Cat trapped in the body of a 20 year old Norwegian girl.

Normally I click on these threads and get a "I don't know what I expected".

Today, this was exactly what I expected it to be.

Edit: died at the hissing at dogs. Most cats in residential areas don't really give a shit about dogs unless the dogs comes at them first.

Wonder how many trans-species humans we have now. Probably more than ever thanks to the internet

Factor in millenials and parents who are unable to say no to their kid?

Criticism ≠ ganging up and throwing slurs and insults at someone with a mental condition. Sure it's happened before but it's not constructive and does not 'contribute to the evolution of humanity.'

A few things:

Saying things need to be constructive or has to contribute to the evolution of humanity is a false premise.

The tone of the video wasn't like showing someone who got hit on the head and now loves like a dog thanks to severe brain damage, this is someone who just likes anime too much and will get over this phase.

If she doesn't, she might considering getting cat experts to try and emulate her true lifestyle, I can't imagine how using a bank account must be confusing for her, or wearing clothes.

Billions of years in the universe, infinite coincidences that created life, countless generations of humans who didn't die young and carried and passed the right genes at the right time, for this.

Sometimes I don't blame God for the Flood.

She is playing the stereotypes of a cat, she is not a cat. But it actually makes me wonder. Are there any records of this belief or behavior before our generation?

The whole trans species thing is probably going to be showing up more as we progress. People already do some crazy body modifications and if we ever learn how to change aspects of ourselves due to science we're going to see some real unique changes to people. It'll be like tattoos and sex changes, only with tails and ears. And stuff.

Does that make them what they say they are?

Oh the fun debates we'll have then.

Exactly what I was expecting. There was a documentary on some kids (I think) like this called something like "What? I think I'm an animal". It's full of cringe.

I imagine the world of Transmetropolitan where one can literally become a dog.

If she's anything like my cat, she will take a shit outside the kitty litter box then play with the shit once it's dried. Is this normal?

That dude looks like every village idiot from my home town that never goes past being 15 years old and spending all days playing Warcraft.

Unless she was actually raised by or only around cats, mostly devoid of human contact, she has no legitimate case where actually mentally being a cat is an excuse you can say or write down that applies to her behaviour here. Someone needs to start telling her no.

Undoubtedly occasions where this has happened before, records of said behaviour may be more difficult to come by. Mental health records (medical records, not literal stats) even in the UK NHS are pretty poor with regards to mental health back to as recent as the 70s/80s, most people were locked up and filled with drugs rather than actually try to get to the root of any issue.

A theory I hold is that most of the supernatural and mythical creatures and stories probably stem from ignorance and mental health issues, can you imagine the PTSD incurred over thousands of years of war, death, and persecution?

This thread has validated its existence with this one gif. Saving for future use.

OT: Meh, a delusion, but a harmless one. No one is being hurt here, including herself. So I'm just going arch an eyebrow in puzzlement, then shrug my shoulders and move on.

I see no problem with this. If it makes her happy and she ain't hurting anybody. It could be worse, she could be killing and eating babies, a member of ISIS or Westboro Baptist Church. There were times when body mod and people with green dyed hair were considered "off" because they were out of the norm. Every generation to come out seems to be "out of the norm" to the generation the precedes it. Alternative lifestyles are considered "out of the norm" to the status quo of any given period/era. In the end, if it makes you happy and you aren't hurting people, a person's happiness is MORE of worth than the insecurities of someone else.

I dunno, I'd say she may be harming her ability to lead a productive life.

"Okay, we'd like to offer you the job!"

"Great, where do you keep your human sized litter boxes? Meow."

I'm unable to see the video at the moment, but she was obviously still raised like a human, conforming to our norms. It is only natural that large parts of her behaviour involves elements of human society.

On a more serious note, I think it's interesting to see where we draw the line for which identities are deserving of consideration and respect, and which can be dismissed and ridiculed. I guess the biggest differentiator is volume. The more people you have amongst your ranks, the more acceptable your interpretation of living "authentically" becomes. Has there ever been done a proper study on these furry/otherkin folks'?

Some are worth ridiculing. Like the whole "Trans-ethnic" nonsense.

You and me both.

Y'all actually want to like this? You can think something is weird without being an asshole/fascist about it. Geez

EDIT: In the west we're probably just a generation or two from this being celebrated openly. I cringe when I think of what will come next

Now I wonder if any of those saying "Well she isn't hurting anyone, so let her live her life!" would also argue in favour of "trans-ethnic" (which is just quite literally impossible due to the very definition of ethnicity).

Also, I'd argue she might be hurting herself, so I'm not so sure about "not hurting anyone".
