How??

A lot of disposable income and very little sense.

Scrolls of Paralysis is how I did it. That's how I cheesed the fight, by just getting lucky with those and wailing on it for a while.

If you've talked to the dragon, you can also
go find the Dragonslayer she wants to possess and tell her the truth. You'll get a very helpful ability called Scale Breaker.
i never used traps or scrolls in the whole game, so it's weird to start now :I

it's one of the reasons i never liked the d&d base system, there's just so much STUFF in it and so much of it is inconsequential (here's 6 different versions of magic missile!) that i end up getting overwhelmed and just try to avoid a lot of things to keep the game in a manageable state

that's why i generally prefer smaller parties and why i don't ever like magic in these kinds of games

i gave it a couple shots an got sort of ok by sneak-killing the charmer dudes then tanking with eder on one side while i try to deal with the xaunip army but eder gets killed eventually or i get my whole party oneshot with that aoe thing so i'm kind of stuck

i think i'm just gonna finish the game, i don't find this much fun and i can already see myself getting frustrated with the game about this if i keep at it

Funny thing is that 15k badge probably cost less than some of the lower badges in prior sales, cards were dirt cheap from the very beginning.

I always loved that about the D&D system. But whatever, If you're not having any fun, it's the smart move to just move on. You can always return to the fight at a later date after you've levelled up, if you want. If not, there's plenty more fun stuff to do in the game.

That Valve actually had card art not only setup on such largely separated tiers but has one for a level 15 000 badge feels kinda scummy.

Can anyone help me out with getting the last 4 cards I need for the badge? I can't use the Steam Market for 7 days because I am away on my laptop at a new IP.

PM me please if you can help!

Hard West is really fun. It's like XCOM but with a twist of the supernatural. It's not as complex as XCOM but it has the perk and luck system to keep it interesting.

I have a bad feeling that once the sale is over, I'll remember that I forgot to buy something.

Question: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands™ Digital Deluxe Edition list that it will give you a copy of Prince of Persia®: The Sands of Time for free. Now is that a Uplay or Steam copy?

Edit: Nevermind. The answer is yes, it is a Steam copy.

yeah, it's basically all that's left for me in the game, i've done most quests and i've done enough bounties that i feel ok with how i'm leaving the game.

all that i'm missing is killing the big dragons and finishing the game

and the dlc, but i might take a break before getting to that

Is it okay to just buy Outcast & Academy without any of the previous games in the 'Jedi Knight' series? Would I miss out on any story while doing so?

Don't have much of an interest in playing through the older ones if it's not that essential.

I didn't end up buying anything for myself, but I did buy a few Christmas gifts for others. The nice part about no daily deals is it makes it easier to shop for other people. The downside is I barely paid attention to Steam the entire sale, except to check my discovery queue for the card drops. And my discovery queue did not have a single interesting game in it (considering I remembered to check 10 days, at 30 games a day, it's almost impressive how consistently terrible it was).

If Valve could actually do something with discoverability features besides throw a higher volume of games in your face, maybe this change in sale structure might have some benefit, but as it is I'll probably just buy less in sales. But hey, at least my backlog isn't growing exponentially.

I have a bad feeling that once the sale is over, I'll remember that I forgot to buy something.

That's what the next sale is for.

You'll be fine. The stories in the first couple games are rather light, to the point where the main character went from a Han Solo type to a Jedi in the following game just because they thought it'd be cool.

You'll miss out on some backstory for some characters but it's not exactly essential.

Well, had to buy something, so I got two cheap games for about a buck seventy-five, which is roughly what I made selling the spare cards from the sale badge.

Debating on if Cities Skylines, Her Story, AOE 2 HD, and Talos Principle are worth it right now. Already have a sizable backlog, and already jumped on New Vegas and Undertale. Could use the funds I devoted for a new game at Best Buy instead (Mario Maker and Splatoon chief among them).

Thoughts on those (other than AoE of which I enjoyed when it originally released)?

funstockdigital currently has the full collection for about $4, which is less than just those two from steam, so unless you are trying to spend wallet cash that is probably the better way to go.

Normal NeoGaf Steam thread up after the sales end today.

We need a name....

STEAM January 2016 -

Ports come in packs Arisen! (since we're getting DD, Resident Evil, and Tomb Raider and they're arguably the most notable releases of the month, save maybe the Witness)

Oh my, I was going to try and think of one, but yeah, seems we do have a winner.

Edit: Oh, top of the page. We're just getting ready to move back to community is 11-so hours and a subtitle was selected that was on-point.

Hmm, I assume you were referring to this? Star Wars Jedi Knight Collection - Funstock Digital
I went to check it out but I think you might have had the wrong currency on, since after switching to USD it works out to be almost the same as Steam. Thanks for the tip anyway!

Thanks for the impressions, I decided to just go ahead and jump on the bundle anyway if I'm planning to buy those 2 since it works out to just $0.01 in savings lol.
Might as well have the others there in my library if I ever get the urge to play them someday =P

My last purchase was Resident Evil 0. Can't wait for Capcom January.

Dusk's write-up of Zero was excellent. It is definitely an underrated game, though the removal of Crimson Heads and less variety in enemies was a complete travesty. Billy Coen was surprisingly well-acted for a Capcom English RE game around that time. I'm going to pre-order sometime next week probably, I'm lazy.

I hope to see the day where Crimsons return to the franchise, one of my favourite game mechanics ever.

It is definitely underrated, cannot believe people are more defensive of CVX than 0. CVX was a drag (still good though).

Crimson heads is where I got my GAF name from :3

I had a mental fear of Crimson Heads since the GC version of remaster was released. Nothing else in any other video game has ever scared me or put as much fear into me like the way Crimson Heads have.

I only managed to overcome it when the PC version released.

No Crimsons Heads but the leech man for RE0 was an improvement in my eyes. I never liked the whole burn zombie mechanic anyway. Also yeah it surprises me that so many defend CVX and not 0. I honestly think it's just a case of more people have played CVX. Hopefully this port changes how people view 0. It ain't perfect, but it gets a bit more of a bad rap than it should.

The one thing I remember about the leech man is the SCREECH SCREECH SCREECH music. I wish 0 had more variation in its enemies too.

Well, rich people exist. Some of those rich people have steam accounts. It's quite simple :P

If you actually bought the cards through the market its about $10000.

But more than that - that would be a pain in the ass to click through... he probably has servants that made him do it.

Sometimes I see crazy amounts spend on humble bundles... I suppose its the same sort of thing.

Can't you just list buy orders? He probably had each at a set price and kept getting more and more by instant sellers.

Thanks for the advice guys decided to go ahead and just get Final Fantasy XI figured it's on it's last legs and that their is at least a decent community even if the Steam version doesn't have the most recent things $20 isn't bad at all and the free trial won't activate until I finally decide to get around to playing it. Who knows how much lnoger the game will be up even if we can play it by other means it may not be avaliable on Steam at that point so as far as we know we may have 2 major steam sales left on it so why not.
Wait, the Steam version doesn't have the most recent content? Why is that?

If you're interested, we could play the game together? I'm looking to completing the story before it dies down.
