Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to get the season pass if they can afford it.

You'll be able to save all your fight money for the first year the game is out, and in theory have enough fight bucks to then get everything free in season 2 as it rolls out.

I plan to amass a fortune of bipson dollars if I can.

That's likely what I'm gonna do. I'll get the season pass this time, then grind out for whatever character coming out afterwards.

Best part? The two characters I want the most are in this season. Urien and Alex.

Season 2 would need all new characters to get me to buy, because I really can't think of anyone else I'd drop $ for except those two. Maybe Hugo, maybe Cody, but nothing draws me to a MUST HAVE after those two dudes.

This is what I'm doing. I also want to support the game.

Plus those extra costumes tempt me too much

was going to pass on it because I assumed it'd be jacked up in price but it seems to be the same in Canada.

Still dunno, I mean I'll either play this so much I'll be able to unlock the characters I want, or I'll drop it and not care about more fighters. But I really do want Alex and Urien.

That's my plan.

Wait it's $30?

lmao I thought it was going to be like $20 nah I would have to think about it, might as well grind it

30 bucks for 6 characters is not bad. 5 dollars a character. MK charges you 25 dollars for 4 characters. Not to mention you will get an alternate outfit for each character too.

My problem comes from playing on both PS4 and PC. :/

I'll probably buy the season pass just for the costumes alone. Hopefully they have good stuff to buy with fight money other than characters, like other costumes and colors.

Hope this is a season pass costume for Alex

Why both if they are cross play? Why not just buy one and season pass, grind a ton on that, then later in the year for a steam sale or whatever, grab the second version?

I'd cream my jeans. That jacket is one of the best jackets. Howard rocks it, Alex rocks it, even Leon da man Kennedy rocks it.

i foresee a hobo costume for Alex.

it wouldn't be too far off from his living conditions anyways
Hot Ryu already looks like the world's sexiest hobo. Something similar to Rocky when he was hired muscle in Rocky would be cool. Really, anything gritty resembling Nineties (or below) NYC would be awesome. Gimme leather, jean jackets, work boots and all that good stuff.

GAME had Hot Ryu, I had to use em :(

Cheating on simplygames felt awful but yeah dlc and steelbook got me by the balls.

give him timbs. a dapper dan style jacket for him would be so dope

Because I play on my PC solo and my console for gatherings. I host a lot at my house and playing on console is easier and convenient for multiple setups.

Maybe I'm just too optimistic with the DLC characters but I don't think 20-30 hours for a character or stage (or hopefully costumes?) is really in the cards.

I think the rate we all earned fight money in the beta will stay mostly the same in the final build of the game. That is, play online and a win will earn you 100 FMs with a loss giving you just 10 FMs. If the single player does happen to be similar to MKX and you just play through the whole cast in a sequence with everyone getting a few fights (a chapter) then perhaps each chapter cleared will earn you 250 FMs and finishing the whole story maybe gives you 1000 FMs bonus. If , instead the story mode still has chapters but it lets you just pick someone and play their section ? well maybe you get 10 FMs a match and clearing the chapter gives you 100 FMs as well , upping the difficulty gives you a small bonus. The bonus only gets handed out for the first clear on each difficulty with each character maybe ? Then, if there happens to be a challenge option added to the game that's similar to SF4's , each challenge maybe gives you 10 FMs and clearing all of a characters challenges gives you a 500 FM bonus. Obviously you would only be able to do those once.

Basically what I'm getting at , is if someone never went online , they should be able to earn enough fight money in single player to get their first character "free". Possibly even 2 characters. I imagine capcom could probably program in a scaling system too - like perhaps the first character you buy with fight money is worth X and the next one is 2X and the one after that is 3X and so on. So the first character tossed in there is perhaps worth 10,000 fight money , go online only and do well , you'll earn enough to get a character after 100 wins. Or, do every single thing offline and end up with 20-30K FM.

Give players many options to spend their FM on - maybe 1 alternate outfit is on there for each character and they cost 2000 FM each , perhaps the pre-order costumes pop up for everyone a couple months after the game comes out and they cost 5000 each. Maybe even colors cost 1000 FM a piece (beyond the first 2). Hell, they could even charge 500 FM for a banner /quote when you go online.

Honestly I'd love to see the most expensive stuff be the kind of thing that's purely cosmetic - so down the road when they start throwing in a 2nd alt costume - maybe those cost 5$ with zenny OR you can buy them with fight money 30-60 days after they can be bought with zenny. Charge 25,000 zenny for that second alt. Capcom could even offer up exclusive colors for anyone ranked #1 for more then 30 days as a single character online.

I mean lets be real for a second here, it's 5$ for a character if they're purchased with zenny. How much time should that be worth ? 20-30 hours feels just a bit much for someone whose winning at least 10% of the time. 1 hour of work for 1$ though ? so 5 hours to get 10,000 FM ? that doesn't feel too unreasonable to me. The hardcore pros will always get access to the new characters quickly and the people that can't play SF for 5-10 hours a month will have to wait or pay.

DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY HAVE CONFIRMATION THAT GAMESTOP IS DOING 50% OFF ON THE SEASON PASS?

I feel like that's the most important question we need to address right now. And I called my gamestop (that I work at) and they were confused by it.

Fucking killler deal, we need to know. Guile. GUILE.

Do you guys think EX characters (rebalanced with different movesets, but same character model) would be a good idea? KOF does it. Imagine having classic Dictator with Psycho Crusher, classic charge Claw, non-charge Alpha Chun, charge + 360 Birdie, etc...

save all that for Omega mode later... i'd rather they focus on new characters / reimagined existing characters for a while. i imagine they'll bring in additional CA choices after a while and that'll add some depth.

I think it will happen as long as the game lasts 3+ years. I think it would be interesting for characters that are wildly different compared to old versions, but for someone like Ryu it could work as a cheap/easy to get unlockable.

Eagle is from SF1. He's as street fighter as it gets, son.

I was just talking about where the sprites originated. Calm down, canon police.

Alpha character = characters made for Alpha. Not sprites ripped from other games and put into a psp port to satisfy Sony's mandate that all ports have something added from the original versions.

Feels more like a community angle not necessarily e sports.

That's how it felt to me. Really hits me in the feels as a person that's been playing fighters so long to see how far it's come. Awesome of Capcom to put the spotlight on the people that have helped fuel the game's legacy.
