Emily Rogers: Nintendo Working on Unannounced Wii U Game [Update: Paper Mario]

When the game is revealed:

O_o I don't get it.

It is the wrestling equivalent of this.

And I agree with others who think that this should be revealed properly, though I understand the conflict it brings with supporting games journalism.

Alright Nintendo fans. Calm your **** for one second. I know you are all very tense at the moment. Just go outside and take a deep breath.
You ask if people care for a gaming related rumor on a messageboard about videogames. Did you expect hugs, kisses and flowers?

This shit is gonna be Animal Crossing and I'll be disappointed as fuck :(>

The best case scenario I see is it being Paper Mario. And even that has a big chance of being another shitty Paper Mario like sticker star.

Lolololololo, Wii U not dead yet! Can't wait to see what it is.

Fake edit: Why would people be upset about Animal Crossing? Can't be because of Amiibo Flopstival.....

This is the first time I've ever said this, but please don't be Metroid. At this point I want it pushed to be an NX exclusive, that's assuming that the NX can achieve greater visuals than the Wii U.

Same thing for anything Retro Studios.

P.N.03: the lost levels

Developed by Tango, published by nintendo.

This can only lead to disappointment. Everytime something like this comes up, people are like "OMG Metroid, F-Zero, Earthbound, 3D Mario!" and when it ends up being something cool but not mindblowing everybody is disappointed.

Nothing against Emily Rogers or anyone else listed "in the know," but....

Can we not just let Nintendo announce it in their own way, when they're ready? Do we really have to have the beans spilled?

I'm getting flashbacks of the Dan Baker Minecraft announcement of an announcement. That happened over a weekend too. Why didn't they just wait to drop this when they were ready?

I don't believe there is any reason to believe for Nintendo to release a newer hardware that is graphically less capable then a previous one.

Why would Nintendo release a console that has the same graphical parity with the Wii U. They might as well continue supporting the Wii U if that be the case.

If it is Metroid or F-Zero I think it's unlikely an NX home console will release this year. Metroid/F-Zero and Zelda in the same year is awesome. Holiday titles for Wii U, NX home console comes out Spring 2017, hoping it's beasty with a Polaris APU on board. It really should be significantly more powerful than a PS4 at a $299 price point. We'll see though. Could be a $249 machine like the Wii. Then I hope it's at least roughly on par with PS4.

I'd kill for a proper Wario Ware, Game and Wario didn't scratch the itch outside of Gamer.

Punch Out would be fine... As would Waluigis Sneak and Love.

Not a party game or minigame collection, so I don't think Rhythym Heaven or WarioWare will be it.

Mmmm, I'm not sure that I'd regard RH as a minigame collection - the general themes are consistent, even if the presentation varies - but I'm sure many would; fair point.

Yes, we can let Nintendo announce it, but Nintendo is not very communicative since E3. So yes, we have to have the beans spilled.

Fire Emblem Radiance Collection. To hop on the FE hype train and milk it as much as possible with the smash representation, the FE Fates, the amiibos and #FE.

Pikmin 4 was already announced being worked on by Miyamoto though. This game hasn't even been mentioned.

As much as I'd love this, and I spend my evenings dreaming about it, PoR and RD killed the series on consoles. I can't imagine how poorly they'd sell on the Wii U, regardless of the boost Awakening gave the series.
