This'll be my third playthrough of the game, so I'll probably swap a few of the tracks just to mix things up. Some of them will be minor, like replacing Imminent Triumph with the unused version, and some of the songs I'll replace with heavier material just because the game gives off a power-metal vibe to me (you can blame Into Free for that). For a first-timer I would definitely recommend the vanilla OST since it's really good, but I don't think there's anything wrong with adding some novelty to something you've already put a ton of time in.

Would be great if the game counted people you are in a Steam group with as friends since then the NeoGAF Steam Group would suffice for free Pawns.

For those of you knowing about the DLC area (I only played the vanilla game last gen), is there a recommended/required level for that? I heard you can get there quite early, but I don't know if it's advisable.

I know there's quite a discussion in the Dark Souls community when best to weave in the various DLC areas into a full playthrough, do we have something like this for Dragon's Dogma?

It's considered post game from what I've heard.

dark arisen area (bitterblack isle) is the highest level dungeon in the game, so I'd recommend getting to end game and do the end game content first before entering it

New player? Wait lvl 30 or 40.

I completely forgot how the whole endgame progression, point of no return and new game+ worked, even though it hasn't even been that long since the original came out.

That whole final act of the game was such a
rollercoaster mindfuck that it all blurs together in my mind. :lol

oh yeah if you already experienced the vanilla game before then you could probably go in BBI earlier, since I just thought if you beat BBI you will out level the entire final act which was only cool if you're at the right level.

Someone posted about how they got rekt by bandits. I laughed cause I took down some easily before that. Then I got rekt by a group myself.

Actually I think another group joined out of nowhere. But yeah, cheeky little bastards.

Guys just wait for the OT to go up. That is probably a better place to exchange ids since this thread will be dead after friday.

Weird - when I entered my key from GMG on steam, it said that the game is locked and I would have to wait for an update when it becomes available. However I clicked ok, then I could click install and its downloading as I speak.

it's pre-loading...you won't be able to play it until it officially unlocks on Friday

So beside your primary pawn. Pawns you hired don't level up with you? So basically you just hired new pawns every now and then.

I see that there is a feature to bookmark pawns you used in the past. Why?

Another heads-up: Set HDR to Low. On high, the bloom effects make everyone look like giant, walking fireflies, and glowing spells like Heal turn your entire field of view into a Christmas tree.

I imagine that you can bookmark pawns and then re-hire them in the future once they have been leveled by their owners. To be honest, I've never been able to re-hire the same pawn at a higher level.

I believe there is a "Clear Pawn Data" option in the Rift, so maybe that checks for updated pawn information. Still, I've never gotten this to work in the PS3 version of the game.

Well, if you like a pawn, why wouldn't you re-hire them later when they're higher level? The hired pawns don't level up with YOU, but when they level up in their owner's game, they level up in the rift.

There are always good pawns, though, so bookmarking isn't something I've ever needed to use.

Yeah, favorite them at level 15, dismis them at say, 20, and then at 25 if the player was still at it the pawn might be 25 around the same time. Since you know it's a good pawn, it'll be a good choice over most other 25s.

There's also the pawns that wander the world, so if you favorite pawns you like I think they have a higher chance of appearing wandering or standing near pawn hubs so you can get them back quick. Even if you don't want to hire them, if you just like the way they look, as some of the Capcom pawns and random player pawns look like they were dressed by standing in an exploding item shop.

Like I currently have an online pawn modeled after Melisandre from Game of Thrones, so I'll likely favorite it just to keep it in the quick pool.

Can someone explain the multiplayer? What can you do? Just download other people's characters?

yes you use other people's pawns to help you and then there is the Ur Dragon online where people go and fight it and all their damage accumulates until it finally dies, and everyone who contributed gets drops.

So for classes that uses bow. Unless I'm missing something, when you use a special ability. (Using a controller)

It continuously lock in that ability until you actually let go on Left Bumper. And while you're holding LB, your stamina doesn't recharge?

Kinda pain in the ass to LB zoom in with a bow, use ability then having to zoom back out and then in again to shoot normal arrows.

I sometimes just use the same pawn for like 10 levels if I like them enough, you don't need to keep them updated that much mostly

It depends on the sort of ability. There are some abilities that are basically fire'n'forget (like Cloudburst Volley), but there are others that have a continuous use (like Sixfold Arrow). The ones that have a continuous use are usually better spent actually using repeatedly as opposed to firing off a single salvo.
