For those concerned with the ENB look, it is very heavily tweakable. If there is something you don't like about the ENB, you can almost certainly change it/disable it/enhance it.

The free DLC items super break the game. You start with a piece of armor in your storage that has mediocre stats... but you can sell it for 312,000 gold. That'll last you a very long time.

So you can change the music tracks in the game?
Definitely going to replace it with GARO Honoo no Kokuin's OST then
Can't wait for a good enb too.

But then you'll miss the amazing boss battle theme :(

That being said, replacing the title theme with the true title theme day one.

Man, looks like there are going to be lots of post-process injectors ready for release. I particularly like the one from that dpeasant guy on ENB's forum.

Hopefully some people will share their presets for ENB, ReShade, etc. I'm really bad at making something good myself.

I'll try do a quick walk through.

Edit: Actually, I just found a way easier/better way to do this.

Make sure you have this middle setting applied already.

File, export audio.

Save as type: Ogg vorbis
Name your file: *filename*.sngw.

You can adjust quality settings at this point by pressing options in the lower right corner. An ogg quality 5 is about the same as a ~128kbps MP3.

Hit save.

You'll come to this screen:

Set channels to 6.

I believe the layout is Left, Right, Center, Subwoofer, Left surround, Right surround.

As a result, this is the connection needed for the left speaker, the right speaker, and the final result.

Left

Right

Final

At that point you can just hit okay, and the song should work with full surround support.

Wow, thanks for this!

As several people are able to play the game at this time. Does this have proper 21:9 support? It looks like seeing in the settings that it does render the game properly but that the UI gets cut off. I hope there is some sort of UI fix for that

Is there a list of this dlc somwhere? Can't seen anything on Steam

You'd have to look up the console DLC lists, since here they are all already in the game as mentioned by Wbacon in the Steam FAQ.

Q) Is the Eternal Ferrystone and bonus items/gears available in the PC version?
A) Yes! Bonus Items immediately accessible are: Swordman’s Ring, Daggerist’s Ring, Staff-Bearer’s Ring, The Lion’s Spine, Robe of Enlightenment, Wavering Cloth, Vagabond Armor, Tiara of Enlightenment, Ruminator’s Monocle, Jester’s Cap, and Fiend-luring Incense. Completing the first escort quest and reaching Gran Soren will unlock the following: Eternal Ferrystone, Set of Fop’s Trek Wear, Voldoan Armor, Priest Vestments, Lady’s Trek Wear, Queen’s Clothing, and Nun Vestments.
Q) What DLCs are included? Are there any plans for future DLCs?
A) Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for Steam is the complete package. There is no additional content to purchase beyond the base game! All previously released DLCs on the console, including pre-order exclusives and bonus content, are all baked into the game.

Technically, for this game, there is no DLC. Only far more bonus shit stacked on your character pretty much straight out of the gate.

I've am currently going through some Souls games in preparation for DD.

What I want to know is the Monster Hunter connection to this series. There's no way Capcom didn't transpant elements from their other action RPG franchise to Dragon's Dogma.

I've been playing a a lot of Dark Souls in preparation even though they don't pay exactly alike.

very very slight. if i recall correctly you need certain drops from creatures to create certain armor/weapons. and you can target body parts.

Some of the classes play like certain weapons from MH. I'm thinking Great Sword is probably the most similar to something you'd find across the two games. It's more similar to DMC I would say overall though.

No, it doesn't. It's on the FAQ.
Q) Does the game still have letterboxing? [*UPDATED* Jan.8]
A) PC version now features full screen rendering without letterboxing on standard 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen monitors. 21:9 ultra widescreen monitors are not supported natively due to fixed UI elements.
Perhaps mods will fix it. You'll want to check this forum later, they usually do that.

Can anyone who played it confirm that I can use DS4 and DS4Window in this? The Last Remnent didn't get DS4Window so I can't use DS4 and Xbox button icon at the same time so I fear it would be the same here

Damn, those ENB effects look pretty. I think I'm willing to sacrifice downsampling for that.

I'm gonna ask again, is there a way to force the button prompts to stay with controller? I'm hoping to make a Steam Controller config using mouse for camera and the customizable hotkeys on a touch-menu.

don't think it's so much ok as it is that mods haven't come in to check. Remember that the watch dog thread with people playing leaked/torrented copies they were asking for receipt proof.

I asked about this earlier and people said I was just mad. I was always under the assumption discussing pirated copies of games was a no no on gaf.

The hype for this title is reaching a boiling point.
I've been meaning to replay this since summer last year. Only put it off because I knew the PC release was kinda sorta on the horizon so with us getting close to release now I'm getting super excited.

You can, just remember to always launch DS4Windows first before opening up Steam or any other program like fraps. Otherwise the DS4 won't work properly with Dragons Dogma.

ugh that grass/foliage. Is no one downsampling or is that the best it can do? if it is I might try and mess around with the textures and whatnot.

In my excitement waiting for this game, I ended up reading about the cut content. Not a real spoiler as none of this is in the game, but...

World size reduced to half during development, hang-gliding cut, planned moon visit cut (wtf), castle-sized monsters?!

Now I'm curious if this game has been data-mined yet..

A few minor things, I guess.
- You can mine ore with a pickaxe and gather fruit sometimes;
- Item combination is similar to MH;
- Greatsword (warrior vocation) gameplay has some superficial similarities;
- Same with daggers and dual blades and sword and board;
- Usage of stamina (not exclusive to MH of course) for special moves, and when you deplete it too fast you're out of breath and temporarily stunned;
- Monster parts for crafting (though it's mostly to upgrade gear rather than make them);
- You often fight giant beasts/bosses and the focus is sort of more on that vs fighting smaller mobs, though smaller mobs are more significant in DD than in MH.

Of course, there are a lot of things that are majorly different too. Combat is a lot faster, it's a full-blown RPG with levels, stats, etc., the world structure is completely different, it's not a grindy "hunting" type of game, there's no farming (literal farming, like at the village), and so on.

why am I so excited for a game I have already played to death??
I know right? I think the GAF excitement is contagious. xD

I'm of the opinion that High/Grand Bolide just *cannot* go out of style. Nor can things like fire-enchanting your Magick Shield and then Just Blocking a bandit who is blasted over the cliff from the firebolt retaliation (Or the equally, and literally, cool shotgun-blast from the frost equivalent). The game just has too satisfying combat feedback for all the cool shit you can do, and there are all kinds of cool shit to do with so many classes and skills to choose from. And the scenes with Grigori are just plain awesome, no matter how many times I get to those.

So yeah, the good shit in this is just so good and plentiful that it seems to never go stale.
Yes, that is (almost?) a cringeworthy fanboy-rant but eh, I'm having good time just riding the hype-wave.

Thinking of going through a super quick playthrough to start farming for Ascalon and then replay slowly. I can't live without my Ascalon.
