Fahrenheit is the more logical scale because it has more points of data compared to Celsius. It's a scale where water is measured at 32 degrees frozen and 212 degrees boiling (at sea level).

Using water as a demarcation line isn't practical in many senses because the range of temperature on earth is usually much lower than the boiling point of water.

Now we use Celsius in my work because the temperatures we measure are much HIGHER than the boiling point of water so as the scale goes higher having more points of data makes less and less sense. However at lower temperatures we do switch back to Fahrenheit because 5.5C isn't as granular as 5.5F.

Anyway it's like 5F here and windy.

Winter is finally here.

I cannot see how 32 and 212 are more logical than 0 and 100.

Because they're both completely arbitrary. Celsius was chosen to be a 100 point scale based on two states of water but the high point (100) isn't a temperature you see outside of extreme places on earth or by burning things. As a general everyday temperature scale, having it based on the boiling point of water is silly.

With Fahrenheit, you mostly stick to between 0-100 degrees as well (in the Continental US), but this is everyday temperature. Rarely do MOST places in the US see temperatures below 0 and the same for temperatures above 100. It's completely logical.

Celsius is the most logical of them.
No way Fahrenheit is more logical.

Kelvin is even better but I would not use it for every day stuff.

The temps of 50 and higher are used for cooking. the scale from -10 till 40 is used for temperature outside, with 0 being the point where water freezes outside.

If I BBQ my pork, it is until it is 80, when cook shit it is at a 100, when I grill it it is usually 200. All very practical. I am still not seeing the logic of Fahrenheit.

Cooking is always going to be at more extreme temperatures than everyday temperature so you're water boiling scale is again useless because most baking and grillings takes place above the boiling point. Even if you want to boil water, chances are you don't need to get your temperature to 100 degrees because chances are you aren't at sea level.

So the 0-100 scale based on water is needless unless you want to freeze or boil water, which is not something you need to do everyday.

(Wait, you need to boil water to make tea it all makes sense now.)

Saying the scale is logically between two points but those two points are for all practical purposes rarely used on a single scale is illogical. When you see an outside temperature thermostat in F it is usually between -20 and 120 and when you see an outside temperature thermostat in C it is NOT between 0 and 100. The rounded scale is unnecessary.
 
Can't we all agree that kilogram is the most nonsensical SI-unit (At least it uses prefixes instead of having weird systems like you british and american have), like seriously it just feels weird having to measure weight by some weight prototype made of platinum and iridium locked in some vault in France.

Actually that makes the most sense. You have a verified scale and weight is based on the gravitational pull exuded on that.

Also, I'm down with Celsius, it's a nice scale to have when temps get above 600F and I use it all the time at work. I just take issue with people who say it's more practical than Fahrenheit because it's based on the boiling and freezing point of water as if that's a practical scale to base temperature off of.

Also, up until you get to above 100C, it's super easy to convert C to F in your head.

Not particularly. They're mostly the same. You'll have a chance to redo the face at the start of ME2 (can't remember for ME3 if you import, but I believe so). Hair choice still kinda blows.

Meter used to be defined in about the same way, it was a stick in france made to be 1/10,000,000 of the distancec between north pole and the equator.
The problem with that is that the size of it changes with temperature so it's not 100% accurate so they changed it to be the distance light travels within 1/299,792,458 seconds.

Dude, it's awesome. I like 1 a lot, 2 was a ton of fun, and 3 felt like a movie. If you end up enjoying them, I definitely recommend getting all the dlc unless it came with it.

Yeah, I really like what I've played so far. Some of the side stuff can be very repetitive, but the main missions are great.

I bought the trilogy bundle, and according to the Mass Effect site, the PS3 version includes:

On PlayStation 3, Bring Down the Sky will be included both on disc and on the PSN download, Mass Effect 2 will still have the same DLC on-disc that it was originally shipped with: Cerberus Network; Genesis; Kasumi; Overlord; and Lair of the Shadow Broker. Finally, Mass Effect 3 will also be exactly as it originally shipped

I liked Shadow Broker the most from the ME2 dlc. Some of it just feels like extra missions, but I love that stuff. Just more content.

Yeah, I want all the DLC just because it's more content, but fuck yo. I just looked at the dlc prices on PSN. They need to put all that on sale. Costs far too much for as old as that stuff is.
