BvS seems to be a bit of a slave to the producers and higher ups. It has a LOT to live up to, what with trying to appeal to so many people and do something different, all while maintaining the integrity of the titular characters. They're relying on getting too many asses in the seats so it's likely going to be a very safe & formulaic movie.

Aside from the Joker, Suicide Squad doesn't have as much to live up to. They can try new things with the large cast they have and not worry about sullying people's expectations of characters that, let's get real, most people have never seen on screen or even heard of aside from MAYBE Harley.

It's gonna be the better film. I'm going to see them both simply because I love Batman and wanna see what they do with em and I think SS looks genuinely fun. I'm not going in with crazy expectations for either though... Man of Steel was truly one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. After that I question DC's judgement, especially with BvS, but I'm willing to give SS the benefit of the doubt.

Here's to hoping we'll get at least one quality film from DC this year! :)
 
Harley looks fantastic. That menacing look on her face after she delivered the lines about voices in her head was perfect.

Joker laying on the ground with all the knives around him is hilarious :D

Trailer is really good.
 
I wonder what WB is gonna think if Suicide Squad outgrosses BvS (domestically). It's honestly not an unlikely outcome given the difference in reception between the two film's marketing so far, and considering the first SS trailer got more views on youtube.

There's only one logical solution.

Justice League x Suicide Squad movie. Have them team up in one giant cluster of over the top awesomeness.

Nope. No movie with a name like Suicide Squad is ever going to out gross a movie with both Batman and Superman in the title. It's just not going to happen.

It only makes sense since the villains in DC have always been better than the heroes

Their respective marketing budgets will likely prevent that from happening. I guess it's possible but I'd argue pretty unlikely.
 
Cringed hard at Bohemian Rapsody playing.. reminded me of the god-awful use of Bob Dylan in Watchmen.

But the movie looks like a lot of fun! A superhero movie that actually has a different tone and humor, not just different one liners.
 
I'm really excited for this film, the director has a great track record to boot.

Its night and day between SvB and Suicide Squad; wouldn't be surprised if the latter performs better at BO too.

Yeah, I think people are yet again creating a false equivalence between the internet's feelings towards a particular franchise versus the general public. People will eat up Batman vs. Superman, that thing is going to make crazy bank on the name alone.

I have no doubt that Scuicide Squad will do very well, but better than BVS? Even in the 'States? I just can't see that happening.
 
Damn, that was awesome! This looks a million times better than BvS. Maybe BvS will prove me wrong, and I hope it does, but right now I am just so much more excited about Suicide Squad. Makes me kind of wish the people in charge of SS were the ones doing Justice League.
 
Even if Jai Courtney is just as lifeless in this as he is in everything else he's acted in, there should still be a special academy award for the trailer editor that managed to make him look this good.

It's an impossible outcome. You're letting the reception of these movies amongst a bunch of vocal fanboys colour your perception.

BvS is a Batman movie. It's going to do at least $400 million even if it's a massive disappointment. If word of mouth is good, it'll probably end up far and away above that in the domestic market. Suicide Squad isn't touching that kind of gross. It'd be an amazing result if it managed around $300 million.
 
Jai Courtney is so fucking great. Really. For me, he steals the show more than Harley. Fucking great scenes in this trailer of him. What a scumbag.
 
Looks like I'm not in tune with most of GAF.

That trailer might be well edited and all but if it's a good representation of the movie, then that one is gonna suck. So much forced, cringey dialogue :/
