Pre-ordered on Amazon this morning for beta access, will cancel after I get the code.

So is there info somewhere about beta access I'm not seeing? I'm looking on Amazon and want to pull the trigger, but I don't see anything about the beta.

Edit: never mind, scrolled down far enough...

If you can, take a screenshot and post the information here. It would be very relevant information.

The high TTK in itself is not the problem, the issue is that it will be used as an excuse for bad, uninteresting AI.

It's an RPG, the TTK is based on your stats and the enemies stats. The AI had a tendency to stick to what worked based on their "setup/weapons".

The AI had moments where it would flank and spread out in the Alpha. They use grenades to flush you out. I reached a point where I was overpowering them though in the Alpha..really easily..using a certain setup.

Think we would have known already if that was true. Pre orders are also already up and dont see anything there also. Think its just a brand thing. Bundles, that exclusive beta (alpha) and Xbox One commercials. Thats it i think.

Decided to look it up myself and during the conference this slide appears at the end

So I don't know where IGN got the 'exclusive' part from but it seems like just timed content.

Has it been said how ammo works in the game?
Do you run out of bullets fast, have to scavenge and stuff, or do you have plenty of ammo?

Tought the AI was really good in the Alpha. Really moved arround and started to flank, got rushed by guys with bats. It was far from sitting at one place, peaking and shooting.

The exclusive was the alpha. So maybe they ment that?

You get ammo from guys you kill and pick up their loot, there were also some crates i came across from the military, also found some in shops etc. Your sidearm has infinite ammo btw. But for your primary and secondary you need to find it.

What kicks? Please don't project onto me.

Seems like you are going to be quite the great poster and a fantastic addition to GAF....

On topic, I have been going over the videos with a fine tooth comb, and looking at some of the online comparisons. Most of the effects from the original reveal seem to still be in.

The ones that are up in the air are some of the "procedural destruction" and the Global Illumination, which looked great, but seems to be missing from all XBO footage. Hopefully it is retained on PC. Because that alone made the game look soooo much better.

Also one of the videos noticed ice/snow no longer melts with fire/explosions. At least in the latest footage. Along with some real time reflections being replaced by cube maps, although the ground seems to still use screenspace.

Overall, still a great looking game regardless, but I just really hope they still retained the ability to crank it up to 11 on PC.
I would just like to point out that I see nothing wrong with any of those posts. There's nothing wrong with being skeptical about a videogame. Especially an Ubisoft published videogame.

P.s. is there location based damage? Do headshots do more damage than chest shots etc?

I said that cover mechanics + bullet sponge enemies + unchallenging mindless shooting mechanics = boring.
This is taken from marketing material that is supposed to excite you and make you interested in the game, it's supposed to be showing the best that the game has to offer, and this is what we get?

The trailer has me excited and I'll be purchasing it day one. It looks fun as hell. Your opinion means nothing to anyone in this thread when it consists of judging people for how they feel about a game or trailer. You're wasting your breath. Do everyone a favor and post somewhere else Junior.

Furthermore when you return to your hub base, you can refill all your ammo there (for free if i recall correctly from the alpha). There was a little box as soon as you walked in that you just had to select.

Don't feed the Ubisoft hate troll. Not a chance he bothers with a rational debate on the game.

Thing I like the most is that it's not a twitchy shooter. We need more slow methodical games and this seems to trend that way. Though I am afraid it will be too reliant on stats and eliminate skill out of the equation (by watching the accuracy/miss rate of weapons).

Oh, cool. So looks like ammo won't be a concern.

Do weapons jam/break up with use, though?

That I never encountered. Could be something as part of the full game but mostly you just dealt with shots missing/not hitting as hard due to enemy level/your firearm skill level. It's definitely heavy on the RPG aspect part when it comes to dealing damage.

Never noticed it or saw something about it, So u guess not.
Really like you can have a primary and a secondary of your choice, no limits really. I always run arround with a assault rifle and as secondary a M249. Or if you wish it could be the otherway arround. That was also a way i never had any issues with ammo. Even if your primary was empty you still had a full size gun next to it.

Nice.
I just fucking hate how I gotta repair my swords and armor in Witcher 3. Fucking inventory management simulator.

Unlimited Capacity
Ubisoft is funding them, they have full control over them, they take all the shots in the end. The only reason they allowed them to create their own engine is for internal use for other titles.
I am sure an open PvP endgame was the first thing the Ubi focus testers were clamoring for.

Doing this one handed with an infant. This is far down enough on the XB1 page on Amazon.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
So what other type of Weapons can a player use in this game besides Automatic Assault Rifles? Because Automatic Assault Rifles might be fine for many but I'm more of a fan of Handguns, non automatic Assault Rifles,Sniper Rifles and Composite/Compound Bows.

Yeah didn't see anything like that. It was a lot of "Oh is this gun/armor better than mine? Yep-equip/Nope-sell."
Thinking back there was a crafting table that was disabled in the alpha but I think that was for creating mods to your weapons. Not sure if guns will end up needing repair.

So you always have a sidearm that has unlimited ammo. I also encountered a shotgun and different SMGs. I personally didn't find any sniper rifles but I imagine they're in there. Have doubts about bows though, but hard to know for sure based off the alpha.

Not sure about sniper rifles indeed. There were some DMR's wich were quite nice also.
For my sidearm at the end i had a magnum wich was cool

The trailer is awfully evasive about the game's story; doesn't really tell me anything about who or why.

It looks fun enough anyway. I hope that they have plenty of different weapon types and can keep them all relatively viable through every stage of the game.

There are different types of pistols. semi-auto, auto, magnums. Also sniper rifles, bolt action, markman rifles and shotguns. I don't know if bows will be in the game.

Didn't really look into this game much but got into the early access alpha on xbox and fell in love with it. Game was super awesome and I cannot wait for the beta \ release.

The only thing that worries me is the guaranteed beta for pre-order is available on every version on Amazon with the exception of PC.

Maybe Ubisoft is aware of our scams. That would impact legitimate consumers and potentially additional pre-orders as a result of the beta.

Happens less and less as you go on. The first few hours are pretty heavy for this.

It's 100% negated if you search the shit out of every loot chest/crate/box you see, though. The repair items will start piling up in your inventory, making it an absolute breeze.

Also, blocking damages your weapons, block less, Quen and doge more.

I am remaining optimistic, especially after playing the alpha.

Currently one of my most anticipated games of 2016, really hope it delivers.

Yea it was, (and then some). The final game for instance has a scene with a crowd twice the size of the one in the initial in-engine trailer. Elise looked better in the final game than in the original screenshots. Fog effects stayed in, in-game geometry stayed complex. I hate this "it didn't look as good" nonsense because people are never specific. Unity on consoles didn't look as good as Unity on pc which was what the e3/gamescom demos, and trailers showed.

I think it's well known that Ubisoft rarely release a game as graphically and complex as the initial reveals Trailer. If you don't see that then I can't help you. And its not nonsense as it's clearly been proven over and over.

In Amazon ES they say they will email the codes 2 weeks prior to the beta

They've been more true to their reveals this gen than not as well as released some of the best looking games so far this gen. Still waiting on the specifics of what was downgraded in ACU btw. And I hate to reiterate this yet again, but this is a Massive Entertainment title.

I got the beta code from Amazon/Ubisoft after preordering the PC version. I mean, granted I didn't cancel it but still.

Same here. Pre-ordered so I could have an extra key to give to a friend. Received the email within 5 mins (or less) of placing the order.

How do you figure that?

EDIT: The digital version doesn't have the Guaranteed Beta Access listed on the page. Choose the disk version if you're just going to cancel it anyway.
