it is broken into 2 heats of 4 runners?

Is he using a Wii U Pro?

He must like the stick position.

The Wii U Pro controller is my go-to for any PC games I'm using a controller with. I for one like the stick position and the lack of analogue triggers never bothered me. The battery life and feel of the thing are fantastic.
