Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Lol. That video isn't good. They don't need all of that just some gameplay sliced in with the intro video would have been all they needed.

Have their been any details about whether or not you would get access to the preorder bonus for ordering on Steam in the PS4 version? I dunno via a capcom account or something?

There must be sharing of costumes for both versions right? Otherwise how do you get the Bison, Ryu or Cammie costumes on PC?

The Capcom SFV accounts are separate on PS4 and PC, unfortunately, so no sharing of content.

Nnng, I can't decide between getting the regular edition for £42 or the PS4 digital season pass bundle for £69. That's a lot of money.

It's definitely melodramatic, but I think it does a good job of differentiating Street Fighter from other kinds of games.

I datamined the pre-order costumes off of the PC version... so they are definitely there.

also looks like story mode is more than just a visual novel... THANK GOD

Was thinking about pre-ordering a digital copy from Gamestop to get the Ryu costume but not sure if that's only for physical copies. Would anyone know the answer to this?

Just as I mentioned in the (now debunked?) "SFV's story mode is nonexistent" thread: this actually looks quite cool despite me at first not thinking that an MK style story mode with in-game cutscenes between fights (assuming that's what it'll be) would offer that much beyond cheesiness and fluff. Sure, this looks over-the-top and Saturday morning cartoonish (Bison taking over the world-style) as hell but also like it will actually help to define the world of SFV and contextualise the fighting.

Shame about the delay to summer for this full version of the story though :-(

That's Guile alright.

Edit: Eagle-eyed folks in the announcement thread suggest that a 3D model of Decapre rocking a new design exists. I'm thinking Cammy alt costume.

Why would you think , that ? No seriously why would you think that, why would you not think it would be her own character. Girls moveset was different enough in 4 and we aren't talking about the omega version with invisible projectiles.

Story mode looks fucking amazing. Seeing as we'll probably have two DLC characters out by the time story mode drops, I'm thinking Guile is a lock to be out by then. Im hoping Alex is the other.

I really hope it's Alex/Urien as the first DLC character. Just because they haven't popped up for a while.

Also, I hope the background with Chun-Li and Rashid is a stage. I always loved stages like that.

I reckon Guile and Balrog will be the DLC characters before Story mode. With Juri and Urien being featured but unplayable opponents.

Damn that sucks. I understand that the game shouldn't be crossbuy but they could have at least made the costumes cross buy. I was hoping to preorder the steam version and the ps4 version at Best Buy to get 2 costumes.

Now people will go back to worrying about if the game's been dumbed down too much to be a competitive fighter.

I'm with you, specifically because they would be the coolest to have in the story mode as well imo.

As for the background: all the other footage seems to make use of stages we've seen (unless I'm mistaken) except this one so I'd say there's a chance it might be an actual stage. Unless it's a different version of the New York one, assuming they still plan on doing different variations of stages. I for one am still waiting to hear more about these once hinted at time of day / weather changes actually, those and more stage interactions like on the Hong Kong stage.

What're these that the Street Fighter Twitter have been reblogging? Probably nothing tbh, but second one is interesting...
From top to bottom: Geki, Mike and Retsu from Street Fighter 1. Some players think Mike is the same character than Mike Bison (the boxer Balrog's Japanese and original name), but according to Capcom it isn't the case.

It would have been nice, but surely Sony prefers you using their store to buy content.

DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY HAVE CONFIRMATION THAT GAMESTOP IS DOING 50% OFF ON THE SEASON PASS?

I feel like that's the most important question we need to address right now. And I called my gamestop (that I work at) and they were confused by it.

Fucking killler deal, we need to know. Guile. GUILE.

I went up to the store and they changed their story to a maybe. The clerk told me that they might offer season pass at 50% off when the preordered game is picked up. Sounds like BS and I'm pretty salty for wasting my time going their in harsh condition.

Do you guys think EX characters (rebalanced with different movesets, but same character model) would be a good idea? KOF does it. Imagine having classic Dictator with Psycho Crusher, classic charge Claw, non-charge Alpha Chun, charge + 360 Birdie, etc...
Several Street Fighter games also had EX versions of some characters, that were versions of them in previous games.

You can preorder digital through Gamestop? How does that work? Can you preorder digital through Amazon?

Making him look more like Balrog made me raise an eyebrow

Just thinking in terms of the lowest risk option for Capcom. The Decapre model would represent herself in cutscenes and be playable in-game as a costume for Cammy. Lots of other unique models appear in the trailer, but I don't automatically think we're getting Fat Shadowloo Soldier or Indian Police Officer as playable characters with their own move sets.

Of course, it's entirely possible that silhouette in the DLC preview means Decapre is DLC and not Juri or Ibuki.

What're these that the Street Fighter Twitter have been reblogging? Probably nothing tbh, but second one is interesting...

They're three of four SF1 characters that never made it out of SF1. The other one is Joe, who may or may not be Cody in disguise.

Edit: Looking at the twitter, he's also got a drawing of Joe and one of Retsu, who I forgot about.

So I stopped at GameStop today to look into the season pass 50% off deal and right as you walk in the door theres this:

So I asked the guy working what the deal was and he was unsure but assumed that if you preordered both the game and season pass you get the pass 50% off. So he tried ringing it through the system and hit a roadblock....their system has no listing or information for a season pass for PS4, only for PC at $29.99. So, confused, I asked there was actually no way for me to buy the pass for PS4 at full retail and he said no because there was nothing in their system for it.

Weird.

Any who, looking at the poster again and I, along with others it seems, have misinterpreted it. I guess it's supposed to be $60 of content for half the price hence the 50% label and Gamestop.com says this:
Contains 6 additional characters, each with a premium costume, for Street Fighter® V. Also comes with an exclusive PS4 theme!

Each character would cost $6 individually, and each premium costume would cost $4 individually, making this a $60 value to the consumer for half the price.

Ha. Yup, not actually a deal. Just the "savings" you get by buying the season pass instead of that content piecemeal.

More misleading than PS4 Console Exclusive Label!

I've been looking at the Collector's Edition on Amazon for a few days pretty regularly I don't NEED it...but I think I want it. And I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pick up a new Mad Catz fight stick (arcade stick, whatevs). I don't have one for the PS4.

I hope Mike becomes an alt for Balrog at some point.

I can agree with you on that as well. I mean they were start of something entirely different in SF3.

Well, considering there's a rail where they're at, it's not the NY stage I think. But I really hope it does become a playable stage, that would have me pretty excited.

Same here. They haven't showed anything new have they? I'm still waiting on rain for some stage.

That's actually Lee, not Retsu. :P
